Advantages: The humour throughout the whole cartoon

...The cartoon 'Tom and Jerry' has been around for as long as I can remember. You all know the little characters! Tom the cat, who is terrorized by a little mouse called Jerry. I'm sure Tom has nightmares about this god-forsaken mouse! Although there's very little dialogue in this cartoon, there is no need for it, as just watching these two creatures fighting it out is a story in itself. Tom, I'm sure, really Jerry deep down, but feels it's a cats duty to chase after a mouse. Very often, you will find Tom chasing Jerry, trying to kill him, or have him for dinner, demolishing the house in the process! But Jerry always comes up trumps and poor Tom ends up suffering. Sometimes Jerry will call in the aid of a bulldog. This bulldog has a pup of his own, and is very gentle, but when it comes to Tom, he has one of his 'turns'. Poor Tom... Read review

Advantages: Classic, funny, a nice clean cartoon

...So this is the story line of every cartoon but somehow it stuck... Tom and Jerry fight like Cat and Mouse every programme and find more and more ways of hurting each other. They each give as good as they get and most people tend to fall on Jerry's side (the mouse) although personally I think he is the most evil, sometimes bringing in a neighbour's Bull Dog to aim in Tom's beating. Fryingpans, irons and anything lying around Tom and Jerry aim to hurt, however this is a nice way to hurt each other, there's no blood and they always come back from the dead. This is a nice cartoon and not really as violent as it may seem, I mean sometimes Tom and Jerry even become friends and work together to get at another character. Could be violent but hey, they always come back to life at the end.... Read review

...I knew Tom & Jerry more than 15 or 20 years ago! These two creatures visited me regularly on my television. Now it comes again to visit my Son. My son is a loyal audience. I sometimes enjoy watching the cartoon-films, too. I am sure that not only my son and I love these films from Walt Disney. I have ever heard an issue that once most Americans were so impressed by Jerry that they were not willing to kill rats or mice. Okay, this one is only an issue and not an important point here to figure out. I am not sure the truth of the issue, either. Characters The main film stars in Tom & Jerry are a rat (mouse) and a cat. ...Tom and Jerry always has been and always will be classic cartoon television. I have to say that my preference is for the older 40s and 50s versions. The later revised brasher artwork which came out in the 60s I think always left me a bit turned off. However, if you leave that quibble aside, Tom and Jerry is wonderful stuff, typical slapstick beat em up conflict between cat and mouse. They've been repeated so often that you can usually recite the story from memory and that gets a bit boring sometimes, but even then they have their good bits. The best shows are the ones with additional characters, such as Spike the bulldog, although the baby duck is horrendous. Tom and Jerry is still good for oldies and kids still find it wonderful viewing.... Read review

...Well ok it seems I am the first to write anything about Tom & Jerry. Well I think this is a classic cartoon, the basis of which is used in many other cartoons, it is the chase. In tom and jerry obviously it is tom (the Cat) chasing Jerry (the Mouse), other such characters are Wil E Coyote and Road runner. In my opinion these cartoons where the best and still are although there are a lot of other cartoons. I was brought up watching these kinds of cartoons so it is hard for me to have a negative opinion against them. Well I am really just a cartoon king I just love them. ...All the chases ever created put together cannot even begin to compete with this all time great product created by Hannah Barbera. The characters are a brainchild of an absolute god and id give anything to just shake his hand and tell him what a spectacle he’s created. Tom the greedy, gluttonous, jealous but sometimes adorable cat continuously chases Jerry, a clever, big hearted, doll of a mouse. The chases are fast paced and the bams and whams are very witty and sweet indeed. Its not just the chases its how they’re done and countered, over the whole episode as well as momentary counters. I love the few cartoons in which Tom and Jerry team up to oust another cat from the house or Jerry helps Tom get back in the house because he gets too bored without him. ...I’ve been watching Tom and Jerry ever since I remember first seeing entertaining cartoons, this is really the sort of cartoon you can just put on at any time, weather it’s after your back from work, school, just before going to work, at a party, or a t anytime, the pranks in this show really keep your cheeks red with laughter. Even though it’s the traditional cat-mouse chase, it’s really one which has stuck with masses of people from all over irrespective of taste or culture. Now let’s take a look at the main content in Tom and Jerry; it’s all about chases and chases are good or maybe great whether Tom and Jerry or The Road Runner Show. I love the never ending Chase and the comedy in these serials.However much he tries,Tom is never able to catch Jerry, who is too clever and cunning .And the situations are so very comical. Some of these cartoons are nearly sixty years old , the first ones were made in the 1940's . They were created by William Hanna and Joseph Barbera and made in MGM studios in the Hollywood, then it has been made over and over again right until now.A feature film was made in 1993, which was a super duper success. ...With my cousin staying for the holidays at our house, I have watched quite a few episodes of this cartoon, and still it remains a favourite, the antics of Tom and Jerry are long lasting. It actually surprises me how long they have been going. Tom and Jerry try to out wit each other, it’s usually Tom the cat trying to catch Jerry the mouse. They do all sorts to each other, they hit each other with pans, put obstacles in the way that try to catch the other out. My cousin is intrigued at how nothing serious happens to Tom and Jerry, especially after they have taken a good beating of the other. I suppose you need to explain to a child it’s not real, and when they hit each other so hard, it’s only acting. ...Tom and Jerry are THE best cartoon duo of all time. They create madness and mayhem wherever they go. Tom is a blue tomcat who lives with his mistress, a big, big lady who is afraid of mice, and often chases them around with a witches-style broom. Jerry is the little brown mouse who, strangely enough, inhabits the abode of Tom and his mistress. He lives in the mousehole that has the perfectly formed arched doorway that all decent mouseholes have..! More often than not Tom hates Jerry and tries every trick in the 'how to catch a mouse' book.
