Some of the features of the 700 are standard things like home address button for quickly getting home, favorites where you can save friends, families, customers addresses, full post code search, normal address search and points of interest that are things like hospitals restaurants ext. there are a huge amount of different points of interest on all the tom-tom range. There is even web sites where you can down load different voices that tell you when to go left, right. My personal favorite is Ozzy Osbourne. It also has other functions that some more basic sat nav units don't have. Itinerary planning where you can set up before your journey and have any number or different destinations set up, eg. ...What do you want a satellite navigation system for ? I used to ask myself that question, and at the time I could only reply - to find my way to places I'm unfamiliar with. Now, however, I would list a lot more - especially if you look at the additional functions provided by the TomTom GO700. You can, for example: - Find the nearest cashpoint/petrol station/hotel/restaurant.... - Receive traffic updates and re-route accordingly - Be warned when approaching speed cameras And to save additional expense, while keeping you road-legal, the TomTom GO700 even links to bluetooth mobile phones and allows handsfree calling.....in whatever car you choose to take it into (the GO700 is completely portable) But what about the basic stuff ? ...The TomTom 910. Well this mere mortal is here again. Over the years I have owned 3 TomTom devices, the TomTom Classic, TomTom 500 and now the TomTom 910. Family members are benefiting from my cast-offs in a big way. So imagine my delight when visiting my local Halfords on the 3rd of May 2006 to purchase screen wash, I found myself being mysteriously drawn by an unknown force to the GPS display. I could feel my credit card trembling in fear, in a euphoric haze I purchased the said device. I left the store trembling in anticipation, achieved warp factor 7 and found myself at home opening the box. OK so I had an idea, that they were about to introduce a new range with even more features than the last, but I did not realise that they were to appear so soon. ...The TomTom GO 510 gives clear concise directions accompanied by a map marked with the route you are following which comes in handy for those mini roundabouts that don't register on the map. Put in your destination by selecting a favourite (a place pre-defined by you), an address (can be done by postcode or street address) a town or a point of interest and TomTom will get you there. You can select which way you want to go (shortest, quickest, etc) and what time you want to be there. If for any reason you want / need to go a different way mid-journey TomTom can do that for you too. If you need to go to several places in one journey you can use the itinary planner to do that. ...Tom-tom's are first and foremost the best gps line I have ever seen in my store iv been lucky enough to test drive most the main branded gps's in the last year. Tom-tom 300, 500, 700 are right up there with the pro's for good prices. This review is obviously on the Tom-tom 500 though you may want to read my other reviews on the other two when I get them up to compare. The Tom-tom 500 witch ill be referring to as the 500, has many different features witch are mostly like all the other in car gps units. Thought I think they are better laid out and easier to use. ...I purchased this product just over a year ago, and have had no problems what-so-ever. The tomtom GO 500 has an easy touch-screen navagational display, in which you can enter an address, postcode and its GPS will direct you to the location whereever you may be. You can also set your home address in, and wherever you are, if you click home, it will find the fastest route home for you, and direct you there, not to mention telling you how far away you are, estimated time of arrival, and will also give you the option if you want the route to include toll roads or not. The tomtom GO 500 will naturate your directions outloud on its built in speaker. The TomTom Go 500 can also direct you to whats called a POI (Point Of Interest) which can things such as nearest petrol station, nearest hotel, resturant, nightclub, supermarket etc... Read review

...This is the easiest and most feature packed GPS in car navigation system that Tom Tom have brought out. I bought one from PC World for £350 and have to say that it is money well spent. I bought it as primarily my job took me to varying places in the United Kingdom on a weekly basis and up till the point i bought it, i had to rely on using paper maps bought from garages. With the incorporated Speed Camera database, you cant go wrong and you get warnings early enough about fixed cameras. (The database doesnt cover mobile speed cameras). With a avriety of languages to choose from, it is suitable for people in all countries. The features are great and navigation is so easy to work out.. simply put in the destination postcode and after a few seconds of plotting you are ready to go. ...The Tom Tom Go 500 offers a lot for the price. It is reasonably small while still keeping a reasonably sized screen. The screen is clear, and incredibly easy to use. The touch screens enables you too quickly and easily access the menu system and select different areas. It has a piece of software that tells you where all the traffic jams are which is very helpful. Although this only works when it is connected to your phone via the Bluetooth connection. All of this is offered in Tom Tom Plus, which is a subscription service. When connected to you phone, you can make calls easily, and receive and read text messages on the screen. But, when driving, you can not really hear the conversation when calling someone; the loud speaker just isn't loud enough. Although it is fine if you are just keeping to lower speeds and driving around... Read review
