4 slots or 2 slots
Review of Delonghi CT04 Argento 4 Slice Stainless Steel Toaster by
oldwasp
Advantages: Toast 4 slicers, seperate toasting elements
Disadvantages: Slots could be wider for thick bread, pop up does not lift crumpets high enough.
...of the bread that can be used to about 2.5cms
Electrical cable is 30" long and unlike the kettle does not have a moulded plug so to change the fuse you have to open the plug.

There are two sets of controls duplicated on each side on the front of the toaster. Each one controls the bread slots above them.
Control lever/high rise facility
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Make sure the toaster is plugged in and turned on as the lever will not stay down if it is not.
Place bread in slot and press lever down this will automatically start the heating elements. Once the bread has toasted the lever will pop up and the element will turn off.
Average size bread can easily be removed as it comes above the top of the toaster, but smaller things like crumpets and bagels will require the high rise facility to be used. To do this just push...
Review of Kenwood TT 350 Toasters by
freelancer1
Advantages: Fair price. Defrost and reheat functions. Overheating protection.
Disadvantages: A bit bulky, warming rack seems a little pointless.
...?
The Verdict on the Kenwood 2-Slice Toaster with Warming Rack TT350 (White)
The Kenwood 2-Slice Toaster with Warming Rack TT350 (White) is a great toaster and serves its purpose with style. Mine has lasted and lasted and I'd recommend this toaster to you.
Specifications of the Kenwood 2-Slice Toaster with Warming Rack TT350 (White)
*Overall Size - 12 x 7 inches. 7 inches high(not including height of Warming Rack of Questionable Use - you'll never use it anyway).
*Slot size - both slots 5.5 x 1.5 inches. 5.5 inches deep when in use. I find the slots fit most breads and bagels.
*Cable length - about 27 inches.
The Best Toaster in the World
Review of Dualit DB2S Toasters by
Freespirit
Advantages: Perfect toast every time - very reliable
Disadvantages: Bulky and quite expensive
...Dualit have been producing toasters since 1946 and now they have the reputation for being the best in the world. They are expensive but I think they are worth it.
These toasters don’t come cheap. The best price I have found on the internet for a 2 slice toaster is £90 or £110 for the stainless one (from www.ogormans.co.uk – Kelkoo didn’t come up with anything).It is possible to buy a toaster for under £10 so you might wonder why anyone would be willing to spend £100 on one.
One reason people might want to do so is because they are fashionable at the moment. These classic cumbersome stainless steel toasters grace the kitchens of the great and famous and appear frequently in film set kitchens – I came across a whole list of films featuring Dualit toasters somewhere on the net but I have no idea why anyone...
The Rolls-Royce of toasters
Review of Dualit Toasters 2 + 1 Steel by
SueMagee
Advantages: It's idiot-proof!
Disadvantages: I'm a clever idiot!
....)
Well, there it was a week later, sitting on the working surface. If you think it looks big in the shop, wait till you see it at home. It’s inconspicuous in the kitchen like the Two Fat Ladies are inconspicuous. It’s bright – all chrome – although this does tend to dull with use and at 30cm wide, 19cm deep and 22cm high takes up a fair bit of space. You’ve also got to allow for the fact that the handles for the sandwich cage stick out another 10cm. We’ve had it for seven years now, and it isn’t getting any smaller, but it is still working.
It’s a three-slot toaster and you can either operate two of them together, the one that takes the sandwich cage on its own, or all three together. If you leave the toast in the Dualit it will stay warm for about ten minutes. It’s really only suitable for a small family as the first batch of toast...
A Toast to My Toaster
Review of Morphy Richards Europa 44405 Toasters by
angeelu
Advantages: Takes thick slices / crumpets / bagels etc, high lift, cool wall, easy to remove crumb tray, reheat button, warming rack
Disadvantages: Fairly short cable may cause some people a problem?
...for 'variable browning', and three buttons: the cancel button, the frozen button and the reheat button. The lever to push your slices down into the toaster is down the front right hand corner of the toaster. In addition, the toaster also has a warming rack knob on the left hand side.
The toaster looked good enough to me in the shop - certainly more stylish than my old one, so now my old toaster has been retired.
As with all new gadgets it's essential to try them out at the first opportunity, and, more importantly, make sure they're up for the job. My previous toaster had always struggled with toasting bagels. They would never fit in the slots properly despite it supposedly being able to handle extra thick slices, and they would always burn around the edges. It was instantly noticable on inserting the two bagel halves into my new toaster...
