Reviews of toilet trainer
a good value for money toilet trainer
Review of Safety 1st Potty by
hunnibunni
Advantages: user friendly
Disadvantages: toilet training seat too small possibly
...I haven't had the toilet trainer for long; about a fortnight or so and have only used the step and toilet seat converter, so i can really only comment on these.
It is really easy to use and dismantle and assemble, so cleaning is not too difficult. The coversion seat howver seems a little on the small side for the gap it has to fit over. The seat ends up right in the middle of the toilet seat, so the child has to haul themselves further back and thus cannot reach the step very easily to get back off the toilet. A lot of care needs to be taken and assistance for them getting on and off is advisable.
It could stand to be made so it is a little closer to the front of the toilet seat.
It has however helped my son progress to using a toilet rather than a potty, as he doesn't disappear down the hole whenever he reaches for the toilet paper.

No More Nasty Smells
Review of Dettox Room Spray by
dibalmond
Advantages: easy to use
Disadvantages: none
.... Apart from trainers I have not used it on any surfaces.
Obviously, you should not spray directly on to food preparation areas and if using it for pet smells ensure the pets are not in the room when spraying.
The suggested uses are around bins, laundry baskets, toilet areas, under sinks, shoes and trainers, pet litter trays and baskets and nappy bins.
The fragrance I have been using is fresh linen, this does remind me of freshly ironed washing. It is a strong pleasantly fresh smell. It is not floral and doesn’t choke you like some room sprays. When I have sprayed a room it does smell a lot fresher and the nasty smells, no matter what they are, disappear.

Trainer Pants, Not Just For Toddlers
Review of Nappy Pants in General by
KarenUK
Advantages: useful stepping stone between nappies and undies
Disadvantages: expensive
...I'm sure everyone knows what nappies are, they are part and parcel of parenthood. But for that awkward in-between stage, when children aren't completely toilet-trained, trainer pants come into their own.
At one point, we had to buy trainer pants for two of my children - the four year old (not too surprising there) and the seven year old. We bought Huggies regularly, as they were good quality and did not leak. They are also one of the few brands who make trainer pants large enough for older children, although our seven year old is pretty thin, so she could have managed with this size longer than most.
Wetting the bed at seven is fairly common, but can be embarrassing. It can mean your child might avoid sleepovers or going on Brownie camps, for example. Having good sized, well fitting trainer pants does help a bit. If they looked...

Potty 'n' Step
Review of Safety 1st Potty by
sarah.shipley
Advantages: Will help with all stages of potty training
Disadvantages: none
...This is a fabulous 3-1 toilet trainer, I used this when I trying to get my son out of nappies when he was 2 years old.
As a potty you can just pull the middle bit out (where your toddler will do their business) and empty the contents, also the middle bit has a raised edge one side which is great for boys (keeps their winkle in side).
Once we got past the first stage of potty trainer I tried to put him onto the toilet which I guess for any 2 year old was very scary, I mean what toddler doesn't think that they are going to fall into the toilet. I just took the seat part off the potty and this would rest safely on any standard toilet seat and with the handles my son felt very safe.
After my son got over the fear of the toilet and stop using the seat he was then able to go by himself as the bottom part of the potty once tuned upside...

Hoorah no potties
Review of Argos Toilet Trainer by
Ali1000
Advantages: Secure fit, easy to fit and remove
Disadvantages: Not that portable
...the plastic is smooth and shaped so there are no sharp edges.
The toilet trainer comes flat-packed, so there is some very minimal assembly of the plastic-allen-key-turning variety to do when it arrives. Handily, it is hinged between the seat and the ladder part, so it will fold flat(ish) for storage – enough to fit down the side of the loo when you have adult visitors who may no longer need a lift up onto the seat!
My son took to it straight away. He was very proud of being a “big boy” on a proper toilet. He also quickly mastered the art of taking the seat off the toilet and putting it back on – hours of unanticipated fun ;-) The only thing that I think could be improved is the size of the splashguard at the front of the seat, which is only very low and was completely ineffectual at first; my son sat on the seat and promptly weed straight over...

