Review of Big Ones - Aerosmith

One Day All This Are Belong to Us?

Advantages: Another promising release from a keen rock band.
Disadvantages: My terrible review title. Someone suggest a better one...

.... It starts on a simple piano riff that varies and repeats during the song. Like Grand Unification pt. 2 on the last, this track (for me) is what the album is all about. It's got an amazingly catchy chorus and some lovely melodies. It's only flaw that I can see is suffering from something I will from now refer to as 'Fighstar-syndrome', the strange need for a quiet break down before the last leg. It really isn't done very well on this track. Apart from that it's amazing material, and remains one of my favourite tracks of the last few monthts. Big, doomish, apocalypse music. Deathcar stands out as one of the heaviest tracks on the CD. At the beginning you hear the sounds of Charlie (lead) holding his breath under water then gasping for air, followed immediately by a sudden driving heavy-metal intro. If you want DAB this is the ONE for you

Advantages: Great sound, affordable, a great introduction to DAB radio
Disadvantages: screen could be permanently back lit, not keen on the large control button

Advantages: Amazing lyrically, good collection
Disadvantages: Couple of tracks missing the rawness

...' drumming is one of the high points. Again, you can feel the song building up as it goes along, and then when the chorus kicks in it all starts to make sense. It is the type of song that is typical of the band, and it has a real spikiness about it which I love. The enthusiasm the band have for their art really shines through on this track, and the chorus has the all important hook to make you want to listen, and it draws you into the story behind the lyrics. This band show once again that you don't need to have a fake attitude and sneer to succeed in this business, and I would even go as far to say that it seems like they are mellowing with age! This one's gonna make you sweat.

Advantages: The 30 day challenge keeps you motivated and the exercises aren't boring!
Disadvantages: Doesn't keep a record of your weight and occasionally doesn't track your movements.

EA Sports Active Personal Trainer The Wii Fit has been a hugely popular game, coming with it's famous Wii Balance Board players were doing combinations of balancing exercises, yoga, muscle training and cardio workouts. However, whilst this sounded good, people who were looking for a strong workout may have been disappointed. Wii Fit is fun... but didn't have continous workouts which told you how many calories you may be burning. Then along came EA's game... EA Sports Active Personal Trainer. Priced at £34.96 this is considerably cheaper than Wii Fit which is priced at £59.99 (prices according to Amazon). It doesn't come with a Wii Balance Board, however it isn't a requirement to own one to be able to play EA Active. Acer Aspire One = Number 1!

If you are one of the majority who have had Micro$oft thrust upon you then go for the Windows version, unless you have the time and patience to install it yourself.
