STICKY TOFFEE PUD - Yummy, yummy, in my tummy!
Review of PUDZ Sticky Toffee Pudding by
FunkyFaulkner
Advantages: Light, airy but still a gorgeously rich pud.
Disadvantages: Inexpensive and too easy to prepare, thus encouraging you to eat too many!
...After a rather stressful day of mothering, I found myself on an emergency milk sourcing trip to our local Tesco Express store. While standing in the queue clasping a four pint carton to my bosom, I looked longingly over at the dessert freezer and spied something new! I was feeling in the need for some comfort and this looked like it could fill the void!! So I stepped out of the queue and considered whether to buy one or two but in an attempt to be a little virtuous, as we are both supposed to be watching what we eat (NB: I find this a very strange phrase…surely if you watched what you ate, rather than actually ate it, you would loose weight like there was no tomorrow?!), I decided to buy one and split it with 'him-in-doors'. Obviously, you can't have sticky toffee pudding without vanilla ice cream, so I bought a (small) tub to go...

Sticky Toffee Delight
Review of Heinz Sticky Toffee Pudding by
SweetTooth93
Advantages: Delicious Taste
Disadvantages: Lots of calories
...HEINZ STICKY TOFFEE PUDDING
How I Came About Buying It
Perhaps you have realised from my past reviews, my family and I are partial too a dessert every now and then, okay, more like every night. Sometimes my mum will bake a huge apple pie, or make up a batch of pancakes drizzled in toffee sauce. Other times, my mum will shove a big bowl of angel delight with mars bar pieces onto the table, or on other times we will be presented with a chocolate mousse or chocolate pudding. This night however was different.
Dinner was due to be ready in half an hour, and my mum came up into my room looking awful flustered. I asked her what was wrong, and she told me she had, had a dilemma with the angel delight, it hadn't set properly. What on earth was she going to do for dessert.
We went downstairs and I searched through the cupboards...

Sticky Toffee Heaven
Review of Cartmel Sticky Toffee Pudding by
Julieshobs
Advantages: Tastes devine
Disadvantages: the calories
...Whilst visiting the Lake District recently I stumbled across a little gem and a sticky toffee pudding to die for. Just up the road from where we where staying was a small shop selling the most divine sweets and desserts and I just had to try the sticky toffee pudding though totally laden with fat and calories it was a holiday treat.
The pudding comes in various sizes, from individual portions, portions that serve three to four and even a size perfect for all serving six to eight people, as there are 4 of us we option for the middle size also my son cannot abide anything like this so only three of us to eat it all.
The packaging is simple yet extremely effective, the pudding comes in a foil container with a lit and an outer packing made from cardboard which shows a picture of the original Cartmel Village Shop where the puddings...

I'M STICKING TO THIS PUD!!!!!
Review of Heinz Sticky Toffee Pudding by
pennywa
Advantages: Tastes gorgeous, easy to find, quite cheap & very filling
Disadvantages: None at all
...by wrapping one up in his hankie and putting it in his pocket!
Last weekend nan excelled herself though, and gave my brother and me a real treat in a tin - a Heinz Sticky Toffee Pudding, and not between us, but we had a whole one each. She said that her friend Ruby has been buying them for ages and they're dead easy to cook, so as they were on offer in her corner shop (buy one get one free) she got two of them to 'test out' on my brother and me!
The tin says they're supposed to go in the microwave. You're meant to open the tin, tip out the contents and put them in a microwavable bowl, and put in the microwave for a couple of minutes. As easy as that! Unfortunately, although nan does have a microwave, she very rarely uses it as she says it's "not right" to be able to cook stuff that quickly and we think she's secretly scared of it...

Sticky Toffee Pudding but not as we know it...
Review of Morrisons The Best Sticky Toffee Ice Cream by
rowei
Advantages: Creamy texture, nice swirls of toffee
Disadvantages: Not particularly sophisticated, lacks a variety of textures (crunchy toffee pieces would be nice)
...consistency and remind me of the kind of sauces you get in Ben and Jerry's ice creams.
The dairy ice cream also tastes very luxurious. With all that clotted cream, what else would you really expect..? It certainly helps to give the ice cream a rich and creamier flavour than usual and a smoother, velvety texture.
My only criticism is concerning the variety of textures. Whereas ice creams like Ben & Jerry's tend to be more sophisticated with a range of textures (e.g. dairy ice cream and crunchy pieces of chocolate buried within), this ice cream could be seen as being a bit unimaginative. I would have liked to have seen actual pieces of toffee buried within the ice cream or pieces of sponge, like in a real sticky toffee pudding.
NUTRITIONAL AND DIETARY INFORMATION
As you have probably guessed, this isn't the healthiest of ice creams out...

