Thrustmaster 360 Modena
Review of ThrustMaster 360 Modena Racing Wheel - wheel and pedals set by
stavroshamster
Advantages: Good build, rubberised grip, looks good.
Disadvantages: Clamping system slightly awkward
...!!NOTE: This review is not for the force-feedback model, as the 'product details' section implies, but is for the version without force feedback!! I am also reviewing the PC model, not the model for consoles!
I borrowed this wheel from a friend in order to play Toca Race Driver 2 (great game by the way!!).
I have been very impressed by the wheel.
The wheel is made by Thrustmaster (whose parent company is Guillemot) and is a replica of the steering wheel found in the Ferrari 360 Modena as the name suggests.
The wheel has a sturdy hard black plastic design with a rubberised grip on either side which gives you added control over its movement without the wheel slipping through your hands. It is extremely well built - a vast improvement on the wheel that I previously owned - The Guillemot Race Leader Force Feedback whic felt rather...

Logitech Momo wheel - watch out for the pedals
Review of Logitech MOMO Racing - wheel and pedals set by
stavroshamster
Advantages: Sturdy design, rubberised grip, force feedback
Disadvantages: pedal problem
...II recently purchased the Logitech Momo Force Feedback racing wheel from www.scan.co.uk (previously reviewed by me on Ciao) for £65 (excluding p&p). The price has gone up slightly now though.
I have found this wheel to be, in general, much better than my old wheel - the Guillemot Race Leader Force Feedback - which stopped working after I got Windows XP, and the Thrustmaster Modena wheel which I have reviewed previously on Ciao.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The wheel has the following features:
Designed by MOMO - MOMO is one of the world's leading designers of steering wheels and automotive accessories, for the track and the street - look out for their name in Michael Schumacher's Ferrari Formula One car.
Full rubber wheel...

Microsoft Official Xbox 360 Wireless Racing Wheel
Review of Microsoft Official Xbox 360 Wireless Racing Wheel by
James.Egginton
Advantages: Very robust and firm wheel. wireless
Disadvantages: MAY STRIKE SOME AS "CHEAP" LOOKING
...This wheel comes extremely well packaged and may take you a few mintues to actually get into it but atleast this lends assurance that it will transport well when it was shipped.
The packages comes in 3 separate parts:
>Wheel
>Pedals
>Table attachement
WHEEL:
The wheel itself is covered in a highly durable rubber covering making it very easy to keep a grip on it, which is an important feature if like me yours hands can sweat in the middle of an intense race. The wheel also has all the buttons you would find on a normal controller and they are all intuitively placed. The X,Y, A,B buttons are placed in easy reach of the thumb so when driving they are easy reachablt. The trigger buttons are also present as large levers placed directly behind the wheel so as you can easily use them but with enough room between them and the wheel...

And they say i am a solid gamer!!
Review of ThrustMaster 360 Modena Force GT Racing Wheel - wheel and pedals set by
jmy101
Advantages: Realistic steering and speed controls
Disadvantages: No force feedback
...This is the ultimate gamers gadget. It puts you right in the drivers seat as never before, and boy does it make a difference.
I will start from the top and work my way down, in my description. The feel of the steering whell is interesting. It is a very 'rubbery' rubber. This is not a problem but it does take some getting used to, and if you tend to get really into your games= sweaty hands then that could cause a problem. However it does provide excellent grip and control over the wheel.
Then there is the responsiveness of the wheel itself, within the game. I have used this whell on many games, with good results; but the best have to have been in Underground 2. You turn the wheel and the car turns!! Now this may sound basic but the amount youy turn the wheel isn't always directly reflected within the game.
The on-wheel buttons...

Thrash around racing games like never before
Review of Trust Force Feedback Race Master - wheel and pedals set by
Steve_pc
Advantages: Great force feedback wheel. Pedals, feedback, installation, all good.
Disadvantages: Pricey. Slightly flismy switch quality.
...Oh yeah. The Thrustmaster Force Feedback Racing Wheel sure is a stunner. I'm not sure why I spent all of £82 of my hard-earned on it in the first place, but that didn't seem to matter. I coupled it with Midtown Madness 2 (which only just came out, I pre-ordered it for £15!) and began to enjoy pleasure. My friends say "this game wouldn't be fun without the wheel" to almost every driving game with the wheel, signifying two things: that they don't like driving games much, and of course the wheel rules. Which it does.
I installed it on a Windows 98 SE system, and using the provided installation CD, used my USB port to plug in. Worked flawlessly, a little playing around in the Test Forces tab later, I was ready to go. There is also a serial option on the cable, however I have not used this. A little niggle about installation is the el...

