...Just finished a shop at babys r us and have come home with a fun new thing waiting for the arrival of my new baby. It is the Tippitoes baby bouncer which i have seen in action with my friends little girl and just had to buy one. It is a bouncer that you hang in your doorway and can amuse your baby from 3 months old. Weight up to 25lbs and is medically approved which cant be bad. It has a blue padded supportive seat and brightly rainbow coloured straps. My friends little girl has so much fun in hers and is so ready for a nice long nap after a 15 minute session in her one. Excellent gentle exercise for your baby while you sit back and enjoy you well deserved cup of tea! Stacks neatly away at the end of the day and the seat is fully washable on 40c. Advantages: Very supportive for baby, Compact storage. Easy to clean. easy to assemble on your own
Disadvantages: The spreader bar is not entirely comfortable to hold if using the bouncer as a baby walking aid

...I have used the green doorway tippitoes door bouncer for both of my children. Both Children were able to hold their heads up well before three months and so It was just a matter of waiting until they were near the recommended 3 months and big enough for their body length to fit in the harness. My daughter was so petie that at 3 months her armpits only just managed to clear the side harness! My son however was that much bigger and had a more comfortable experience as soon as he was able. I gradually increased the time that they were in it. Until they found out how to actually bounce, I restrictd their use of the bouncer to 5 minutes as I was worried about the circulation in their legs. However once they became proficient at bouncing / turning round etc, I found that as long as I kept them in my sight, I was well able to get on with my... Read review

...I bought the tippitoes for my daughter when she was 4 and a half months old. I shopped around which was worthwhile as there is a difference of about £5 between retailers. I bought it from John Lewis in the end where it was £19. The main disadvantage of this bouncer is that I found it fiddly to get my daughter in and out. You either take the harness off the frame and liel the child in whilst trying to pull it up like a giant pair of pants (while child is wriggling and getting frustrated) or sort of hover child over it while attached to the framethen once their feet are in the hole you sort of drop the child in! Then away they bounce. My daughter took a few days to understand how to bounce rather than hand but now at 6 months will happily hop about for about 10 mins. Advantages: lets baby practise standing up, keeps him/her happy for a while!
Disadvantages: only to be used for 20 mins at a time, a bit tricky to get on and off with one adult

The harness is padded with foam, which keeps baby comfortable and also makes sure that he or she cannot overheat if they get carried away with a big bouncing session! I was initially a bit worried about the safety aspects of bouncers, which is why it was important to me to choose a well known and respected make. The tippitoes one has passed lots of strict safety tests (for example, the straps are not close enough to ever come in contact with your baby's face.) It is suitable for up to 20 minutes at a time, or until baby gets bored, whichever comes first. It's NOT safe to leave your baby in the bouncer unattended. ...in 1 Entertainer. We had looked at it in the Mothercare Catalogue and wondered who on earth would waste such large amounts of money on such things as that. My son wasn’t going to have a play pen but learn from an early age the word ‘no’ so that we wouldn’t have to worry going to other people’s houses! He was given an ELC (Early Learning Centre) Blossom Farm inflatable ring which he loved from just a few weeks old. He was a baby who really wanted to be held all the time, day or night, but would be happy to sit in the ring for ten minutes watching the world go buy. It got to the stage where he started to kick back and attempt to slide out of the ring. What where we going to do with him now? With him being very petite (not premature), at six months he still didn’t fit into his Tippitoes door bouncer as the harness went up to his neck... Read review
