The dictionary definition of scrumptious is given as: "extremely pleasing to the sense of taste" or "tasting extremely pleasant". In no real sense of the word could Mornflakes Banana and Toffee Crisp be considered as "extremely pleasing to the sense of taste" or "tasting extremely pleasant". The ingredients are: oat flakes, rice crisps sugar, vegetable oil, desiccated coconut, dried sweetened banana chips, toffee pieces, wheat flakes, nibbed hazelnuts and salt. The box also bears the legend: "Also delicious hot." This presupposes that it is also delicious cold, a supposition with which I cannot not agree. With only 4% banana chips and a distinct lack of toffee flavour I fear that the name Mornflakes... Read review

...Nestle’s Toffee Crisp Okay we are on the penultimate choccy op here, the ninth in the series of ten so I thought I would save the other choccy bar that I didn’t actually pay for almost to the end. Besides I think Mortimus is having Chocolate Withdrawal Symptoms seeing as my last two ops were not about the sweet brown stuff so I have to put him out of his misery … well, someone has to roflmao !! So yeah the other choccy bar that was stolen by me from Spar a week ago also known as a Toffee Crisp !! Therefore I cannot give you the price as it wasn’t on the receipt but I would think we would be talking around the 34 – 36 pence mark. I also cannot give you the weight as Nestle didn’t print the weight on the wrapper nor do I don’t have any kitchen scales in my home. So at a rough judgement it weighs about …. Umm …. Errr …. Advantages: Its a reletively light choco bar

...Well then. I had a toffee crisp with my lunch just a little over forty minutes ago. Yes, I enjoyed it. Really, it was nice. However I feel nice is just about its limit. I personally didn't think it was 'heavenly' or full of deliciousnosity (todays neologism). Just nice. Let me tell you a story...... One day, Smyffy(me) and his friends were walking through Somerfield looking for a particular chocolate bar for Smyffy to eat. Being an employee, Smyffy couldn't remember ever seeing this certain chocolate bar ever on the shop floor. As it was, Somerfield didn't sell it (nor did the sell frozen herbs, but thats another story). So, Smyffy was looking at the vast selection of confectionary and other such delights which occupied the same amount of space as a medium sized ice cube, when something caught his eye. ...I'm not a fan of toffee crisps, i eat them when they are really the only chocolate avalible (not entirely true, they do outrank fuses and double deckers)and so i tend to eat the small versions that come in vairety packs. But having recently eaten one of the bigger kind (and having noticed that they seem to be generally approved of) and not having written anything on ciao for ages (and not having the time to write a book review .. should probably end sentence soon) i decided to review one. Toffee Crisps are really about toffee and those crispy rice bits in the centre. There is chocolate, but it tastes cheap. I'm sure it isn't cheap, but there isn't much more than a thin coating of chocolate on the bar and it tastes slightly plastic and very much like the choclate you get on choc. peanuts. ...Someone somewhere is having a toffee crisp......and that someone is ME!!..all in the name of research you understand. My first impressions were favourale as I bit into the oblong chocolate bar.This was reinforced when I tasted the distinctive nestle chocolate coating and sunk me teeth through the body of this naughty little number.It revealed a crisp combination of puffed rice ,similar to rice crispies,surrounded in a chocolately mixture,topped with a chewy but not hard caramel.All in all a pretty desirable bite. The wrapping is bright and attractive,displaying the words "toffe crisp" in rounded,fun lettering,bright yellow in colour with brown shaddowing and highlighting whisps to suggest the whole words are bouncing.This is displayed on a vibrant orange background,highly colourfull and likely to catch the eye... ...This chocolate bar has been on the market for years now, probably since I was about nine, so we’re talking a good eight years here. It isn’t one of my favourite chocolate bars, as it just seems very light, almost as if it’s missing content. But all the same, it is good: ------------ Packaging. ------------ What I have noticed recently is that nearly all chocolate bar manufacturers attempt to catch your eye by packaging their bars in brightly coloured packets, and I can assure you that this is no exception. It is a bright orange all the way round, in fact I would even go as far to say that it might just glow in the dark. The words “Toffee Crisp” are emblazoned across the front in a swirly, thick brown colour, and this lettering is surrounded by a yellow rim. ...Well ice cream. We all love them and on a hot day we all get one. I hadn't tried the toffee ice cream until i read SamRoversNo1 review on them. Now i love ice cream, i mean i could sit there and eat it so i wasn't to happy with Sam putting it down so what did i do, I got some. The costs of the ice creams are £1.99. This is an aright price to pay but if the charged a little lower then they may get better sales as the ice creams them selves are only about 2cm by 10cm which may sound big but when you see them you'll know what i mean. I was really looking forward to getting them to try them, so when my dad got back i was out to the car to get them. When i got them i got inside and put three in the fridge freezer and i had one. The packaging was really good as it was a bright orange box which really stands out. The letters... Read review

Advantages: Delicious Toffee at its Finest
Disadvantages: May Well Hurt Your Teeth

...in the heat of my mouth. A sweet sugary taste gives way to a deeper, more balanced creamy taste, and the underlying hint of the cooked ingredients such as the milk and butter is also present. When I start to chew the toffee I bite through a nut which is crisp, well sized and deliciously subtle in its nutty flavour, not at all bitter which can be a problem with nuts included in sweets. The raisins are soft but offer little flavour to the toffee instead lending a texture change to the whole eating experience. As the toffee is chewed and swallowed it leaves a slight residue on the teeth which is probably to be expected when eating toffee, there is no sore throat however which can sometimes occur with products high in sugar content, all in all an enjoyable eating experience and a wonderful trip down memory lane. ...It had been several years since I last had a Toffee Crisp. In fact for the past couple of years the type of chocolate bars present in our house had fallen into a rather predictable routine. However I fancied a change. I was getting cravings for a chewy chocolate bar, something that could provide me with a chewy chocolaty mouthful of heaven. I scanned my memory for suitable chocolate bars and the Toffee Crisp came up. So I did a little research, I studied the bars of Toffee Crisp on sale in the newsagents and supermarkets. The wrappers promised a “crispy crunch, chewy munch”, which was exactly what I was looking for.
