...should be heading for. It has software that is easy to use and allows you to connect to your home computer and update readily. You do need to use the in car charger if going any distance, but its easy enough to use. The sucker is very quick to put in place, and also take down again. I like that you can have places of special interest, like petrol stations showing. Especially useful when going to an area that is remote (like parts of Wales and Scotland) so you have an idea of where a station is. I have two memory cards, simply to ensure I always have a back up since all information is on the one card. Route options are good, with more than just the quickest option available. ...the tom tom rider... never again get lost on a bike, scooter etc.. this excellent piece of kit fits simply onto the top of a conventional motorbike's front forks or can be attached to a scooter fairing/screen with some simply modification and being only around a kg or so its very light so theres no real risk of breaking anything when attaching the device... once attached your ready to navigate to anywhere you please.. but its gonna rain.. navigation over right?? wrong the tom tom rider is water resistant so can be used in pretty much all conditions.. even in direct sunlight the anti glare screen is easy to see and use.. getting directions from the device happens through a wireless bluetooth headset that you wear inside your helmet.. this headset can also be used to answer voice calls from you mobile phone as the device also routes calls... ...that if you want to charge the device at home you will need an extra cable at extra cost (around 10-15 Pounds). Actually this should have been included. Similarly you need to bus extra SD ram card for every new country. 2. It has certain software bugs, which means that if you give only the post code, it may take you to a wrong place. I have faced this problems few times, where it works inaccurately. It works better if you give the street name as well. 3. It cannot identify certain one ways or U turns. This has happened with me that my TomTom was telling me to enter a certain street which was one way. So it definitely needs a better Map and street knowledge. It needs continuous updating. 4. This is not exactly a TomTom drawback, but a human. The usage of Sat Nav makes you really dumb, as one is so used to it and gets dependent on it that one... Read review

I sat down to open my presents and was very surprised to be presented with a TomTom One Sat Nav. Great, something exciting and interesting I can actually use after Christmas Day. So after opening the box and throwing the manual back into the box I switched it on. Catching little greeting at the beginning I got a good feeling about this present! ...would be travelling 8 MPH faster. The big plus is the speed camera warnings. This can save you your license and of course points on the license. At last there is a device that is on your side while on the road, a real friend. I only wish it was available 10 years ago. TomTom sat nav system requires regular upgrades from online. The downloadable file is not too big if you have broadband, though can take 20 minutes or so for a dial up connection. The software is very easy to use and is worth having the £20.00 add on fee for all the speed camera alerts as the traffic police always change the locations of cameras every 2-3 months. This is hardly dealing with road safety is it! You don't get road builders swapping roads around making accident blackspots different every 2-3 months do you.....This is why the updates for the software... Read review

...We got this amazing peice of equipment last year before we set off for our holiday in France. ***My Story*** Unlike every single trip to France for the past 6 years, this one was care free and relaxed! No more fights between the parents about directions or asking how long it was until we got there from the kids (as it could be seen from the back seat and says in days, hours, minutes and seconds how long until you reach your destination)! After driving through the whole of Scotland, England and onto the ferry, we parked for 5 mins and changed the memory card to France... that simple and then we were back on the road. Once we were there the TomTom still got so much use: for day trips, directions to the beach or supermarket or even to remember your way back to your hotel/campsite after a day out. ...I bought this specifically as we want to do some traveling around France. From plotting in some destinations it seems to illustrate areas well and know most places that are not too small. I think the 'city centre' function is a little off putting as it would lead one to think of cities, whereas, helpfully, most small towns are easily found using this function, why not call it 'Town Centre'? I found the system very, very easy to set up and use, on screen instructions are helpful as is the Tom Tom home package which comes in the box. The touch screen function is good to use, and the keys big enough so that one doesn't hit the wrong one by mistake. ...TomTom Map of the USA and Canada Maps TomTom Maps are a 2gb SD card with route maps stored on them that are made to work with the TomTom satellite navigation system. They originally come with UK/Europe maps so these are a brilliant upgrade if you are considering taking your car abroad or hiring a car and driving over there. These are a lot easier than using a standard map when you are visiting another country and make getting around easy. We have just bought one of these as we are planning a trip to the USA and decided one of these would be useful. I have never been abroad so certainly wont know my way around. ...With some trepidation as Ive dealt with TomTom in the early days I ordered up the Go 720T. Ive read a few negatives but Ive used the tomtom software for some years on my PDA (after they got it right) and so am familiar with it The 720T arrived free overnight by 1pm from "The Link" for £256 and I set it up on my PC. It linked without problems via the Tomtom Home V2.1 The only item was the map update, it said I had the latest map 7.05 when in fact the website had 7.10 map. Ive emailed Tomtom so hope they will provide me with a link under their latest map guarantee. The unit has worked well and Im pleased I made the purchase. The Traffic addition linked up but as yet I havent completed any long journeys to see if it kicks in.
