Sticky Toffee Pudding but not as we know it...
Review of Morrisons The Best Sticky Toffee Ice Cream by
rowei
Advantages: Creamy texture, nice swirls of toffee
Disadvantages: Not particularly sophisticated, lacks a variety of textures (crunchy toffee pieces would be nice)
...It's not really the time of year to be writing reviews about ice cream, but it is one food that I enjoy all year round. So I thought I may as well tell you about my latest ice cream purchase which was bought from Morrisons.
Since the takeover of Safeway, Morrisons has re-launched quite a few products which were formerly part of Safeway's 'The Best' range. This is good for shoppers who are looking for the occasional treat but do not want to pay ridiculous prices. One such product line is the range of 'The Best' ice creams. These appeared in stores towards the end of last year and come in four different flavours - 'Sticky Toffee', 'Strawberries and Clotted Cream', 'Chocolate' and 'Vanilla'. Of these, the 'Sticky Toffee' flavour intrigued me the most and this is the one that I shall be reviewing today.

Toffee crisp
Review of Nestle Toffee Crisp Ice Cream Bars by
chrisyboy
Advantages: Nice ice cream and toffe flavour
Disadvantages: Too small
...Well ice cream. We all love them and on a hot day we all get one. I hadn't tried the toffee ice cream until i read SamRoversNo1 review on them.
Now i love ice cream, i mean i could sit there and eat it so i wasn't to happy with Sam putting it down so what did i do, I got some.
The costs of the ice creams are £1.99. This is an aright price to pay but if the charged a little lower then they may get better sales as the ice creams them selves are only about 2cm by 10cm which may sound big but when you see them you'll know what i mean.
I was really looking forward to getting them to try them, so when my dad got back i was out to the car to get them.
When i got them i got inside and put three in the fridge freezer and i had one. The packaging was really good as it was a bright orange box which really stands out. The letters...

Vanilla ice cream with a difference
Review of Ben and Jerry's Vanilla Toffee Crunch Ice Cream by
stephy666
Advantages: Good value for money
Disadvantages: A little plain
...Ben & Jerry's Vanilla Toffee Crunch ice cream is Vanilla ice cream with choclatey-covered toffee crunch.
I bought this product from Asda for £3.25 for 500ml
The packaging is a light coloured tub featuring the classic Ben & Jerry's logo with the words Vanilla Toffee crunch underneath and pictures of choclate covered toffee crunch pieces.
The tub is filled to the top so you do get value for money.
When you open the tub you do get a faint vanilla smell but nothing too strong.
The vanila ice cream itself is a nice creamy texture with a good vanilla taste to it. The chocolate toffee pieces are a good size throughout the tub and are quite soft to bite into but still give a nice crunch. The chocolate melts in your mouth leaving the rich toffee flavour in the middle which is lovely and crunchy. The toffee pieces blend perfectly...

T is for Thorntons Toffee
Review of thorntons special toffee original by
Flobo1992
Advantages: Good Smell, Taste, Price, Packaging
Disadvantages: Lots of Sugar
...Original Toffee
Fruit and Nut Toffee
Treacle Toffee
Liquorice Toffee
Orange Toffee
Banana Toffee
Strawberry and Cream Toffee
Mint Toffee
As you can see there is a wide selection of Toffee available in packets and boxes or tins. I myself have tried the packets of Mint, Treacle, Original and Chocolate Toffee. The treacle Toffee was too sweet for me but my family enjoyed finishing it off! My personal favourite is a toss between the Original and the Chocolate. If I fancied something really sweet I'd probably go for the Chocolate but If I wanted a more creamy sweet I'd certainly go for the Original.
♦Packaging of Original Toffee♦
*Front
The front of the packet looks natural, as does most of Thornton's packets. This is done by using subtle brown and yellow tones. The middle of the packet is simply a large rectangle...

Delicious Toffee to Scoffee
Review of Thorntons Special Toffee - Fruit & Nut by
stuleg
Advantages: Delicious Toffee at its Finest
Disadvantages: May Well Hurt Your Teeth
...had produced a range of special toffee, one variety of which was the delightful toffee with fruit and nut. I grabbed my credit card immediately and ordered a couple of 550g boxes (well there’s no point in ordering just one now is there?). Although expensive at £4.29 a box, (or 78 new pence per 100g if you’d prefer) I was not to be put off my impending reunion with a treat from days gone by, yes it is expensive but what price a nostalgic blast from the past, money well spent in my opinion. The two day wait for the toffee to arrive was agony beyond that which a mere man should be made to endure, sure I’d not tasted this sweet delight for over twenty years but now I knew it still existed I was the epitome of the excited child on Christmas Eve, I simply couldn’t wait.
A few days on and the Thorntons toffee arrived, two cream coloured boxes...

