...Reading another Ciao member's opinion on This Morning inspired me to add my own thoughts on the subject. This programme has gone from strength to strength. Originally the set was based in The Albert Dock in Liverpool and as this is my home town, it was very easy to jump in the car and spend an idle day there, especially during the summer holidays. It was really amusing watching people standing around and peering into the large smoked glass windows at Richard & Judy (we never did of course!!!)Although on the television the windows looked clear,they were actually very dark and it was rather difficult to see into the studios from outside. This Morning

Advantages: Informative
Disadvantages: Not really aimed at men

...This morning is a TV magazine programme shown on ITV 10:30am until 12:30am every weekday. Two presenters, Philip Scofield and Fern Britton, host the show. Of which have an amazing chemistry together which makes the show that little more enjoyable, as they prepare themselves to talk about all kinds of issues sometimes, their fall into fits of giggles which to some of us would come across as unprofessional but to those who are light hearted you will find your self laughing along with them. The actual programme, covers many topics it would not be possible to list all of them but most frequent ones are; Fashion, Antiques, Soap Gossip, Competitions, Health issues and Agony Aunt Denise. Fashion is covered by fashion expert John Scott, its great to see a programme that doesn?t just cover fashion for those skinny size 6 and 8?s...

Review of ITV - This Morning

What will you get up to This Morning?

Advantages: I love Phil & Fern, some great news pieces & celebrity interviews.
Disadvantages: Fern is leaving :( Sometimes their laughter can get a little too much!

...This Morning is a light entertainment programme that is shown on ITV1 during weekday mornings and has been on TV for a number of years now. It is currently hosted by Phillip Scofield and Fern Britton, however, Fern has recently announced that she will be leaving the show in July on her birthday to spend more time with her family. Phil will be staying on and there will be a new replacement arranged for Fern (the rumour mill is running wild at present). The show talks about a variety of topics and has quite a few features throughout the week dealing with various issues such as finances, health, etc and they will have some quite hard hitting interviews with people suffering from financial difficulties, sickness, unemployment etc. They also run a daily competition which normally has a large cash prize or something like a car...

Good morning Phil and Fern

Advantages: Helpful and fun
Disadvantages: You won't get the housework done.

...Well guess what i've been doing all morning? I'd like to say i've been working hard, and am knackered! But that would be a lie. I have been sitting on my rather large bottom, and watching my favourite tv duo, (other than Ant & Dec) Phillip Schofield and Fern Britton, on my favourite day time tv programme. Goodbye to This Morning.

Advantages: You can turn over to BBC
Disadvantages: Its not on in the middle of the night.

...This Morning is a daily magazine/comsumer programme. Now some of you may be saying its sad to do so, but I used to like This Morning with Richard and Judy. Richard was a big girls blouse and had an almost strange interest in womens problems, but I like him because he was sincere, compassionate, friendly and funny. He used to be always putting his foot in it, he liked to speak his mind, bless him, and he used to wind Judy (his wife) up something rotten. Judy was a bag of nerves, but her heart was in the right place and she was kind of a big sister/mummsyish figure to the viewers. They interview people on the latest topics and interests,some big celebs and ordinary people with a sad or happy story to tell. Wake up to This Morning

Advantages: The whole show in general
Disadvantages: None

...As I am now retired, I am now able to watch the programmes I never was able to watch before when I was working, and this includes 'This Morning'! Presented by Richard Madely and Judy Finnigan, and Fern Briton and John Lesley on a Friday, it covers a whole range of subjects throughout the week. There's Denise Robertson, the Agony Aunt. She's a lovely, caring woman, and seems to be able to sort out any problems thrown her way! Raj Pasode is the Psychiatrist, and a good one he is too! Dr Chris Steele is the 'This Morning' doctor. He's a good doctor, and knows what he's talking about. He's very caring and considerate, a good listener, and very understanding. We are of course, talking about the ??This Morning Show? which husband and wife team Richard Madeley and Judy Finnegan presented for 13 years up until this summer. I will admit that I thought the programme itself was a bit cheesy with the different goings on but it was a somewhat watchable show. Hands up, I was one of those people that said ?I can?t stand that programme? without having actually sat down and watched it. Until having children, I wasn?t actually in the house to be able to watch it, but after my fist child was born, I used the time she was sleeping to put my feet up for half an hour and watch whatever was on. Morning Has Broken

Disadvantages: Twiggy was terrible, lost its charm

...It's 1988. Margaret Thatcher and Ronald Reagan are the two most powerful leaders in the world. Inflation is rising, and necklines were plunging. You try to sell the ITV network you're new morning programme idea. "Right, there's two main presenters, a Mumsy one wearing pastel shades, and a man who looks like he just stepped out of a C&A catalogue. They'll talk for 3 hours about topics like contraception and flower arranging, assisted by an elderly squinting agony aunt, and a weatherman stood in the middle of the Mersey river…". Well, someone was a damn good salesman, because This Morning somehow managed to burst onto our screens in the late 1980's. Occupying the slot after Lucky Ladders or Runway (the 'Who Wants To Be A Millionaire' and 'Weakest Link' of their day), it became far and away the most successful example of mid-morning...

Boring morning tv

Disadvantages: everything

...In the mornings, there is nothing else to watch except Richard and Judy in 'this morning. It's not that bad, but I do not think it appeals to anyone under 25. It is more for your mum who stays at home and watches morning t.v, or somebody old who just wants to watch something because they have nothing to do. I, do no think it has universal appeal, and for a show that takes so much air space, it perphaps should have. When I used to be off, at school there would be nothing to watch except 'this morning', which to 15 year old can seem quite boring. It does have some good guests on, it has had the likes of Robbie Williams, All Saints on so, it does try to keep in touch with the world. It's boring to 19 year old but interesting to a 30+....

This Morning i'm in mourning

Advantages: Richard and Judy (who im not talking about in the questionnaire below! i'm rating the current show!)
Disadvantages: The new 'presenters', if that's what you'd call them

...I'm in mourning (okay, so i'm a bit late, Richard and Judy left months ago, but take pity on me, i'm new to this!). So, as i was saying, i'm in mouring. Gone are the days when i would be at home poorly but have This Morning to brighten up my day. Richard and Judy's smiling faces (due to all the 'TV makeup'?!?) would wash away all my blues, and make my excruciating stomach ache seem like a 'walk in the park'. Even in the holiday's if my mum had got me up early i wouldn't mind; i'd be safe in the knowledge that Richard and Judy would be there to greet me. And it wasn't even just R and J, oh no, there was the whole gang: Dr.Chris, Dr.Rag, Karl, Phil the chef, and many many more. Those joyful days are however gone. R and J made the decision to make the move to Channel 4, and have left a gaping hole in my life. A liitle pathetic you...
