...So there I was with a trip to Leicester from North Wales, so I visited a website to get a route map, OH NO! How confusing, so I bought myself the new TomTom One Local from my local Currys for only £199.98. After getting the TomTom home and unpacking it I couldn't believe how compact the new model was compared to the older models that I had used in the past the new TomTom One is about 2.8cms deep, 9.5cms wide and 8cms high. In the box you get the SD card with the UK map on it as well as a CD with TomTom Home, which I will mention Later, the in-car charger, cable for plugging the TomTom into your PC, windscreen mount, registration card and the manual that you need to get the TomTom running. ..., well bar the little star telling me that feature available only on 910. It is a bit discriminating to ask me to buy the 910 (preloaded with USA & Canada as well as the EU maps) rather than the 510 the GB and MRE which are just fine. (For the record the 710 has Western EU maps but you pay £100 extra). I have a big enough card now. Let me play my mp3s, let me show this off to grandma and display the silly Xmas pictures. What makes it frustrating is that TomTom has put 1 mp3 and 1 wma song there just to rub it your face alles " You should have given us more money to play this"…GRRRRRRR Entering Destinations, Navigation It is such a breeze entering a new destination. Additionally there is an separate mount that can be purchased its called a Transmitter Mount, it looks like the original mount with one magical twist, it enables you to listen to MP3 music/Audio Books thro you car radio speakers. ..., and know exactly what it means. (an example - it will say "turn left and than turn right" and it actually means go straight over the roundabout) Also sometimes it might tell you to turn into a no entry road, that is because they changed the road recently and the Tom Tom map has not beed updated yet, don't worry though, as it will calculate an alternative. When you are in a tunnel, you are likely to loose the connection with the sattelite, but as soon as you are out it takes a second to connect again, so no reall problem there. If you are planing to use a traffic update, make sure that you have the mobile with a bluetooth and that your service provider supports Tom Tom. I was with 3G network and had to change as they didn't support Tom Tom and I couldn't connect the mobile to it to get the traffic info. Also remember that if you don't have... Read review
