Reviews of toddle
tomy toddle n ride excellent value for money
Review of Tomy Toddle 'n' ride by
destiny555
Advantages: very sturdy can be used from first steps and then as a trike later on
Disadvantages: none
...The toddle n ride was a present for my daughters first birthday it only cost me £15 brand new and boxed and it was worth every penny. This was perfect because i wanted a walker for her to steady her while learning to walk but knew that if i was to buy one i wouldn't get my moneys worth as she would soon be walking unaided and it would no longer be used.
When i opened the box it looked like it might be difficult to put together as there was quite a few pieces but after looking at the instructions they were very clear and easy to understand and i had it ready in under five minutes. My daughter loved it and was quickly pushing it all around the house she even used it as dolls buggy if i took the play tray off of the front .The toddle n ride is really sturdy as it is wide and doesn't tip over when going round corners.
When my daughter...

Two toys in one!
Review of Tomy Toddle 'n' ride by
Ann-Marie_B
Advantages: Converts from a walker to a trike
Disadvantages: None
...I recently purchased the Tomy Toddle n Ride for my son. The guidelines state that it is suitable from 12 months onward, however with similar products stating a guideline age of 10 months onward, I decided to let him experiment with it under supervision.
The Tomy Toddle n Ride is currently available from Amazon at £34.99, however I bought this item at just £14.99 direct from Tomy's website (www.tomy.co.uk), saving £20! The description on Tomy's website states that the low price is due to slightly damaged packaging although the product itself is in perfect condition. When mine arrived however the packaging was in fact intact, as was the item.
The Tomy Toddle n Ride begins as a push along walker. It has a squeaking horn at the top and an easy to grip handle bar. The wheels are spaced a good distance apart to give the baby plenty...

Toddling easy (never mind at what expense huh?)
Review of Huggies Little Walkers Nappies by
Lizamabug
Advantages: Great for toddling in
Disadvantages: Difficult to get on, weak tabs, not very absorbent, expensive
...decided maybe they were worth a shot if the company was willing to spend so much time promoting them. It's just a shame all the vouchers had expired by the time my baby started walking! I thought if they worked as well as the Super-Flex and Stay-Dry nappies from Huggies but made toddling easier they'd be perfect. Shame they weren't huh?!
Tesco were offering Huggies Little Walkers at £1 off the other week (2 for £16 this week I note) so I picked up a pack of size 5's for £7.96. Now more fool me but I had assumed the pack was the same size as Super-Flex - it was the same shape and the pack felt the usual weight. But on further inspection I noticed that actually, there are only 38 nappies in a pack! And that's with the usual price being £8.96! That works out at 24p per nappy which in my opinion is an absolute rip-off - especially...

walk then ride away
Review of Tomy Toddle 'n' ride by
sarah1178
Advantages: 2 toys in 1
Disadvantages: haven't found any yet
...My son received the Tomy toddle 'n' ride for his first birthday from his grandparents, i believe they bought it from Argos for approximately £24.99 and its for 12m+.
There were a full set of easy to follow instructions and the great thing is there were no fiddly screws needed to fix it together. It's bright yellow with blue wheels, some green, orange and purple too.
My dad set it up as a walker first and this has an activity tray containing a caterpillar phone, a flapping butterfly, a squeaky ladybird and swirling snail and it doesn't require baterries - there's no lights or music so it's simple and basic which makes a nice change but my son loves it especially the snail!!
Once he's learnt to walk on his own the walker can be transformed into a ride on trike with trailor for his toys and i can't wait til he reaches that stage...

Beware Flying Toddlers !
Review of Everything that starts with F ... by
jo68
Advantages: You eventually get to your destination
Disadvantages: It's damned hard work !
...Before any of you start imagining a group of toddlers flying through the air flapping their wings, let me explain that I am talking about toddlers travelling on aeroplanes. I have done this on 6 occasions now and the last one, just a week or so ago, was by far the most interesting.
What do I mean by toddlers ? I don't mean babies. Babies and planes go together much better than toddlers and planes. Of course, babies are going to cry, but they usually do this for a reason. Hungry, wind, tired, nappy needs changing etc. In most cases, it is quite easy to placate them, and fingers crossed, they will sleep most of the time on the plane. Toddlers, on the other hand, will invariably want to do what their name suggests, and that is toddle. And where is there to toddle on a plane ? Nowhere except the aisle, which is obviously out of bounds...

