...I use TomTom Navigator 6 with my mobile phone - MDA. I have also tested nearly all other software for navigation so i will try to compare. TomTom has the best menu navigation - it has only 5 items menu so it is possible to browse in menus when you are driving even if you have got a small display on your PDA. The menus are simple and it is very easy to adjust something very fast. Maps for TomTom are made not by countries as it is normally done by the others but by packs of countries so you dont need to switch maps so often. On the other hand if you choose igo2006 for example you can have all the maps at once and then no need to switch anything - there brings TomTom some difficulties when you are passing borders between two map sectors. ...The TomTom GO 510 gives clear concise directions accompanied by a map marked with the route you are following which comes in handy for those mini roundabouts that don't register on the map. Put in your destination by selecting a favourite (a place pre-defined by you), an address (can be done by postcode or street address) a town or a point of interest and TomTom will get you there. You can select which way you want to go (shortest, quickest, etc) and what time you want to be there. Advantages: The humour throughout the whole cartoon

...The cartoon 'Tom and Jerry' has been around for as long as I can remember. You all know the little characters! Tom the cat, who is terrorized by a little mouse called Jerry. I'm sure Tom has nightmares about this god-forsaken mouse! Although there's very little dialogue in this cartoon, there is no need for it, as just watching these two creatures fighting it out is a story in itself. Tom, I'm sure, really Jerry deep down, but feels it's a cats duty to chase after a mouse. Very often, you will find Tom chasing Jerry, trying to kill him, or have him for dinner, demolishing the house in the process! But Jerry always comes up trumps and poor Tom ends up suffering. ...So there I was with a trip to Leicester from North Wales, so I visited a website to get a route map, OH NO! How confusing, so I bought myself the new TomTom One Local from my local Currys for only £199.98. After getting the TomTom home and unpacking it I couldn't believe how compact the new model was compared to the older models that I had used in the past the new TomTom One is about 2.8cms deep, 9.5cms wide and 8cms high. In the box you get the SD card with the UK map on it as well as a CD with TomTom Home, which I will mention Later, the in-car charger, cable for plugging the TomTom into your PC, windscreen mount, registration card and the manual that you need to get the TomTom running. ...I recently acquired the TomTom GO 710 from Halfords I paid approximately 300pounds in store. The box it came in was nice and compact it contained;1GB SD Card, Carry Case, Home Dock, Car Charger, Windscreen Dock, External Microphone, Quick Start Guide and the TomTom unit itself. The TomTom has a Lithium-Ion battery (4 hours operation) which enables the TomTom for lengthy use without charging though a car charger is included with the package. The dimensions: are 112x81x66 mm and it weighs: 300 grams so although it is light it is a little large to fir comfortably into most peoples pockets should you be walking with the navigation unit. Though it would fit into a large coat pocket or small bag. TomTom though have produced a handy accessory pouch which is in stores now at 30pounds for a leather one. ...if more than one driver is using the car, it even allows you to switch the Tom-Tom to other cars if necessary without needing an extra holder. all in all, a great piece of kit, although the loudspeaker could be a bit louder, as it is sometime hard to hear over the background chatter in the car, and it is fairly large, something that has been changed for the newer models. Naturally, the Tom-Tom is a highly attractive item, so i would suggest removing both the bracket and the machine itself from sight when you aren't in the car.... Read review
