Thunderbirds Are Go

Advantages: Fast, Gecko speeds, RSS, Simple Search
Disadvantages: No HTTP email support (no Hotmail), No built-in calender

...of having to open each one just to find none have being updated! RSS solves this, Thunderbird at start up checks if the site has being updated, and if it has it will display the news. Thunderbirds are GO! (Sorry...)

Advantages: Story okay for kids, humour brilliant for adults
Disadvantages: Okay so the plot's weak.. .but who cares?!?!?

...I saw Thunderbirds without very high expectations - it looked like a cheesy kids adventure with no real surprises in store. Still, I was interested to see what they did with the concept of Gerry Anderson's vintage puppet show. Taste the cheese. The cheese is goooooooooooood. I wasn't born when the puppets of International Rescue first started strutting their heroic stuff no TV, and by the time I became fashionable again, I was too old to want to watch it. Thunderbirds Are .... Pretty Good Actually!

...It seems ages ago since I saw Thunderbirds. In fact, it was our anniversary on July 25th, so it wasn?t too long ago really, but I have seen two other films at the cinema since. Oh well, Ciao have caught up now and Thunderbirds is finally listed, so let me cast my mind back. Well, a couple of weeks ago is a long time at my age ;-) I have never been a huge fan of Thunderbirds. I remember watching a story with alligators on the projector at home during my childhood, as Dad had it on those old films. ...Thunderbird is an E-Mail client from the producers of such an excellent software package as Firefox. It is a very simple looking program looking very similar to Outlook Express in format. You can download themes so that you can get the software looking just as you want it. On installing it will link your E-Mail to the Internet Explorer toolbar making it easy to check your mail whilst browsing. The Icon/ Emblem for Thunderbird is an Envelope shrouded by a bluebird, pretty much in the same vein that Firefox has a fox shrouding a globe. ...I?ve been a fan of the original Thunderbirds for as long as I can remember (I?ve even got most issues of Thunderbirds Magazine, in case that didn?t sound sad enough by itself) and had intended to see the new film as soon as it came out. That plan died when I discovered it was coming out two days before I was due to go on a Summer School for which I needed to cram desperately in order to avoid humiliating myself, so as it happened I did in fact see it nearly three weeks after it came out (ie yesterday). As a result of this, there were only 10 other people in the cinema with me, so I can?t really comment in any way on how other people reacted to the film. But to get on with the review? After incapacitating T Bird 5, he storms the now almost deserted base to make off with the other craft. Only Alan and his friends Fermat and Tin Tin are left to stop them. As an exercise in entertainment, this just about works. Thunderbirds cuts a swathe through set-up and has it's tongue firmly planted in it's cheek creating a general sense of fun and action from all the contained elements. First and foremost the Thurderbirds themselves are generally all well realised - 1 - 3 look especially great and have similary good hideaways and launches which hark back to the original series whilst benefiting from modern effects. ...Thunderbirds is a popular TV programme, especially with boys. There is Thunderbird 5, Thunderbird 4, Thunderbird 3, 2 and 1. Where do they keep all these crafts? In Tracy Island, of course! Tracy Island is an island in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean. Jeff Tracy owns Tracy Island. It looks quite small on the outside, but is really big on the inside, like the TARDIS! Thunderbird 5 lives in space and receives messages then sends them to Jeff. Thunderbird 4 lives at the bottom of Tracy Island and does the underwater jobs. Thunderbird 3, 2 and 1 live in Tracy Island. All crafts have a pilot. They are all brothers and Jeff Tracy is their Dad. They live in Tracy Island with Tin-Tin, Grandma and Brains. Advantages: Thunderbird 2 says 5 phrases but the other vehicles only say 3 phrases, the vehicles phrases are spoken by their pilot
Disadvantages: The batteries don't last very long, the vehicles are made of plastic so they may break easily in small childrens hands, the lever used to release the pod sometimes jams

Also on the front of the packaging is a picture of the pilot for Thunderbird 2 or whichever Tracy Brother pilots the Thunderbird you have bought.
