Advantages: Good location, good standard, clean and pleasant
Disadvantages: A bit anonymous

...up and they'll have never heard of me. While it's hard to find anything negative about the hotel, even the price is fair value for the city, it was still a fairly anonymous part of our holiday. The lack of a bar or lounge areas meant that we spent very little time there so it neither added to nor detracted from our time in the city which is a shame. The Square is well placed for exploring the city and is fairly priced. It's clean, well managed and well maintained. I'm happy to recommend it as a base, just don't expect spend much time there....

The Westin New York at Times Square

Advantages: Fantastic Location - you couldn't wish for a nicer part of the city to stay in
Disadvantages: Reception staff are a little unfriendly - DO NOT USE THE IN ROOM PHONE!!!!!!

...I visited The Westin in October 2005 as a gift from my parents for my 21st birthday, they treated myself and my boyfriend to a 5 night stay in a superior room. I'll start by giving you some afcts about the hotel and then i'll give you my experience. The Westin New York at Times Square is on the corner of 43rd Street and 8th Avenue, it has 863 rooms and 126 club rooms and suites. It has a restaurant (shula's steak house) a bar (bar 10) and a coffee shop that does eat in and take away (Cosi's). It has 24 hour room service, a gym and spa, a ticket desk and a gift shop. Times Square - Not the Best of NYC !

Advantages: Been There Done That
Disadvantages: Tourism and Over Crowding

...Don't get me wrong, I used to live in New York and I'm a big fan of the city. But what I will never understand is why tourists head to Times Square, like moths heading to light! Times Square is a busy, stressful and fairly dull place to 'hang-out' while in the city. Although it does attract a few great landmarks and can be a fun photo opportunity - it is nothing to get overly excited about. Area's such as the Lower east side and Soho are now attracting many more tourists due to the regeneration and introduction of many new stylish bars, shops and restaurants. They are safe areas and full of gret personalities who can be very welcoming to visitors. But you want Theatre right? Well yes you can pay over the odds to see a Musical or spend hours in line waiting for cheap tickets... but why not check out some great off...

Experience Shopping at Eldon Square!

Advantages: Good Shops
Disadvantages: Mainly highstreet stores

...When I was younger I used to go to Eldon Square in the school holidays with my grandma and we would meet my sister and my nephews in Newcastle and go shopping. Therefore, for me Eldon Square has some happy memories as well as some great shops :) Eldon Square is an indoor shopping centre located in the heart of Newcastle and as I am now studying in Newcastle I have been here quite often recently. Eldon Square first opened in 1976 and serves a catchment area of 2.7 million people. There are a number of entrances but I usually enter at the one on Northumberland Street. This leads straight to the shops. It is lovely walking into Eldon Square on a cold day, as it is really warm (so especially good at this time of year!) The entrance on Northumberland Street is on a bit of an incline and it's the usual type of flooring in indoor...

Review of Eldon Square (Newcastle)

As wonderful as you thought it would be

Advantages: Bright lights, huge signs, hundreds of shops, bars, restaurants, never sleeps
Disadvantages: You won't want to leave

...shows to Sean John's latest aftershave; the newest pair of sneakers to a cold pint of Budweiser; a popular bank to a recent cinema release. The amount of photos I took just of all the signs was incredible! It really is like what you see on TV. Around Times Square there are many things to keep you occupied. In the centre of the Square is TKTS, the discount theatre office, which offers top Broadway show tickets with up to 50% off. You can find out what time the office opens each day on the signs outside but you need to get there early as the queues end up circling round the square. You can climb up the stairs that take you onto the top of the TKTS office to get an even better vantage point for those precious photos. You can take a seat and watch all the going-ons around you at the bottom of the steps, although it was too cold to do this...

Time out in New York

Advantages: In the heart of the Theatre District
Disadvantages: Breakfast is a waste of time

...Having done some research on the net before travelling I was expecting a huge shopping mall underneath the hotel as the lobby isn't until the 21st floor but although there are shops (including a massive HMV), restaurants and a 25 screen cinema they are separate from the anything to do with the hotel. The hotel is about a 30 second walk to the nearest subway station and about 3 mintues from the heart of Times Square. You are also in walking distance of Macey's (6/7 blocks), a flagship Gap and Victoria's Secret and plenty of other shops and attractions (Madisson Square Gardens, river cruises, theatres etc etc). The Hilton Times Square has two entrances, one on 42nd Street and one on 41st street. When giving directions to your cab driver make sure you give them the 41st street entrance as this is quieter and you have time to get out...

Big savings in the Big Apple !

The one thing that might prevent you from going is the cost. $100 (£65) for decent seats is extremely expensive considering the amount you have probably paid to get to NYC. Review of TKTS--Times Square

Blue Square Hotel- Apparently near, yet so far.

Advantages: Lovely bedrooms, large shower, bar staff friendly, luggage room to leave bags.
Disadvantages: Too far from city centre, transport costs to hotel very dear, area undesirable.

...My partner and I recently visited Amsterdam (in late May for 4 nights) and as I was so busy with work, left it up to him to book the hotel and take care of the details. We have been to Amsterdam before and the hotels we usually stay at had no vacancies, so he booked us into the Blue Square Hotel, and proudly showed me the documents he had printed off and the website. "Looks lovely, oh it says it's close to the town centre- within walking distance- can't wait!" was my reaction. Out of the airport we trundled a few weeks later with our cases and got into a waiting taxi. He drove us to the hotel. It took a LONG time. As he was unloading our cases with us he said "This is not a good area for you." I asked him what he meant by that. "Is not a good area and is too far to walk to town, you will have to use trams. ...On our recent visit to New York one of the things on our' to do' list was a visit to Madison Square Gardens. Whether you are a sports fan or not most people have heard of this great entertainment centre. History I fact there have been four Madison Square Gardens ( MSG from now on). The First Garden 1 (1879- 1890 ) Garden 1 was situated at Madison Square; 26th Street and Madison Avenue. It was a building without a roof and was named MSG by William Vanderbilt in 1879 and was used for horse shows, dog shows and circuses. Boxing events were also staged there. Choco squares, for me and the kids!

Advantages: Is even better with milk.
Disadvantages: Not the healthiest cereal out there.

...As any one who is familiar with my reviews will know, my children love cereals, the sweeter the better! So when faced with the product I will now review, they just had to try it! The product I will now review is "Asda choc squares". The packaging is bright and vibrant, the box is purple in colour with a large oval patch of yellow in the centre. On top of the yellow is the brand and product name in the same purple as the rest of the box, very effective! For some strange reason there is a picture of a "mad dog" peering over the lettering?! Around the lettering there are pieces of the cereal flying about, some of which are broken in two so as to show of the chocolate centre.