An (unintentionally) illuminating toaster!
Review of Tefal Avanti Hi-Speed Deluxe 2 Slice Toasters by
LeopardLili
Advantages: Attractive, high lift, easy browning controls, holds bread firmly
Disadvantages: Won't toast a whole slice, alarming blue flash on toast popup
...Although I'd had a cheap toaster for a while it was very rarely used because I had a gas oven and grill and we always used that to toast anything other that sliced bread. Crumpets etc went on the grill and came out beautifully. The purchase of my first electric oven soon put paid to that due to the time required to heat the element. A toaster that was capable of a range of baked goods was necessary and the Tefal Avanti looked like it was up to the job.
This is a big toaster with slots that look wider and deeper than the average. It has a futuristic appearance and plenty of buttons and knobs on the front to make it seem that toasting is a complicated task. There's a high lift button for teacakes, crumpets and other things that sit lower in the slot, there's a stop button if you notice smoke emerging and the usual browning control...
Bargain toaster
Review of Tesco 2T06 White 2 Slice by
laramax
Advantages: Great value
Disadvantages: No fancy features
...in a cupboard out of sight I might just as well be practical about it. I discounted the shiny stainless steel one which matched my kettle perfectly (at £34.99 I felt it was just too much) and wandered along looking at more economic options.
I spotted the Tesco 2T06 White 2 Slice TESCO VALUE Toaster. At almost the same time I spotted the price too - £4.44. I couldn't quite believe it, so I looked at what it offered confident I would be able to discount it as unsuitable.
In fact it wasn't easy to discount - the price was very reasonable and it was actually quite stylish to look at. A simple plain white plastic all over with two grey controls on the side.
It actually DID have a few features that I was looking for:
* Cancel Function / Immediate Eject
* Cool Wall
* Crumb Tray
* High Lift
and there were a few features it DIDN...
Morphy Rihcards Opera digital 2 slice toaster
Review of Morphy Richards Opera Two Slice Toaster by
liz.carl
Advantages: Price, Toasts frozen bread, beeps when ready
Disadvantages: Not much really
....
The other cool functions on this toaster are: vaiable browning control; variable bread slots width; reheat function (in case your toast is ready but you've answered the phone or something); it has a cancel function and a bagel function.
The digital display on the front alerts you to the browning setting which you have selected, and if you have chosen one of the above functions (frozen, bagel or reheat).
The very best thing about it is that once the bread is done and has popped up, the toaster beeps at you to let you know. Talk about intelligence without the fuss! All you have to do is concentrate on eating the toast.
This is a definite must for those looking for a modern, attractive toaster but are sick of stainless steel taking over the world, and who like me is absent minded in getting a loaf out of the freezer the night before...
Hinari Lifestyle Toaster
Review of Hinari Lifestyle Toaster by
rosieballard
Advantages: Low price, basic and makes great toast
Disadvantages: Not very stylish to look at
...This toaster is very functional but not all that stylish in the looks department.
It's made of white plastic on the outside and is a 2 slice toaster.
There are 6 different variable browning control settings so you can adjust it to however you like your toast best. The slots are quite wide so it will take bread of varying widths which is very handy especially if you use uncut loaves or like door-stop size wedges of toast.
The toaster is easy to clean, with a slide-out crumb tray underneath.. The cable is long enough to plug it in with ease. The sides of the toaster are what is known as cool wall which means that you won't get burnt if you touch them even if you have just used the toaster.
This toaster is ideal for anyone on a budget and is just as good and effective as other more expensive models. I bought...
Cookworks 2 Slice Toaster
Review of Cookworks ST6203 by
newby2
Advantages: cheap and cheerful
Disadvantages: none
...Cookworks 2 Slice Toaster
After only recently buying a new toaster and being thoroughly disappointed with its performance or really I should say lack of performance I invested in buying a new one from Argos. My last toaster not only worked when it wanted to and I was often found standing holding the button down to toast my bread but it also lacked the ability to toast all of the slice. The top two inches were always poking out and I had to turn halfway through to make sure the whole slice was evenly browned.
I made sure then that my new toaster was capable of fitting inside a whole slice and working well. I decided to pay a little more than the last cheap one which cost me a fiver and spend out £10 on buying a nice silver looking Cookworks toaster. On arriving at Argos and checking availability with the small keypad...
