TomTom One 3rd Edition
Review of TomTom ONE 3rd Edition by
martin0201
Advantages: Easy to use, great additional features
Disadvantages: Slightly slower than other models on satellite detection
...One 3rd Edition. It, like the TomTom One 3rd Edition is really easy to use.
Problems
I have thus far found no problems at all with the TomTom One 3rd Edition. It is easy to use, it has good features and on the three journeys I have taken with it so far it has not led me up any railway lines!
3 month update
I now used the product for three months, navigating my way around many different places in Lincolnshire and East Yorkshire. I have found that the satellites are a bit slow to pick up, usually taking about a minute - not slow, admittedly, but slower than some of my friends'. Setting destinations and finding addresses is incredibly easy, and now I am used to it takes no longer than a few seconds. There really are no other criticisms - a great piece of kit!...

TomTom Navigator 6 for PDA
Review of TomTom Navigator 6 20 channel GPS kit by
darrenwalton
Advantages: Incredibly easy to use.
Disadvantages: Slow cold start time on GPS reciever.
...If you are looking for a Satellite Navigation system that is easy to use and reliable then this could be the system for you. I bought this product to use in conjunction with my 02 XDA exec mobile phone. The sd card (arrives as mini sd with an sd adaptor) installs the programme quickly and easily onto your device, all you need is enough free memory. After that, turn on your GPS reciever from the box, and your bluetooth and connect the devices. From here on you are up and running.
You can store your home destination, and if you have added addresses to contacts in your phone, you can access them directly from TomTom. It can take a while to pinpoint your location from a cold start up, which can be frustrating if you are starting from an unknown location and are wanting to get on the go. You can tailor TomTom to your personal preferecnces...

Road maps... What are they???
Review of TomTom ONE Local by
mobyl247
Advantages: speed camers alerts
Disadvantages: leaves a smudge on window screen
...Hi Ciao Readers,
How would you like a that special someone beside you to navigate every part of that awkward journey, without arguments and tension, and even tell you that a speed camera is approaching; now what could be better. Retails for £199.00
This is the new satellite navigation Tom Tom, One.
I've only had my friend TomTom for a few months and already he is a permanent fixture in the car. I've never looked into the Sat Nav before TomTom arrived.
It was very easy to use and set up my personal preferences, the slick 2inch monitor and compact display, made life very easy. The location router map planner are top draw and is superb whilst driving especially if a roadblock is ahead, Ideal for avoiding traffic and notorious bad spots. You can be sure that TomTom will get you to your destination as quickly as possible.

My Tom Tom
Review of TomTom ONE Europe GPS receiver by
lovefairy
Advantages: very easy and very fast to find destinations
Disadvantages: --
...The green preparation contains:
-NAVIGATOR
-CARD OF MEMORY PRERECORDED
-HOLLOW OF NUTRITION USB
-HOLLOW OF NUTRITION for TAKEN FROM CAR (that of the accendisigari to understand us)
-WINDY OF RUBBER WITH SUPPORT
-BOOKLET OF EDUCATIONS
-PROGRAM INSTALLATION OF CD FOR PC
-CARD CODE TOM TOM EUROPES
The first one what to do is to be depicted it with the classic mailings: tongue, preferences... Besides, to be able use it immediately, it is necessary to introduce the key code restored on the inclusive card of plastic in the preparation. The code is unambiguous for I model, and is of 15 figures. A made time this, the Tom Tom is ready to to be used...
It is not difficult, it is immediately ready to the use. For first thing I planned the base (my house) introducing first the town, then the address. in the turn of little seconds...

