...I recently acquired the TomTom GO 710 from Halfords I paid approximately 300pounds in store. The box it came in was nice and compact it contained;1GB SD Card, Carry Case, Home Dock, Car Charger, Windscreen Dock, External Microphone, Quick Start Guide and the TomTom unit itself. The TomTom has a Lithium-Ion battery (4 hours operation) which enables the TomTom for lengthy use without charging though a car charger is included with the package. The dimensions: are 112x81x66 mm and it weighs: 300 grams so although it is light it is a little large to fir comfortably into most peoples pockets should you be walking with the navigation unit. Though it would fit into a large coat pocket or small bag. TomTom though have produced a handy accessory pouch which is in stores now at 30pounds for a leather one. ...- although I will doubtless have to pay to update them at some point in the future. I also had no difficulty syncing with my Motorola V3 mobile 'phone. The one compromise I knowingly took was to choose somewhat fatter TomTom over the slimline Garmin equivalent. The TomTom doesn't stow away in a suit pocket (but might in a big coat pocket) whereas the Garmin Nuvo looked as if it might. But I got everything else I wanted and I can wholeheartedly commend this unit to Mac owners. FWIW, I got mine with a free remote control (worth £30) from Global Positioning Systems online for just £245 inc VAT and delivery and their service was excellent.... Read review

And the image keeps up with you as you move so you always know what's up ahead when you're driving. If you select a destination with a tap, tap, tap by, say, picking a point on the screen map, entering a Post Code or choosing a pre-loaded Point of Interest like a tourist attraction a cinema or a shopping centre, then the TomTom will plot the quickest course and guide you there by telling you to turn right or left when you need to in plenty of time. ...I'll be completely honest with you, I really can't praise this product enough, TomTom seem to have come up with a little cracker! I don't actually own one of these units, but I do work in a shop that sells them, so I can pass on my experience and opinions to you. The TomTom Go (in case you haven't read the description, or don't really know what it is) is a self contained in-car satellite navigation system. In my opinion it beats all the other currently available solutions hands down, simply due to it's style, ease of use and value for money. After taking the TomTom Go out of the box you will need to power it. The TomTom can either be powered through the mains using the supplied mains transformer, or using your car's cigarette lighter socket and the supplied cable.
