...I purchased this product just over a year ago, and have had no problems what-so-ever. The tomtom GO 500 has an easy touch-screen navagational display, in which you can enter an address, postcode and its GPS will direct you to the location whereever you may be. You can also set your home address in, and wherever you are, if you click home, it will find the fastest route home for you, and direct you there, not to mention telling you how far away you are, estimated time of arrival, and will also give you the option if you want the route to include toll roads or not. The tomtom GO 500 will naturate your directions outloud on its built in speaker. The TomTom Go 500 can also direct you to whats called a POI (Point Of Interest) which can things such as nearest petrol station, nearest hotel, resturant, nightclub, supermarket etc... Read review

...The Tom Tom Go 500 offers a lot for the price. It is reasonably small while still keeping a reasonably sized screen. The screen is clear, and incredibly easy to use. The touch screens enables you too quickly and easily access the menu system and select different areas. It has a piece of software that tells you where all the traffic jams are which is very helpful. Although this only works when it is connected to your phone via the Bluetooth connection. All of this is offered in Tom Tom Plus, which is a subscription service. When connected to you phone, you can make calls easily, and receive and read text messages on the screen. But, when driving, you can not really hear the conversation when calling someone; the loud speaker just isn't loud enough. ...Tom-tom's are first and foremost the best gps line I have ever seen in my store iv been lucky enough to test drive most the main branded gps's in the last year. Tom-tom 300, 500, 700 are right up there with the pro's for good prices. This review is obviously on the Tom-tom 500 though you may want to read my other reviews on the other two when I get them up to compare. The Tom-tom 500 witch ill be referring to as the 500, has many different features witch are mostly like all the other in car gps units. Thought I think they are better laid out and easier to use. ...The TomTom 910. Well this mere mortal is here again. Over the years I have owned 3 TomTom devices, the TomTom Classic, TomTom 500 and now the TomTom 910. Family members are benefiting from my cast-offs in a big way. So imagine my delight when visiting my local Halfords on the 3rd of May 2006 to purchase screen wash, I found myself being mysteriously drawn by an unknown force to the GPS display. I could feel my credit card trembling in fear, in a euphoric haze I purchased the said device. I left the store trembling in anticipation, achieved warp factor 7 and found myself at home opening the box. ...to about half way through and charge again. Do not let it drain. You can always use another battery but you can't change it. You have to dismantle it and to put the icing on the cake you have to solder a few bits. WHHAATTT? I hear you saying. Well tough would say TomTom or just use it with the in-car charger from then on. .... As well as A to B planning where you tell the sat nav before you journey, I want to start here and I want to go there, so when you get in the car you just press start and you're off. The cover of the Tom-tom 700 can also be removed and the color changed. Though make sure when you buy it says tom-tom 700!!! Since the 300 and 500 have a hole in the bottom right corner where the memory stick is. The unit has built in 20GB hard drive to save numbers, points of interest, favorites, and planed routes, and extra voice over's. For those of you that don't understand hard drive memory capacity 20GB is an almost impossible about of memory to fill up. (if anyone has filled a Tom-tom 700 up please tell me.) The disadvantages, the size it's just a bit too big to practically fit in a pocket, and a lot of women will find it difficult to fit in an average... Read review

...The TomTom GO 510 gives clear concise directions accompanied by a map marked with the route you are following which comes in handy for those mini roundabouts that don't register on the map. Put in your destination by selecting a favourite (a place pre-defined by you), an address (can be done by postcode or street address) a town or a point of interest and TomTom will get you there. You can select which way you want to go (shortest, quickest, etc) and what time you want to be there. If for any reason you want / need to go a different way mid-journey TomTom can do that for you too. If you need to go to several places in one journey you can use the itinary planner to do that. ...This is the easiest and most feature packed GPS in car navigation system that Tom Tom have brought out. I bought one from PC World for £350 and have to say that it is money well spent. I bought it as primarily my job took me to varying places in the United Kingdom on a weekly basis and up till the point i bought it, i had to rely on using paper maps bought from garages. With the incorporated Speed Camera database, you cant go wrong and you get warnings early enough about fixed cameras. (The database doesnt cover mobile speed cameras). With a avriety of languages to choose from, it is suitable for people in all countries. The features are great and navigation is so easy to work out.. simply put in the destination postcode and after a few seconds of plotting you are ready to go. ...need to do is slide the TomTom on the mount by using what can only be described as a slot. The main reason you get satellite navigation is for directions so I'll talk about that first. Once you turn the machine on and your current position is found (which takes no more than about 15 seconds from pressing the on button to your position being found) then you need to put in your destination. This can either be done by putting in the postcode or manually finding the street. Once you do this the TomTom will calculate your route and confirm it to you. Once this is done then you are up and ready to go. It's as simple as that. As you travel it also gives out information via the speaker such as an upcoming turn or a speed camera ahead. This information is very useful and gives you plenty of warning of what to do. It will tell you when you need... Read review