Thornton's: Tempting Toffee Lovers Since 1925
Review of thorntons special toffee original by
jm160
Advantages: Probably the best toffee on the highstreet.
Disadvantages: It's very bad for you... but it's still lush!
...Toffee for years and during that time, I have developed a host of different ways of consuming it - delightful though it is to simply munch it straight out of the box, there is so much more that you can do with it.
Because of its soft texture, this toffee can easily be chopped-up into little cubes which are perfect for sprinkling over ice-cream or stirring plentifully into plain Greek Yoghurt. Cakes and biscuits can also be given a more chewy consistency by simply blending a few chunks into the mixture before baking. One can produce a quick, easy toffee sauce by melting the product down in a quarter-pint of double cream - great trickled over pancakes! Try dipping into hot chocolate for a drippy, slurpy and messy treat.
Ingredients:

Sugar, Glucose Syrup, Vegetable Oil, Butter, Whole Milk, Humectant (Sorbitol), Partially...

Thorntons special toffee should be EXTRA special
Review of thorntons special toffee original by
oldwasp
Advantages: Great taste
Disadvantages: NONE
...Experience:~
My experience with toffee started when I was a young child with the Dainty chew and you got 2 for a penny. These were delicious and every kid loved them but one thing about them they did make your jaw ache after eating a whole 2p worth. Remember the Dainty being chewy whereas some other toffees where brittle, but the chewy type was my preferred choice. Do not think that I've tried toffee since my last day at school when my brothers hand me downs went in the bin and started my new job the following day.
Thorntons:~
Thorntons make chocolate not toffee, that's the expensive shop will all that fancy truffle with dark, white and milk chocolate with vanilla, orange and god knows how many flavours. they also sell the different flavours of ice cream with a fudge stick in, prefer a 99 any day.
But whats this product...

Tremendous Thorntons Toffee...
Review of thorntons special toffee original by
roberto900
Advantages: Great taste, Excellent Price, Quality brand and product to match
Disadvantages: You'll want more...
..." or their "special" range) actually makes up about £80 million of the £180 million total turnover of Thorntons.
In the Special Toffee range there are 9 different flavours available. These are the flavours that are available to be enjoyed:
Original Toffee
Chocolate Toffee
Mint Toffee
Brazil Nut Toffee
Fruit and Nut Toffee
Orange Toffee
Banana Toffee
Strawberry and Cream Toffee
Liquorice Toffee
I have tried most of these flavours at least one due to my slight obsession with different types of toffee. I haven't tried either of the nut ones and I have certainly never been tempted by the liquorice flavour. Now, I have to confess at this point that, as delicious as the Special Toffee flavour is, it is not my personal favourite. Chocolate Toffee will always hold that honour! Although, in general terms I think that Vanilla Toffee has...

STICKY TOFFEE PUD - Yummy, yummy, in my tummy!
Review of PUDZ Sticky Toffee Pudding by
FunkyFaulkner
Advantages: Light, airy but still a gorgeously rich pud.
Disadvantages: Inexpensive and too easy to prepare, thus encouraging you to eat too many!
...After a rather stressful day of mothering, I found myself on an emergency milk sourcing trip to our local Tesco Express store. While standing in the queue clasping a four pint carton to my bosom, I looked longingly over at the dessert freezer and spied something new! I was feeling in the need for some comfort and this looked like it could fill the void!! So I stepped out of the queue and considered whether to buy one or two but in an attempt to be a little virtuous, as we are both supposed to be watching what we eat (NB: I find this a very strange phrase…surely if you watched what you ate, rather than actually ate it, you would loose weight like there was no tomorrow?!), I decided to buy one and split it with 'him-in-doors'. Obviously, you can't have sticky toffee pudding without vanilla ice cream, so I bought a (small) tub to go...

Sticky Toffee Delight
Review of Heinz Sticky Toffee Pudding by
SweetTooth93
Advantages: Delicious Taste
Disadvantages: Lots of calories
..., a delicious toffee/butterscotch smell met me and it set my nose alight. It was an extremely sweet smell and my tastebuds couldn't wait for much longer.....
Taste
The final and most important sense of all. TASTE. I plonked my little pudding into my bowl, and decided, it needed a little something else. So I scooped a little dollop of good quality Cornish vanilla ice cream in to my bowl and dug in. Firstly it was my duty to taste the pudding on its own. I scooped up a chunk of sponge, and scooped up a bit of the toffee sauce. The sponge was light and delicate and didn't taste too toffee-ish but it had a lovely sweet taste too it. The toffee sauce was a delight. It was extremely sweet and perhaps quite sickly, but for my tastebuds it was perfect. There was also a slight creamyness to the sauce giving it the perfect balance.
Next I...
