Advantages: Stunning presentation, vast amount of content, not too Western-centric, great index(es), cheap now
Disadvantages: Heavy

Review of World History Atlas

I've got the whole world in my hands

Advantages: Very good coverage overall, maps look gorgeous, lovely to handle, good index
Disadvantages: South America and Russia can feel slightly hard done by

...as visual. It therefore goes without saying that I own several atlases, each of varying levels of usefulness and attractiveness. Review of Philip's Concise Atlas of the World

Cloud Atlas

Advantages: The sheer grandeur and ambition are worth praise - and the overall execution is simply excellent
Disadvantages: Some character consistencies aren't so well explained
