A Tidy Little Story

...Now this Little Miss character is probably the one my parents would most like me to be - Little Miss Tidy. Unfortunately for them that is definitely not the case but that doesn't stop this great little book being a great read. Little Miss Tidy is number 22 in the Little Miss series of books which contains 33 stories. It was written by Roger Hargreaves who wrote the first 30 stories in the collection, his son Adam taking over the writing mantle for the final 3. Now in my opinion Little Miss Tidy is a brilliant looking character. She is bright yellow and wears her brown hair in bunches tied with blue bows. She has a huge smile and bright pink cheeks, which match her bright pink heeled shoes perfectly. Easy tidy up

...I purchased this more for myself than for my daughter, as I was getting fed up of her leaving her toys all over the floor, for me to trip on. I paid £4.99p for this but I think I was mainly paying for the name. The reason I did chose Barbie is, as my daughter loves Barbie, I was hoping it would make her use it. I was right she puts all her toys in this when she has finished playing with them. The pop tidy is great, I have had it a few months now, it keeps the house tidy, and is very tough wearing. So far my daughter has played in it, jumped on it and everything, the only thing she has yet to do is spill anything on it loll. This is very easy to store away as it does collapse, but really there is no need to put it away, as I constantly use it for her toys. A smart way to tidy the toys

Advantages: Excellent quality, looks great, safe for children
Disadvantages: Maybe a bit expensive but it is quality

...a quality product and I am sure that it will last for many years as Jacob grows older and the toys change. It may even be passed on to future siblings, who knows? It might be worth doing a bit of investigation on the Internet if you do want to purchase one of these as John Lewis are not exclusive suppliers of John Crane products and there may be cheaper ones to be had elsewhere although having said that I wouldn?t expect to find it a lot cheaper because of the quality of the product. For example I have found the plain chest and both the painted ones at www.kidsrooms.co.uk at £49,99. The full range can be viewed at www.pintoys.com and although there aren?t many details on the site the photographs of the products are very good. In short I would definitely recommend this product as a smart way of keeping toys tidy and maybe even teaching...

...?t breathe very deeply. I became sleepy. I lay down and was falling asleep I knew this would be the end ?there?s no place like home? I croaked as I fell into never ending sleep. I woke on the bench I had started my adventure on. I felt like Ebenezer scrooge on Christmas morning. I looked at the paper and it was a story that I remember reading about an ordinance for recycling. I saw the young gentleman walking off, the crisps packet on the floor behind him. ?Excuse me? I shouted to him ?don?t forget your rubbish?. He turned and scowled at me before walking off. I went and picked up the packet and put it in the bin. Washing Winnie - Popping Pooh

Advantages: Has a multitude of uses from toy tidy to wash basket

...When I found out I was pregnant with my daughter I was about to live my dream and decorate her nursery a la Pooh Bear. The bedding, the curtains - everything - except I couldnt find a laundry basket for absolutely ages.... and then I found the Pop Tidy in Tesco of all places and I paid a tenner for it. It is billed and advertised more as a toy tidy and is rated as suitable from 2 years however I use it to put my daughters clothes in when I am changing her (she is currently 9 months). With the diagonal slot across the top it is ideal for throwing her clothes in from the other side of the room which means I dont have to leave her on the changing mat or have to go and pick up the clothes later. Bear faced fun!!!

Advantages: Henson puppets rock
Disadvantages: gets addictive

...and Pop are 2 fun loving otters who live in the pond in the garden. Treelo is a mad lemur who finds it difficult to stay still for long and gets very excited. Ray and Luna are the sun and moon who sing songs with Bear in the morning and at night. Then there is Shadow - a shadow who tells strange little stories or tells rhymes in the form of shadow puppetry. There are also other characters who pop in to the show from time such as Doc Hogg - the piggy doctor and Grandma Flutter who is Tutter's granny. In this dvd we have 3 episodes of Bear all to do with cleaning and tidying up. Working like a Bear is the first in which we see Tutter doing a bit of spring cleaning and hear the songs Working Like a Kid and Everybody in the Tub where the friends all get clean at the end of the day. Review of Bear In The Big Blue House - Tidy Time With Bear (DVD)

Slick way to tidy lawn edges

Advantages: Relatively quick and easy
Disadvantages: The ground needs to be soft the first time you use it

...on your paving to control the depth of the cut. I have never enjoyed edging the lawn which is why most of my grass runs straight up to the path so that I can mow straight across it. The drawback is that inevitably the grass starts to encroach on to the path and, over time, the paths get narrower and the lawn gets bigger! Plus whilst it looks 'natural' and gives the lawn a 'soft edge' after a time it starts to look a little raggy so I end up having to do the hard job of tidying it up. As you can doubtless imagine it wasn't too long after its arrival that I decided to give it a 'test drive'. Because we have had something of a wet Summer the soil in my garden hasn't set hard like concrete and is still relatively soft. Neat And Tidy Cuckoos, Coffee And Cakes

The fields this time of year (end of May) are a mixture of colours with great swathes of vivid yellow rape seed contrasting with the various greens. It looks lovely, especially when mixed with a windmill or two and traditional red brick houses, some still with steep thatched roofs. And trees, so many trees and bushes breaking up the flatness. It's all so neat and tidy. Yes, I think that's what struck me, the order and neatness everywhere, and this includes the towns as well.
