Tiny PC's Tiny Service
Review of Tiny Computers (Shop) by
Athravan
Advantages: None!
Disadvantages: Bad Customer Service, Irresponsible, Supplies bad hardware, Incorrect hardware, No Apologies, Need I go on?
...I have owned a Tiny PC for about a year now, and every day I wish I didn't! Every time i turn my monitor on I get screen problems, it fades from blue, to green, and sometimes blacks out completely. I'm currently waiting on my fourth monitor from them - all for the same problems! I think they are just rotating broken monitors around the populace and hoping no one will notice!
It takes hours on the phone to them to get any kind of response, and even after purchasing an extended warranty (because I knew something else would break) they are slow to respond, and try to make excuses about fixing the problems.
So far I have had nothing but bad service from them, apart from the monitor problems, I've needed several replacement computers, a new motherboard, a new modem because they gave me one that wasn't compatable with anything - how...

Tiny Computers are a tiny success
Review of Tiny Computers (Shop) by
fairypancakes
Advantages: Some good range of Computers
Disadvantages: Not very good upgrade and maintanance capabilities
...Tiny computers, just as the name suggests, are a very “tiny” success in the PC world. My advice just simply before I start, is to avoid Tiny.
About 2 years ago I went to buy a Tiny computer, looking for something in the budget range and being able to access the internet, and at the time, have a large hard drive. Now the salespersons were not very helpful. After simply telling them what I required, they only pointed towards the models in the high price brackets. Now this is not what I call “budget”. After explaining once again what I would like they answered, well we will have to wait till our next catalogue is released. Thanks Tiny what a lot of help.
Now being completely thrown off of the idea from buying from Tiny, we went back a few weeks later. This time they shew us through the latest catalogue, once again to find not much...

Believe it or not TINY are good
Review of Tiny Computers (Shop) by
Christophene
Advantages: Very helpfull and efficient staff and the PC does exactly what the sales person said. I did not feel any pressure to buy my PC from him.
Disadvantages: When I ordered my TINY PC I had a wait of 4 weeks before it could be delivred, but i guess this is a downfall of haveing a PC made to order.
...I bought my TINY PC about a year ago now and I have had 11 months of trouble free computing!
The day my PC came everything ran smoothly! TINY do not usually specify a time of delivery but because I needed to know approximately when the PC would be delivered TINY done all that they could to give me an unofficial estimate. They were right too give or take an hour. I found them extremely helpful.
Their staff are polite and very knowledgeable about their machines and products. I received all the advice I could have ever needed and they even told me a particular machine that I was looking at was not as good as a special offer they would soon have on!
The end PC package was:
Intel Pentium 3, 700mhz
19 Inch monitor
20 Gig hard drive
Subwoofer with great speakers
Scanner
Lexmark printer
Very stylish desk
Very...

DO NOT GET A TINY COMPUTER, EVER!
Review of Tiny Computers (Shop) by
Chazzer3
Advantages: Cool Logo, Friendly Staff
Disadvantages: Laptops Heavy, Mine Gave up After 2 Years, Expensive, Faulty Things, Durability, Accesories, ports on Laptops, + More
...I bought a Tiny computer because, at my school everyone was getting laptops and all the teachers thought they were great things that helped your school work, so me and my dad started hunting through all sorts of PC books, until we found an advert displaying Tiny Computers, this all seemed great but oh how we were wrong……….
Customer Service
=
At the time when Tiny actually owned shops, my family were on an outing and we went into Tiny to see the laptops in person, when we walked through the door the staff were very kind and almost instantly came up and asked us about what we want, (creating a very good impression). The staff showed us the laptop that we were looking for and gave us a demonstration, all very helpful. They also then showed us some of the alternative laptops, but we went for the one we had our eye...

Introducing George, my Tiny baby.
Review of Tiny - 5-3500 PCI Express System by
sandemp
Advantages: Fast | Quiet | Handles video conversion exceptionally well |
Disadvantages: The file system it comes with
...Let me introduce you to my Tiny baby, George, the most powerful computer system I have owned, and at the time of purchase (about 5 months ago) just about the most powerful computer you could buy for under a thousand pounds. Now I can't tell you much about expandability, as I have never opened the case up, but I can you about the specifications and how it performs out of the box. Again I can't tell you how well all of the particular functions work (as I have no need for some of them), but I can tell you how well the functions I do use work, along with the improvements I've seen with the various different types of software I regularly use.
* Before I start, I should explain that I do NOT use this as a gaming system, but mainly for working with video files along with surfing the web and a little word processing.
As this is a complete...

