No Breakfast at Tiffany's
Review of Tiffany & Co (Shop) by
Tempus_Fugit
Advantages: beautiful jewellery, beautiful surroundings
Disadvantages: inflated prices, you pay for the Tiffany name, lots of tourists just looking
...What would a visit in New York be without a visit at the Tiffany & Co flagship store on Fifth Avenue. Situated next to Trump Tower at the corner of 5th Ave and 57th Street. The outside of the building will not give much away of what you are about to experience when inside. There are two entrances to the store, the main entrance in 5th Avenue with doorman to help you open the door or push the carousel door for you and a smaller door in 57th Street, more a side entrance where you can slip in and out unseen.
Enter through the main doors to get the total wow effect. You are in a totally different world. In front of you lies a very large hall for a jewellery store with enormously high ceilings and hanging lights.
You instantly get the feeling that this store will not have anything you can afford without taking out a second mortgage...

Tiffany goes butch
Review of Tiffany For Men by
Stoobie
Advantages: None
Disadvantages: Nasty smell, nasty name
...I'm sure my granny thought it would be an absolute hoot to give me a completely non-descript aftershave/cologne called Tiffany for my Christmas. Fresh from the counter of Avon, and priced at £19.99, I am sure that granny thought she was doing a good thing, and judging from it's packaging, you would expect it to be a semi-decent product.
The powdery grey/blue box is quite nice and dusky, but you are immediately put off by the name. Tiffany for men. I mean - hello? What self respecting man - even a gay one - would go around proclaiming to be wearing Tiffany for men?
So, just to keep granny quiet, I opened the box with fake pleasure in my eyes, desperately trying to hide from her my distaste with her choice of present, and secretly wondering if she was trying to tell me something. Well, when I smelled it, I could hide...

Really BIG lava lamp.
Review of Giant Grande Lava Lamp by
drewish
Advantages: Huge. Soothing. Good value.
Disadvantages: Takes forever to heat up.
...A lava lamp is, in principle, very simple. It consists of a lamp, which heats up a glass bulb filled with a waxy solid and a liquid. These cannot mix together and must have very similar densities. As the solid heats up, its density is lowered, so it rises. This cools it down and it then falls to the bottom of the lamp, creating a strangely soothing effect. In practice, making one yourself would involve messing about with expensive and perhaps flammable chemicals, so I wouldn't bother trying. It is much easier just to buy one yourself.
The Giant Grande Lava Lamp comes in two colours yellow and blue or yellow and violet. It is truly enormous at 27" and is guaranteed to be a focal point in your room. It is not called "giant" and "grande" for nothing!
My lamp is a yellow and blue model. Although the product description says "yellow...

return to tiffany
Review of Tiffany & Co (Shop) by
jo_field26
Advantages: great jewellery
Disadvantages: expensive
...When the film Legally Blonde was released i loved the film and whats more i loved the silver Return to Tiffany Jewellery that Reece Witherspoon wore in it. With that famous little blue box and white ribbon you know exactly what your getting.
When i got my first full time job i was paid weekly and the first investment that i made was the Tiffanny sterling silver bracelet, which i love and have not taken it off in 7 years.
Each item is carefuly packed in a pouch and then into a famous blue box, then tied with a white ribbon and then in the famous Tiffany and Co bag.
Tiffany and Co is a great prestidge Jewellers, although there are a limited number of branches in the United Kingdom, this is a brand that is known throughout the world. If you are looking to buy a piece of Tiffany and Co America offers a better saving...

Tiffany's- expensive but worth it?
Review of Tiffany & Co (Shop) by
saphira
Advantages: lovely packaging, funky, clasic jewellery that never dates
Disadvantages: can take a veeeeeerrrryyy long time to be served, sales assitants aren't always as helpful!
...There's nothing like the feeling of buying jewellery- yes diamonds are forever and yes they would be cool if you have a rich partner, have just robbed a bank, made millions on a dot.com company or perhaps winning the lottery.....not got any of the above? then Sterling silver from Tiffany's is the next best thing (almost!)
Recently I purchased a bracelet and matching necklace- sterling silver- £60 for the bracelet and £115 for the necklace. Everyone knows the traditional link chain chunky bracelet and necklace- every has it...a bit too common for my liking it seems that EVERY other female has one- so I decided to go for something different- and voila I did. I purchased the venetian chain range- it's gorgeous but if I'm honest I could have bought it for half the price (without the label) from a cheaper chain store...well something...