Review of Piz Buin Summer Sensation Daily Body Lotion by
nuttynaomi
Advantages: Fast working, strong, one application to see a difference
Disadvantages: too fast too furious!!

How we met!

Piz Buin Summer Sensation Daily Body Lotion
I discovered this Piz Buin moisturiser/self tanner after returning from a winter sun holiday in Tenerife. With a beautiful bronze tan and all the comments that went with such a radiant tan, there was no way I wanted this tan to fade!
So, off I toddled down to town and found myself in Superdrug. Not being my 'normal' place to shop, I normally go to Boots, I had no idea where anything was in the shop and quickly got frustrated! I've used Dove moisturising self tan before and was quite happy to get some more of that, could I find it…..in my dreams!
After marching around the store a couple of times and feeling a bit of an idiot, I saw what appeared to be the 'self tan' section. Not exactly what I was looking for but it'll do.
I...

Oh what do I buy for Christmas??
Review of Members Advice on Buying Toys by
tamsin23
Advantages: Encourage development, fun
Disadvantages: difficult to buy for children who are not your own
...the child becomes a proper individual! The child is normally walking and has definite likes and dislikes. Toys become a great aid to learning and encouraging development. Talking forms a main part of the child’s development and so toys that talk or have little personalities are a great choice. Toddlers also like to explore their new found freedom with toddle trucks and trikes. Puzzles are a good way to encourage children to learn shapes and colours and where things go. Likewise, shape sorters or hammer and peg benches encourage this type of development. Miniature houses, trains, garages etc encourage a child to interact with a small version of the real world. This gives them an idea of what happens in the big wide world and helps them control their own little characters.
Toys recommended for this age: wooden puzzles, toddle trucks...

IKEA's a good day out
Review of Ikea by
Happymama
Advantages: Cheap, cheerful and inventive
Disadvantages: Disaster area for the non-discerning
...CD rack and don't want to pay more than £30, go to IKEA. If you want heirloom-type furniture, you go somewhere else.
Our IKEA is 45 minutes away, which isn't bad. Not 'just slipping out for a new dining-suite' kind of distance, but it makes for a good day out with a little bit of planning. And as I've said, the food's cheap, with offers to feed children for free at various times of the day!
Store layout is quite sensible, (and OH! what fun for kids) but it can be a little difficult to find things. There is a phone-before-you-go service to check stock, and you can cheat and take the details from the catalogue, present them to the kind person on the computer in the warehouse and they'll tell you where to find them. You won't have to read a single label this way, just toddle in with your trolley and then toddle out. This won...

Cheap Compact Colour Printer
Review of Lexmark Z 25 Color Jetprinter by
ariadne
Advantages: Cheap, reliable, easy to use, suitable for PC and Mac.
Disadvantages: USB cable not supplied, expensive ink cartridges.
...We desperately needed a new printer last year, so in October 2002, we toddled off to PC World to inspect the available printers. As it was to be used mainly for work and school, the cost of ink cartridges didn't really matter to us so we were just after something cheap, reliable and suitable for both PC and Mac.
Looks and Set-Up
=
The Lexmark Z25 caught our eyes fairly quickly as it was one of the cheapest available - about £30 at the time. We played with the display model and decided it was reasonably sturdy and attractive, compared with some of the others in its price range. The support for the paper (as it's manual loading) folds down over the printer but when erect can certainly support quite a hefty amount of paper. The support for printed paper output is a bit wobbly and I wouldn't recommend it to be left...

Fun for all
Review of Member Advice on Children Activities by
dizzymonkey
Advantages: happy baby, happy parents
Disadvantages: some activities may be a bit messy
...Just over a year ago I filled my days with work and not much else, then our much awaited daughter arrived and changed our lives completely. From the day she was born my life was filled with nappies, food and baby sick, now she has reached a year old and is toddling everywhere, so what do we do with our days now?
I am lucky enough to be a full time mum, on the flipside I have plenty of hours to fill with activities that are fun and stimulating, here are some ideas that are great for filling those waking hours, most of them are practically free so you won't be bankrupted!
Singing, Dancing, Music ( well noise of some description)...
Singing and music making are great fun, free, educational and a fantastic way to teach your little ones different sounds, words and phrases. Babies and toddlers alike learn well through rhymes...
