TI-83 Great Calculator
Advantages: Easy to use and very powerfull
Disadvantages: Can't intigrate or differentiate
...I've been using this calculator for the last six years now and it is my favorite model of all Texas instrument calculators.
Capabilities:
This model is capable of Trig, statistics, multifunction graphing and there are a ton of online programs that can be downloaded to assist in higher level math. In addition literally hundreds of games have been made specifically for the TI-83 model. Functions, Parametric equations, Polar equations, and Sequences can all be graphed using this model. You can also create new executable programs either on the calculator itself or on a computer. The calculator comes with a usb transfer cord so anything created or found via the computer can be easily transferred to the device.
Layout:
Everything in the TI-83 starts at the home screen, which is blank ready for input of instructions. The 83 does lack...

Ti-83 addiction
Advantages: Does anything you could ask it to.
Disadvantages: You forget how to do even the most basic maths without it.
...The MUST HAVE scientific and graphing calculator in terms of functionality. Having done the International Baccalaureate, my TI-83 was an integral part of my life. Insanely difficult to learn how to use simply because it does so much, once you do learn a few tricks with it you're set to do even the most complex calculations in the blink of an eye, assuming you actually know what you're trying to solve.
Being a graphing calculator, it does have a relatively large screen, but in the TI-83 this is only about 6 by 4cm. Still that certainly is good enough to see whether your data forms a curve or a straight line. Changing the window on your graphs (i.e. the X and Y scales) is dead easy using the aptly named "Window" button. But that's absolutely nothing. With a bit of manual reading (if you can bear the weight of the massive manual) you...

Cool Calculations in Chemistry!
Advantages: Very useful, lots of practice questions
Disadvantages: Only in black and white, expensive
...-level course and contains all the information on the types of questions based around calculations. I have looked all over the book and I can't find which specification it is for so I assume the calculations in A-Level chemistry are pretty universal over all the major exams boards. (I am with AQA and the majority of the book is relevant for me.)
The book is split into 11 chapters - from chapters containing basic formulae to chapters with more difficult aspects of chemistry. Each chapter has information about calculations including worked examples complete with model answers. This gives information about when you would use these calculations in chemistry as well as showing you how they are done before giving some problems for you to try. There are answers and some worked solutions at the back of the book, which help you check your progress...

calculating success!
Advantages: Thoroughly useful if you are studying maths!
Disadvantages: It is a little pricey.
...The Casio fx-9750GII is one of the newest releases in the graphical calculator range from casio, as you would expect from such a large brand its almost faultless!
The calculator comes standard with a 3 year warrantee which is helpful considering the price!
The calculator comes with 64kb RAM and also has a USB port so you can connect it to your computer.
If you havent used a Graphical calculator before and you work with more complex maths regularly i would definatly suggest investing in one, and this is a top of the range model. As with most standard scientific calculators it can convert from fractions to decimals, calculate simple and complex multiplications divisions etc..
but as this is graphical it can do just that little bit more, it also has a very clear icon menu.
The Icon menu clearly shows each available main function...

Casio Calculator
Advantages: Good Price, Does that it says it will, Solar powered
Disadvantages: None that i can think of
...I bought this calculator at my local woolworths as i was after a scientific calculator and one that was cheap(i paid under £10 for this one which seemed a good price).
The calculator is made by Casio which are a well known brand for making anything from calculators to TV's . The dimensions are 84x155x12mm and it is a light too which is a bonus.
The keys are large enough for most people and all the writing is clear on and above the keys.
This scientific calculator with has 249 functions (164 scientific functions) - including statistic functions. It is primarily aimed at secondary school student but i reckon it will be fine for almost any function unless you need the functions of a graphic calculator
It is solar powered so it doesn't require any batteries in order to function however as with all solar powered products, you just...

The perfect calculator
Advantages: Everything
Disadvantages: None really
...and Permutation
Statistics
(STAT-data editor, Standard deviation, Normal distribution calculations, Regression analysis)
Base-n calculations / conversions
Logical operations
Complex number calculations
CALC memory
Engineering symbol calculations
40 scientific calculations
40 metric conversions(20 conversion pairs)
9 variable memories
Keep in mind that It's not a graphic calculator so you won't be able to see graphs of functions but that's not something that everyone needs (I also have a graphic calculator but since I rarely used the graph functions I now only use this one).
What's also very important is the price. This calculator is relatively cheap, quite affortable and easy to find. I could see this model in every shop selling electricals for a price between £10 and £15...

Scientific Calculator
Advantages: Easy to use, reliable, batteries last AGES!
Disadvantages: No solar panel to back up batteries
...I first got this calculator when I was 13 or 14 years old. Our maths teacher told us we needed a scientific calculator and although I already had one, it was different to the one the teacher had. The teacher told us we could buy one through school and this way we would all have the same calculator. Normally it wouldn?t bother me if I was different but in this instance I wanted one the same, as calculations are sometimes worked out slightly differently on different calculators. I love this calculator and have used it happily in many lessons and exams since I first bought it.
~ What is a Scientific Calculator? ~
A scientific calculator is a more complex calculator than the usual calculator you may use. Scientific calculators support mathematical functions such as trigonometry, statistics, algebra and scientific notation.

Great calculator
Advantages: Very cheap and solar powered
Disadvantages: No
...Casio is the leader brand in calculators worldwide up to now it's the only brand I ever use. Bought this one from Argos two years ago only to have it as a spare in case the other dies of batteries in the middle of the exam since it was cheap and it was solar powered so no need to have to worry about batteries.
When I first switched it on I freaked out when I saw the natural typing they added in this new series of models and was very relaxed when I found out you can remove it and use it like the old models. The natural typing is really good for people who first learn how to use an fx calculator but it's slow and to boring for people who are using fx calculators for years.
The features are the same more or less with any other fx calculator and there are many and you have to read the manual if you want to figure them all out but if you...

Next-Gen Graphics? No. Next-Gen Technology? Yes!
Advantages: Original Control System, Great Value.
Disadvantages: Sold out Everywhere!, Lacks the Power of its Rivals, Lacks DVD Player!
...In this review I'm going to be covering Nintendo's Latest Games Console, the Wii.
Graphics 7.5/10
Starting at it's weakest point, the Wii's graphics are only slightly better than the Nintendo Gamecube. It doesn't pack near the graphics capability that the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 do, but they're not horrible.
Power 7.5/10
As far as power goes the Wii once again takes 3rd place against the 360 and the PS3 sporting around a 1GHz processor, 88MB RAM, and a fairly weak Video Card, its not particularly powerful, but that's obviously not the Wii's main purpose. One thing it also lacks is an internal harddrive which is once again found in both of it's rivals, but it does come with half a gig of flash memory which is easily enough to store your game saves.
Control System 9.5/10
Nintendo really scored big with this area...