Tut Tut Tiffany Trott
Review of The Trials of Tiffany Trott - Isabel Wolff by
serza
Advantages: Absolutley hilarious!
Disadvantages: Its as if she's written about you!!!!
...I must say, I've never actually read a romance novel or indeed anything comedic before I read this book, - I'm more of a scare-myself-silly kinda girl - but I'm glad I did as it opened up a whole new world to me!
After getting it as an xmas present I thought 'what the heck, i've got nothing to lose' so I got stuck in...
It's written by Isabel Wolff (1999) and set in London. It follows the life of Tiffany Trott, a 37 year old copy wirter who has recently been dumped and on the look out for a new bloke. Now, like most females, she has a list of what she doesn't want in a man. The thing with Tiffany though is, her list is slightly mad! Most of us don't care what they're like as long as we fancy them (right?), but with Tiffany they can't be:
- Golfers
- Cross dressers
- or have 'awful' names such as Terry or Kevin.
Just...

A FELINE BEAT IN TIFFANY STREET
Review of The Cats of Tiffany Street - Sarah Hayes by
SeasonTicketless
Advantages: Easy to read, excellent pictures
Disadvantages: Doesn't seem to be in print anymore
...A FELINE BEAT IN TIFFANY STREET
Who’d have thought that a 2½ year old would know the art of bribery? Well, just about any parent, that’s who, and the SeasonTicketless household is no different! Come 8pm, which is now the deemed time for tired little girls to be in bed, as opposed to letting them crash out on the sofa, myself and the two girls traipse upstairs to bed. Placing the youngest in her cot with a kiss on the cheek and a bottle of milk, before tucking in the eldest, and repeating the same routine with juice instead of milk and I am quickly trying to sneak out of the room. Despite having achieved tiptoeing at speeds of Linford Christie in his prime, I can guarantee that the cry will go up: “Story daddy, story!”
Not that I mind reading to the kids. To be honest I’ve not really had to read anything out aloud since I...

Never tired of Tiffanys
Review of Breakfast At Tiffany's (Wide Screen) by
dancingfishes
Advantages: Great feel-good factor. Totally timeless
Disadvantages: None
...There must be few of you out there that haven’t heard of “Breakfast at Tiffanys”. But how many of you have actually watched it? If you haven’t, then I urge you to. It’s a magical, delightful and timeless film that will be enjoyed over and over again. The film was made in 1961 and was based on a book by Truman Capote. I’m afraid that I’ve not read the book so I can’t comment on how faithful the film adheres to the original storyline. All I know is that for years and years after first seeing this film - I wanted to be Audrey Hepburn. And who could blame me - in this film she is georgeous.
Essentially the plot is simple – Audrey Hepburn plays Holly Golightly, a high-priced escort with dreams of marrying an older, rich man. She isn't wealthy but she likes to pretend to be. She parties...

Dont We All Just Want To Go To Tiffanys
Review of Breakfast At Tiffany's (Wide Screen) by
JayHall1991
Advantages: Everything
Disadvantages: Nothing
...I know that this has all been said before, but Breakfast at Tiffanies is just so BEAUTIFUL. The setting, the script, the actors, EVERYTHING about this movie is just perfect, now I’m not a great one for Romantic Comedies, but this film is just a classic The premise of the story is that a struggling writer meets up with a ambitious socialite, there is instantly some spark, but any chance of romance seems to be squashed when each party seem to be involved with diffrn't people... I think that Audrey Hepburn really does illuminate the screen as Holly Golightly the ever ambitious socialite, her portrayal of a otherwise unlikable charecter is quite remarkable as she takes her role in so many directions in such a short amount of time. The story is predictable yes, but it is done in such an un clished way that you can forgive it's unoriginality...

Give me a bacon sandwich
Review of Breakfast At Tiffany's (Special Edition) by
earlofaldgate
Advantages: the fashions
Disadvantages: the comedy
...with gangsters - Peppard did what exactly -became a friendly neighbour for a month? He turned out to be quite wooden & fell into what i could only describe as a typical 60's leading man role
I know its supposed to be a romantic 'comedy' but I found the comedic style not to be to my tastes. For example, at the party when mag Wildwood collapses from drink and Holly cries 'Timber!' or Mickey Rooney's preposterous bumbling clichéd chinaman banging his head on a lamp directly above his pillows & being unable to move through his apartment without knocking over everything in sight. truly dreadful.
My favourite part of the story was when they went out into New York to do things together that they had never done before, Holly wanted to take Paul to Tiffanys, the only place she feels truly happy & there's a touching moment when he tries to buy her...
