...TomTom Navigator brings the market leading SatNav software and functionality to a PDA. Plan your routes with your preferences (avoid toll roads, fastest, etc). The software is very easy to install - just run the CD on your computer and it copies the files to your PDA - easy! This does take a long time however so dont think you can just install and use in 5 mins... set it going whilst you are doing something else and leave it to it. Once the software has been installed and the maps copied across to your PDA, you go through a setup program on the initial load. You configure your GPS receiver (bluetooth or wired) and set up your preferences - voice, metric/imperial etc. This is easy to complete and a nice welcome to the software. ..., the first thing it does is look for updates either to the PC software of the TomTom itself. The most important update I find is the map share. This is basically when people update the TomTom themselves and then upload this change onto the website and this is then made available for everyone else to get. This helps ensure your TomTom is always up to date. Once the updates are complete then you get to the main screen. On here there are about 5 options (and another few if you scroll to the next page). These are big icons which give a brief description as to what you can do if you click on a particular item. For example, one might be for music, another for settings, another for voices, etc. Basically everything you could need to go on the TomTom is right at your finger tips and easy to find. ...Seen a few negatives ie.WOLFIE665 review below and past experience with Tomtom made me nervous, but my TomTom 720T arrived and with some trepidation I linked it to my PC to update and it was seamless, worked a treat. Couldnt download the latest European map 7.10 as I had 7.5 under their "latest map guarantee" but hopefully Tomtom will sort me out. Bought a carry case (you need one) from Lindens Ebay for £4.99 in blue. they have black, brillant and it arrived in a flash, cannot understand why someone would pay over £19 for a leather one as this is padded, perfect. ...The TomTom GO 510 gives clear concise directions accompanied by a map marked with the route you are following which comes in handy for those mini roundabouts that don't register on the map. Put in your destination by selecting a favourite (a place pre-defined by you), an address (can be done by postcode or street address) a town or a point of interest and TomTom will get you there. ...I purchased this Tom Tom Navigator 5 for approx 200 GBP two months back. I am an IT Consultant and am required to go to different client's sites at different locations. At first I used to print out the directions from mapquest or theaa.com and then try to follow these, but always I used to lose or miss out in between and land up searching again. ...I purchased this product just over a year ago, and have had no problems what-so-ever. The tomtom GO 500 has an easy touch-screen navagational display, in which you can enter an address, postcode and its GPS will direct you to the location whereever you may be. You can also set your home address in, and wherever you are, if you click home, it will find the fastest route home for you, and direct you there, not to mention telling you how far away you are, estimated time of arrival, and will also give you the option if you want the route to include toll roads or not. The tomtom GO 500 will naturate your directions outloud on its built in speaker.
