Advantages: great golf game with loads of modes

...Each year Tiger Woods PGA tour has always been the best golf game available for the ps3 (and most other consoles) and once again it holds this title. It is, in my view, a very good sports game and one to rank up highly with other available sports games such as the football ones of Pro Evo 7 and Fifa 08. ...Another year, another Tiger Woods PGA Tour game. The standard of the Tiger Woods games over the years has been relatively high, with Tiger's game being better than most other golf sims. This review focuses on the Wii version of PGA Tour 09. The game starts with a tutorial, which is very helpful for begginers, allowing you to get used to the sometimes fiddly controls for whacking the ball with your club. In the latest title they have ditched the "Legends" element of the game where you get to play old greats such as Arnold Palmer / Seve Ballesteros etc and concentrated on developing new game modes. ...can Press A to fast forward once you've started to get bored of it. You can play on your own against the big boys such as Tiger etc. or you can play against an opponent. This is one of the few wii games I have which are equally fun either way. You can also start your own career competing in the PGA tour season. You cannot move onto the next match in the season until you are getting round in par or under. It takes a bit of time to get used to this method of playing as you literally take a swing with the wii mote like a real golfer as opposed to my old method of clicking the mouse on a line. Tiger Woods PGA Tour 10 (PS3) is OK

Advantages: Good new putting system. Good career gameplay.
Disadvantages: Similar to previous games. Graphics feel sightly animated.

For those of you who have played a tiger woods? game before, the swing used to be too easy as you didn't have to follow through straight. Now everything is recorded and is made clear on the screen so that you can see where you have gone wrong. The graphics, in my opinion, seem to have gone beyond looking realistic and sometimes making it look too computerized, like it is animated. However, the graphics are still really good and improve enjoyment of the game. There are new game play modes, like new years. However in my opinion they don't add too much to the game but a different way in playing golf itself by challenging yourself. The one thing that I think lacks from these games are different courses as you basically get the same ones each year...

Tiger Woods 08 for Wii - Flawless Brilliance

...As a golf lover and lover of the Tiger Woods series on PS2, I was excited about how they would make this game perfect to utilise the Wii's unique features. The way the game plays is excellent, you have to put the big swing on off the tee, but you also have to have touch and skill around the greens and when in bunkers. The putting is outstanding as you firslty have to read the putt, then you can use the putting meter to practise your shot, then adjust and hit it for real which is excellent for beginners or if you have an important putt. The actual game is brilliant, you can do the Tiger challenge which everybody who has played a Tiger Woods game before will know is good fun and is a real challenge. If your new to the tiger woods games then it's probably worth a look, but if you have tiger woods 07 then i would stick with that. The game costs around 30 pound from all good games stores....