sticky stodgy mouthwateringly georgous puds.
Review of Heinz Sponge Puddings (tinned) by
vialdana
Advantages: tastes great, very little mess.
Disadvantages: will make me fat.
...I’ve always loved rich sticky stodgy sponge puddings, and when you’re breaking a diet to eat something bad for you, Heinz sponge puds are definitely the thing to go for if you want do to it properly.
Heinz Sponge puddings come in five different varieties, Strawberry Jam, Chocolate, Black forest gateau (black cherry basically), Toffee and Treacle (well golden syrup).
My favourite has to be the more traditional of these the Treacle sponge pudding, but I’ve tried the strawberry and the chocolate too, and enjoyed both.
Like I say my favourite is the treacle pudding, so I’m going to describe that in depth, but if you want to imagine one of the other flavours then just swap the treacly/golden syrupy bit for strawberry or toffee etc. in you imagination. These puds come in a 300g round tin, and consist of a round thick heavy sponge...

Toffee and vanilla creamy yogurt.
Review of Heinz Weight Watchers Toffee & Vanilla Yogurts by
SweetTooth93
Advantages: healthy, creamy, delicious
Disadvantages: perhaps expensive
...through and not watery in any way. I then brought the spoon up to my lips, closed them over the spoon and took my first taste of the little pud. Well, it was definitely vanilla flavour, it had the same taste as Muller vanilla yogurt, which in my opinion is a lovely taste. I was pleasantly surprised, the yogurt was creamy and smooth and slipped down my throat leaving a delicious creamy and semi-sweet taste in my mouth.
Nutrition
Much the same as the toffee flavour yogurt, although the vanilla contains 2 more calories; 50 calories. Still an amazing surprise for the actual taste which is creamy and delicious. Again we are told that this yogurt it fat free, and contains only half a point on the weight watchers diet. Amazing.
WOULD I RECCOMEND
Definitely, unlike most healthy eating or low fat yogurts, these ones...

What is brown and sticky
Review of Sainsbury's Be Good to Yourself Sticky Toffee Pudding by
offy
Advantages: Great price, low fat
Disadvantages: Very strong taste of burnt treacle, unable to cook properly in the microwave
...The answer, of course, is sticky toffee pudding! I love this sickly, calorie laden pudding and have tried many in my time, from home made to mass marketed frozen varieties, and enjoyed every last mouthful. Whilst on one of my rare visits to Sainsbury’s recently, I was excited to find a sticky toffee pudding in the Be Good to Yourself range. Was it too good to be true, a wonderful pudding which is low fat?
The ratings I am using are: excellent, good, average, not so good and bad.
•• The Packaging ••
This frozen pack comes in the regular Sainsbury’s Be Good to Yourself blue and green box, showing a picture of a wonderfully gooey looking sticky toffee pudding on the front laden with brown sticky sauce. The box details the recommended daily fat, salt and calorie amounts for men and women, which is always a useful guide. Inside...

A quick hot pudding on a cold day
Review of Heinz Sponge Puddings (tinned) by
tazza72
Advantages: Very Very Quick and Very Very Tasty
Disadvantages: A bit too sweet
...Now that the days are getting colder, I just love to have a nice hot dinner and nice hot pudding.
I discovered Heinz Microwaveable Sponge Puddings a few months ago. I have tried all the varieties – and I have to say – I like them all. They come in 5 types, which are:
Chocolate Pudding with Cadbury Chocolate Sauce
Spotted Dick Sponge Pudding
Sticky Toffee Sponge Pudding
Strawberry Jam Sponge Pudding
Treacle (Golden Syrup) Sponge Pudding.
The tin sizes are roughly the same, but vary between 300g and 320g. The calorie and fat contents per 100g are listed below:
Chocolate Pudding 300cals, 11.2g fat
Spotted Dick 325cals 12.5g fat
Sticky Toffee 305cals 12.5g fat
Strawberry Jam 281cals 7.6g fat
Treacle (Golden Syrup) 277cals 8.2g fat
As stated in the name, these puddings can be microwaved. Depending...

A tin of Joy for Sponge Pud Freaks
Review of Heinz Sponge Puddings (tinned) by
ashford
Advantages: Easy to Cook Economical Yummy
Disadvantages: dont let the saucepan burn dry
...like that one-, Sticky Toffee and Treacle. Oh how I love the great traditional Sticky Toffee and Treacle versions.
The most popular size seems to be the 313 gr tin and I think that some of the supermarkets like Kwik Save,Tesco and Asda, often do special offers on these British delicacies. If I remember correctly you can sometimes these puds for about Stg0.95 pounds. What marvellous value.
The tinned variety from Heinz is such a breeze to prepare. Just dump it in a saucepan, boil the water, and hey presto, you have a simply magnificent dessert. You could plop some Vanilla ice cream over it but my preference is to have it with piping hot custard.
I think one of my all time favourite desserts just has to be Heinz Sticky Toffee Sponge Pud with Really Hot Custard. Give me a basin full of that to me and the world suddenly seems a much...
