...I have played every Tiger Woods game since they started to come out many, many years ago. In the latest title they have ditched the "Legends" element of the game where you get to play old greats such as Arnold Palmer / Seve Ballesteros etc and concentrated on developing new game modes. At first i was un-sure about the new games but after I had played them a few times I was hooked. The games are: PGA Tour Season mode: This is one of the remaining games from previous titles. As before you play the calendar entering events to build up prize money and to improve your skills. Elimination mode: You play as part of a team of golfers against another team. A player from opposing teams takes it in turns to play a hole each against each other. After every hole the loser is eliminated from the team. Traditional Games: Play on your own... Read review

The same rule applies with Tiger Woods 99, EA's newest golf-game franchise. Yes, along with the vigor and exuberance the young Tiger has brought to the game of golf, so too has EA livened up the often drab trappings of virtual golf. .........as the old Nike advert goes. And have nike cashed in or what! They beat the others to the most popular, most talented golfer, probably of all time. The tiger is most known for his incredible power. I watched a competition last year where he drove the ball 370 yards. That is a phenominal distance. I'v also seen him drive par 4's before.....with a 3 wood! It's incredible power that is unparralled at the moment. Tiger is not only incredibly powerful, he has the sweetest touches around the greens. I've never seen him hit a chip to outside 5 inches before, and when he gets out the sand wedge for those all important 60 yard pitches, it's just amazing how close he can get it. Tiger's main problem is he's an emotional man. You would be able to tell that by the way he reacts when he wins tournaments or sinks long putts. The emotion... Read review

...Its kind of a tradition to make a sport game using the name of a sporting hero/legend but the normality is that the game will turn out to be fairly poor because the developers tend to become too complacent due to the endorsements. The Tiger Woods series from EA hasn’t really been that great either, but of late EA have really stepped up a gear and released some excellent titles such as The Lord of the Ring: Two Towers, Fifa 2003 and most notably Tiger Woods 2003. I’m not too sure why EA suddenly decided to up the quality of their releases given their generally mediocre track record, but its most certainly nothing to complain about that’s for sure...