Best Racing Game On 360
Review of Project Gotham Racing 4 (Xbox 360) by
brewster84
Advantages: Great sound and Graphics, lots of vehicles, great tracks. Great online features
Disadvantages: NONE
...I had Project Gotham 3 for the xbox 360 and it was one of my favourite games, so when I heard about Project Gotham four coming out I was really excitied.
I bought this game on the first day of release from Game for £39.99 and couldn't wait to start racing.
PGR4 is all about style. The Kudos system awards you points for driving with style and flair. Long powerslides around sweeping bends through to driving on only two wheels. The kudos you earn from racing can be used to buy new vehicles and also new tracks.
The weather conditions are a great addition to the game and the weather can even change in the middle of your race. This makes the game much more realistic.
Dense fog, ice, snow and lots and lots of rain are examples of the weather conditions you find yourself driving through and each affects your vehicle in a different...

Wheely Wheely Good!!
Review of Microsoft Official Xbox 360 Wireless Racing Wheel by
simo7uk
Advantages: Realistic, Responsive, There really are too many to list!
Disadvantages: Too expensive for everybody to own
...three of them work fantasticly well with this wheel. in the past wheels for consoles were notouriously unresponsive and difficult to control, this is certainly not the case with this wheel, it is easy to correct yourself after making a miscalculation with both oversteer and understeer. The controls really do feel like a real car, and remind me very much of the arcade racing games in terms of feel, control and force feedback, i really cannot express how good this wheel is!
Durability......
The product is made out of heavy duty plastic throughout and this allows the product to withstand many knocks as well as general wear and tear. I own several official microsoft xbox360 products and they are always nothing short of excellent, this wheel appears to be no exception.
Features......
The wheel does not provide much in the way of extra...

Best gaming experience for racing gamers!
Review of Project Gotham Racing 3 (Xbox 360) by
cobainkurdt
Advantages: everything......look above for features!
Disadvantages: none really....HONESTLY!
...on the medal for which you are competing.
10.)One on One - Race wheel to wheel against a single opponent. The winner is determined by whoever crosses the finish line first.
11.)Eliminator - Race against a group of cars. The last person to finish a lap is eliminated and the game continues until a winner is determined.
So there you have it...you have your timed events, racing events and style events.
Jargon - Still confused about Kudos...Basically, you earn Kudos through performing stylish maneuvers during a race ie drift (skid), draft (tail gate another car), 360 (quickly spin around in a complete circle), air (get the whole car in the air), top speed (be the first player to reach the full potential speed of the car) etc...the list goes on.

Project Gotham Racing 3 (XBOX360) Vs. GT4 (PS2)
Review of Project Gotham Racing 3 (Xbox 360) by
GoldJono
Advantages: Graphics are the best I have seen on a console motor racing game.
Disadvantages: Limited number of cars available.
...Project Gotham Racing is my first adventure into the world of xbox 360 and my first taste of Microsoft games consoles.
I guess my gaming experience has been quite normal having spent my early teens working my way through successive generations nintendo consoles. Then I grew up and moved on the Playstion where my gaming tastes changed from platform games to racing games and first person shooters. This is when I first encountered the Gran Turismo series and I was hooked. Which I followed onto the PS2 which ultimately led to GT4 probably the most complete driving simulator available.
I wasn't planning on buying an XBOX 360 I intended to wait and see how the PS3 shaped up. But, by chance an opertunity to purchase a xbox 360 premium pack and PGR3 at my local supermarket arose. I decided to buy it to sell on ebay...

Great force feedback wheel, complicated set up
Review of Guillemot Force Feedback Racing Wheel - wheel and pedals set by
chrisball2000
Advantages: Wide array of features - gear stick, paddles, force feedback, brake and accelerator peddles
Disadvantages: Can be time consuming to set up, compatibility problems on dated systems/games
...Steering wheels are the ultimate accessory for any racing game enthusiast. Unfortunately they can also be a real pain to set up. I got this wheel two years ago to use with some of the rally and formula 1 racing games that I own.
Performance wise its the best wheel I've ever used. It has very responsive pedals and good powerful force feedback from the wheel (it has its own power supply for feedback). Also if you're into gear changing then there's the option of either the gearstick or gear-shift paddles behind the wheel. Personally I found the gearstick a bit awkward to use on games but the paddles behind the wheel are really comfortable and easy to use.
The main problem I have found with this game is compatibility although these problems may only be unique to my system ( a Win 98 pII 400mhz ). I was generally able to get the wheel...
