Advantages: The best of British rock
Disadvantages: Maybe a little cliched

...Back in the 1980’s, a wonderful band called Terraplane decided to call it a day, after producing a couple of brilliant albums which no-one bought. Fortunately for rock lovers, three of the band, vocalist Danny Bowes, guitarist and main songwriter Luke Morley and drummer ‘Arry “H” James enjoyed making music and each other’s company far too much to let it end there. So they stayed together, started another band, and called themselves Thunder. In August 1989, the newly formed band signed to EMI. Not long afterwards, a bassist (Mark Luckhurst) and a guitarist/keyboard player (Ben Matthews) were added, and the recording of one of British rock music’s greatest ever albums started. Advantages: Some songs as good as anything Thunder have ever done
Disadvantages: Not available really cheaply, yet.

.... His story is told in the opening and title track, “Robert Johnson’s Tombstone”. A gentle opening soon gives way into a stomping mid-tempo rock track with a blues undertone, which has very much been a Thunder trademark over the last two decades, although this does perhaps have more of a nod towards blues-rock than the rock-pop sound fans might be used to; maybe edging towards the more blues influenced sound of Luke Morley’s solo album, “El Gringo Retro”. “Dirty Dream” is perhaps a little closer towards the Thunder sound, being a little more up-tempo and a little more towards the pop-rock side of things. Lyrically, this has a nod towards Whitesnake but the song is unmistakably Thunder, especially with Danny’s distinctive vocal over the top. ...I've really just started out at Ciao and I just had to search for Rockingham and Days of Thunder, and I was so suprised to see that someone hasn't tried it before me, so I asked for it to be listed! For all of you who don't know, Rockingham Motor Speedway is an Oval racing track in the Corby / Rockingham area of Northamptonshire, in the UK. It is 1.479 Miles or 2.416 m in length, with 4 turns. There is also some internal tracks, The track is very modern, built in 2001, and has great access to it. The nearest train station is Kettering, with Market Harborough, Leicester and Peterborough not too far away. Bus services run to Corby itself, and there is ample parking at the track. There is also a helipad for any one who just happens to travel by helicopter everywhere. Stansted, Luton, Birmingham and East Midlands airport... Read review

Advantages: Good graphics for the dreamcast

...O.K this is an old game but i decided to review it cos i was playing it today. In Hydro Thunder, Midway have chosen to convert one of their better coin-ops from 2001, and give Dreamcast owners the unusual treat of racing high-performance powerboats. Sensibly they've turned to Derby's Eurocom, who have been handling Midway conversions for years, including Mortal Kombat 3. It's not meant to be a serious sporting experience - more of a fantasy ride on 13 over-the-top tracks. The only feature left out, by necessity, is the coin-op's outrageous vibrating cushion. You are racing against 15 other boats to the finish line with placings in the top three required to open up new sets of tracks with 'Easy' 'Medium' and 'Hard' settings. ...Thunder were undoubtedly one of the best British Rock bands on the scene during the early nineties, and this first offering from the Thunder camp is excellent. The whole album is brilliant - from the wonderful ballad type tracks like "Love Walked in" and "Don't wait for me" to Gimme Some Lovin and Dirty Love. An Englishman on Holiday is brilliant too - a very true song of what Brits are like on holiday - drinking , fighting and falling over! Very funny. Thunder were brilliant, and just as good live as they were on vinyl (old style records to you younger peeps!) Danny Bowers has a powerful voice that can easily do justice to ballads or rock-your-socks-off tracks, and the guitar work of Luke Morely, whilst not the best in the world, is certainly deservy of credit. ...Back street symphony was the debut album for the brit rock band thunder. They went on to produce many fine albums but nothing really come close to this. This albums contains several rock hyms the title track love walked in - shes so fine along with some of the irreverent fun that made thunder an excellent band to see live - an english man on holiday with the immortal lines "laying down in this spanish bar - the last slammer hit me like a car - I've got the 6am balieric blues - cant even focus on my own tatoos - I had a fight with a german guy - I saw him give my little girl the eye - while he was trying to act so cool - I hit him with a stool. The band has unfortunatley gone there seperate ways now and will be missed on the smaller venue rock scene in the UK.... Read review
