TI-83 Great Calculator

Advantages: Easy to use and very powerfull
Disadvantages: Can't intigrate or differentiate

...I've been using this calculator for the last six years now and it is my favorite model of all Texas instrument calculators. Capabilities: This model is capable of Trig, statistics, multifunction graphing and there are a ton of online programs that can be downloaded to assist in higher level math. In addition literally hundreds of games have been made specifically for the TI-83 model. Functions, Parametric equations, Polar equations, and Sequences can all be graphed using this model. Ti-83 addiction

Advantages: Does anything you could ask it to.
Disadvantages: You forget how to do even the most basic maths without it.

...The MUST HAVE scientific and graphing calculator in terms of functionality. Having done the International Baccalaureate, my TI-83 was an integral part of my life. Insanely difficult to learn how to use simply because it does so much, once you do learn a few tricks with it you're set to do even the most complex calculations in the blink of an eye, assuming you actually know what you're trying to solve. Being a graphing calculator, it does have a relatively large screen, but in the TI-83 this is only about 6 by 4cm. Still that certainly is good enough to see whether your data forms a curve or a straight line. Changing the window on your graphs (i.e. the X and Y scales) is dead easy using the aptly named "Window" button. But that's absolutely nothing. RAZR... DULL or SHARP?

Advantages: Dimensions, light and slim, style and looks, reliability, easy to use.
Disadvantages: Dated and ugly user interface, keypad scratches with heavy use, phonebook needs overhaul, no flash, no video capture

..., this is no longer the case and in fact I haven't even played any of the games. Other Apps: Slideshow and 3D phonebook. Admittedly I haven't used these either but their function is quite self explanatory. Calculator: Kudos to Motorola for including a usable calculator. I have used my fair share of mobile phone calculator applications and I must say this is one of the most intuitive versions I have used. Easy to use and no fiddly bits. While its no Texas Instruments TI-83 Plus, it'll get the job done. Media Centre: (Multimedia) Includes, Themes, Motomixer (make your own ringtones by remixing base tones), Camera, Picture viewer, Sound player, and Video player. How can a calculator feel slow??

Advantages: Cambridge Students MUST use this calculator - only one allowed in exams
Disadvantages: Is awkward to use in my opinion, only use it because I have to

.... Also its just too slow. Were used to waiting for computers but calculators should be faster than you can blink. Also the method of entry, while very nice and pretty, is just not efficient. You type in what you want it to do and then tell it to do it. It basically like a graphics calculator, without the graphics and without enough power. In summary: Too many features, not enough basic power and efficiency in the way it works. If you want these advanced features such as algebra and integration you should get a graphics calculator such as a TI-86 or TI-83. If you want a scientific calculator that is simple to use but packed with features, try the Casio fx-992s. If you want to use a calculator in a Cambridge University exam - this is the one for you. N.B. for any prospective cambridge students, you can buy these from the university...
