...Having owned a set of these spekers for about 9 months now, I can honestly say they are the best PC speakers I've owned. They're an excellent 4.1 system for the money. The box contains 4 satellite speakers, a subwoofer, and a control box, as well as some lenths of wire, and various fixings for the speakers. The speakers look good (but better without the grill), and you can see the Logitech/THX branding, which is nice if you're a style concious person. ...The overall experience you get from the THX 1138 Directors Cut DVD is certainly a good insight to the mind-set and creativity of George Lucas. This futuristic film is one of the "must have" films around - even if you watch it just once. The film itself is set in a stark, white-washed, micro-managed land - where everything done is watched and scrutinised: what is watched on the entertainment system; what medicine you use and how much; who you make love to - and when. Advantages: Light years ahead of the usual 1970s rubbish

...Buy One Get One Free - that is how I came to pick this up. Picture of tagged man's profile and that's it - it certainly looked like a conundrum, "Hmm" I said, and so I bought it. OK well technically I didn't buy it - it was Buy One Get One Free, but anyway. THX1138452FGYT997 is the name of the film (or at least it is some of those characters) The point is the name is basically, "You have no name." Robert Duvall (who I only know from "Falling Down") looks very different here as a man who is living in a oppressive world where the government drugs the workers who are then happy being dull doing nothing much for reasons unexplained. THX1138 tries to flee from this 1984 world (more on that later) by refusing to take his medication and he is found out - thrown in jail which consists of a pure white expanse of nothing with some other people... ...I am sure I heard whispers that this film was not worth watching, and had noticed that it has been available to purchase on DVD for £9.99. However, I ignored the opinions I had heard and decided to rent Treasure Planet from my local library on a dull afternoon to keep my daughter entertained. As can be expected from Disney the quality of the animation was superb and I can acknowledge other peoples opinions that the sound tracking was not up to Disney standard – but I think this film fits into the ilk of Monsters Inc. and the like instead of Lion King or Little Mermaid which have excellent orchestral soundtracks – it certainly didn’t detract from my enjoyment of the film. The version I rented also had a set up mode for 5.1 and THX sound systems to make sure you received the best from the soundtrack, 5 minutes spent tweaking was well... Read review

...Having owned a marantz home cinema amp for a number of years i thought it was time to up grade. For the money (£380) this seems to be one for the best on the market, it has THX sound and DD7.1 DTS etc. It was easy to set up and includes a nice little feature where you put the little mic that comes with it on the place where you sit, it will then set up your speaker levels so the sound is at its best. I also found that i could run my sky digital picture through the amp up to my projector. The remote can be used as an all in one amp but i have been told that it can be difficult to programe. The sound is fantastic i watched master and commader and it picked up the little sounds around the ship wonderfully well and gives a really full sounding experiance. all in all i find it very hard to fault the amp and would recommend to anyone who... ...Firstly, I brought this player for a quarter of the price! (£400). Although I will treat this as if I paid the full price. A brief history of this player, at this time, all DVD players were variations of Panasonic's or Sony's, good as these were they lacked real 'Va Va Voom'. Denon decided to have a go at designing their own high end DVD player, the DVD 5000 their heavy weight contender. This DVD player was the first player to be awarded the very high standards set be Lucas Film's THX labs. This player set the bench mark for players to come. When the player first arrived, the first thing that comes to mind is its mammoth weight, a back breaking 17Kg's! Having taking the machine out of the box I was keen to try it out. Reading further, i was amazed at how much 'fuctionality' this system offered, and that this would solve my 'Home Cinema' requirements. The zx-680's offer a huge amount of power (512 watts RMS power rating (1000w pmpo), and multiple connectivity, as well as being 'THX' certified.