One seat or two..?
Review of Rymax Family Toilet Seat by
FunkyFaulkner
Advantages: Looks good, easy to use and cuts out on clutter.
Disadvantages: Can chip, rub and come apart but only if mistreated!
...I have been meaning to do a review on this innovative product for ages and, for once, my procrastination means that I should now be able to give a more complete review as during this time a couple more 'problems' have arisen which may be of interest to you.
The family toilet seat is a standard toilet seat with a smaller, trainer seat for toddlers/young children in the toilet lid. When you lift the toilet lid, the trainer seat can be easily released by turning a little knob and, hey-presto, a smaller version of the adult seat folds down!
When I first saw this product in 2003, I was so impressed by it that I bought it - before I was even pregnant! We were trying for our first baby and after another month of no success I decided to cheer myself up by buying a lovely crib that I had had my eye on for ages and while flicking through...

Do Pokemon do it for you
Review of Pokemon by
Laura_lu_uk
Advantages: The big - N.O.N.E.
Disadvantages: As many asd you want to think of at the time. its old, its annoying, and its just a load of poop!
...To me, Pokemon give off one instant neon message: ‘money, money, money’. This is not for entertaining children. It is for making money, from the movie, from the games on the Nintendo and Game boys, from the trading collectable cards and the cuddly toys. Just another way in which parents are pressured into buying merchandise their children have an interest in for so many weeks and then just disown.
Yes, Pikachu is very cute. Yes, Bulbasaur is cute, but do they really have a need to be here? Are there not enough children’s programmes (not that this is exactly aimed at toddlers) around already?
Ash is a Pokemon trainer along with Misty and another bloke that I’ve forgotten the name of. The cartoon episodes follow their quest to be the best Pokemon trainers alive. It is alright for a few episodes but it gets boring after the third...

Boots re-usuable trainer pants
Review of Nappy Pants in General by
Charis_of_Avallach
Advantages: Reusable
Disadvantages: Not entirely waterproof take a while to dry
...The Boots name for these pants is Boots Deluxe Trainer Pants 31lbs plus or 14kgs plus, 18 months plus.
If you are at that point in time that every child comes to in toilet/potty training the inevitably want to go live as I call it. They reach that stage of independance where they don't want to wear a nappy or perhaps you want them to go cold turkey on the nappies. Whilst the disposable pants are useful, a comprimise in our household for bedtime as we still have wet nights and they are not perceived as nappies by our terribly 2 year old, there is the disadvantage that they are absorbent and the child is quite comfortable in them wet to some extent.
These Boots trainer pants make the ideal solution, slightly bulkier than normal underpants, but nearly waterproof and uncomfortable when wet. I say nearly waterproof as they do contain...

...Little Black Sheep Ltd (littleblacksheep.net) is a small and growing family-run internet business who mainly specialise in children's gifts and toys, as well as maternity and nursery items. They offer an exceptional service because they truly believe that "ewe and your children are unique".

Bright Bots cloth trainer pants
Review of Nappy Pants in General by
zerub
Advantages: Just like pants, keeps outer clothes dry, buys you time
Disadvantages: Not for you if you want as much absorbency as a nappy
....
They're good for when your child is basically dry, but liable to forget. They're also useful for those "on-the-way-to-the-toilet" accidents where the child has just left it too late.
I found them useful for going out and about during early potty training, without risking confusing my child by putting her back in nappies. I didn't have to worry that she'd wee on someone's carpet!
These are the only trainer pants I've seen that actually look like pants rather than nappies.
They wash and dry well, just like pants really.
They come in 4 sizes, from 15m to over 3yrs, and cost about £3.75.
I haven't seen them in the shops anywhere but lots of online cloth nappy sellers do them....