TINY ARE THE BEST IN MY BOOKS
Review of Tiny Computers (Shop) by
sim5
Advantages: Friendly Helpful advise, PC is interest free until Next Year!!
Disadvantages: Tiny Seems to have a very Bad Reputation
...I know that many people have had really bad experiences with Tiny but I still think they are the best - but then that just my experience I suppose!!
I recently decided to buy a new computer after my old computer was dying under pressure. I decided to start researching the main PC retailers such as Dell Computers, Dan Computers, Time and Tiny Computers.
I already knew that Tiny Computers had quite a poor reputation for after sales service from reading various IT magazines. After comparing all the retailers on various factors I decided that I wanted to find out more about Tiny Computers because they seemed to have the type of PC packages that I was looking for. I decided to drop into my local Tiny Computers showroom where I spoke to a sales advisor. The sales advisor was brillant, he told me what I should look out for in my new PC...

Tiny are hugely disappointing
Review of Tiny Computers (Shop) by
Andybhoy
Advantages: None at all
Disadvantages: Way too many
...What follows, is a shortened version of what happened to me, when I bought a PC from Tiny Computers. They are now bankrupt but bought out by Time computers. Time have a similar reputation to that of the one Tiny was known by, but I have no personal experience of them, so cannot draw a conclusion fairly.
This op is more about knowing your rights and what to do when you buy a PC. Tiny are just my case in point.
The point of the op is two-fold; to warn potential computer buyers about unethical practices in the industry, and to inform them a little about their rights, under The Sale of Goods Act.
Some sites to peruse, if you wish to get to know the rights you have, that some businesses will attempt to deny you;

I've Got A Tiny One
Review of Tiny Computers (Shop) by
ceminem
Advantages: Reliable and good service
Disadvantages: Prices may be a bit higher than others
...Yes I've got a Tiny one, PC that is. About two years ago I purchased what was then the state of the art Pentium II MMX 450Mhz ultra system for a very princely price of £2000+. Oh how times have changed since then, now I can buy a computer that supercedes mine three times as fast and for half the price I paid! How annoying and frustrating it is, but I guess you will have to feel cheated otherwise if you put it off with the thought of I'll get the next one, you may never get round to it with the rapid development of computers these days. Now, after my ramblings on the unfair home PC industry heres my rundown on the one they call Tiny.
The Tiny I purchased my PC from was the store in Bold Street, Liverpool. I still remember all the eager beavers of the salesman, pouncing on everyone that stepped foot into their terrority, even...

Tiny by name but not by nature
Review of Tiny Computers (Shop) by
Genki_dama
Advantages: ?!?!?!
Disadvantages: ?!?!?!
...After my old PC broke I went looking for a good company to supply me with a PC and warranty and good customer service. I went to lots shops and outlets in order to find a PC that would suit me and my needs. I went to several shops from the main suppliers. PC world, Time computres places like that. I also went along to several small suppliers in my hometown.
After my horrible experience with my past PCs that broke or were faulty, I was ever weary as I went looking for a PC to buy. I settled on a PC from Tiny. The system I got comprised of:
Pentium III processor 750mhz
17inch monitor
Speakers
Scanner
Microsoft Intellimouse
56k Internal modem
Windows 98
Epson Stylus Color 460 Printer
Varies software, including Encarta and adobe photodelux and a few games.
For approximately £1,500
Compared to other quotes I...

My time with tiny.com and Time computers
Review of Tiny Computers (Shop) by
danall2
Advantages: Great prices
Disadvantages: Poor customer service
...on the website as taking 21 days from cleared payment to be delivered, but after just ONE day of cleared payment I got a text saying my system was on its way!! That is what I call service.
The laptop then arrived the next day by courier by 7:45am and I had it up and running by 8:00am. The laptop is quite heavy but that is something that I knew about anyway. tiny.com do not hide any information and the size and weight is given on all products and if people are not prepared to look at the details before they order and then complain when the order is received, then I believe these people have nothing to complain over!!
The running of the system is great, fast and equipped with lots of extras that most PC companies do not offer and if they do you have to pay a lot of extra for them.
I did, however, have a few problems with 'Messenger Service...