Let's Go!
Review of Tomtom GO Navigation by
gregslater84
Advantages: Very easy to use, great value for money!
Disadvantages: None I can think of!
...I'll be completely honest with you, I really can't praise this product enough, TomTom seem to have come up with a little cracker! I don't actually own one of these units, but I do work in a shop that sells them, so I can pass on my experience and opinions to you.
The TomTom Go (in case you haven't read the description, or don't really know what it is) is a self contained in-car satellite navigation system. In my opinion it beats all the other currently available solutions hands down, simply due to it's style, ease of use and value for money.
After taking the TomTom Go out of the box you will need to power it. The TomTom can either be powered through the mains using the supplied mains transformer, or using your car's cigarette lighter socket and the supplied cable. While you power the unit using either of these methods it will also...

This is your TomTom speaking ...
Review of TomTom GO 300 by
Geldoff
Advantages: Safer driving and you'll never get lost.
Disadvantages: Seems a little pricey at first.
...If this little gem had been around in biblical times then there is no way that Jesus would have had to spend 40 days and 40 nights lost in the wilderness. Tap, tap, tap on the TomTom Go's screen with his index finger and he'd have been back in Bethlehem performing miraculous deeds before sunset!
: : : What does it do? : : :
Let me tell you a little about the TomTom. It's a portable satellite navigation system, which means that as long as it's turned on and can see the sky it can pinpoint its position to within 1 square metre anywhere on the surface of the earth. Yes, anywhere. And if it's beside you then it's pinpointed where you are too.
The TomTom Go comes complete with detailed maps of your country and you can buy maps of other countries so you'll know where you are when you're on holiday. The TomTom turns the maps...

Review of TomTom Navigator 3 Great Britain GPS software by
dsayce
Advantages: Easy to Use, works well
Disadvantages: dependant on GPS used
...Well I figure that if you have read the other reviews on here and looked around on the Internet you will already know the basics, however I will run through the basics:
Available for Pocket PC and Palm
Support for Postcode locations
Itinary Planner, useful for stop offs (these routes can be saved for future use)
Points of Interest, easily local nearest cash machine, airport, petrol station (saved me a couple of times!!), tourist locations, etc.
Integrates with Pocket outlook
Ability to warn or avoid the London Congestion Zone
3D or 2D map view options
Night colours setting allows map colours to be more suitable for night driving.
In this review I will tell you about how I have used it….
TomTom Navigator 3

Nice piece of kit
Review of TomTom GO 720 by
crware
Advantages: Full featured, relaible navigation.
Disadvantages: None I can think of yet.
...Excellent piece of kit which does what it is supposed to - help with navigation.
This latest offering includes voice response (which I haven't tested yet) and an FM transmitter so you can hear your instructions on the radio.
The display is large and clear and the spoken directions include street names and road numbers.
TomTom on line support is comprehensive and includes the ability to download predicted satellite positions to speed up acquisition time.
The UK map includes the congestion charging zone in London and will navigate you around it to avoid tolls.
The GPS receiver seems to be improved from the last TomTom I used, the Go 910. The latter frequently got confused when I stopped at traffic lights and kept telling me to do 180 degree turns, and one time wouldn't acquire satellites at all. The 720 has suffered no such problems...

Does Size Matter?
Review of TomTom ONE XL United Kingdom & Republic of Ireland GPS receiver by
darren1987
Advantages: Bigger Screen, Easy to use, subscribe to speed camera services and many more
Disadvantages: Can lose satellite signal from time-to-time
...Following the huge success of the original TomTom One, the team have got together and come up with this, 'The TomTom One XL'.
My dad used to travel fully equipped with the original TomTom One and found it to be very benficial. The device was so easy to use but my old man has stumpy sausage fingers so he found it a little difficult when typing addresses, post codes etc. Then the TomTom One XL came along boasting a bigger screen with all the advantages of the original. Well the outcome was how you'd expect it to be with a TomTom, success, success, success. The bigger screen allowed the old man to navigate the device even easier than the original.
For you to get a better idea here are some of the advantages;
-although the this is the XL version, the device remains as slim as ever which means you can carry just about wherever you want...

The talking map...
Review of TomTom ONE Great Britain by
Daz2001_uk
Advantages: Small, bright and light
Disadvantages: battery life is rubbish
...gives you two forms of directions at the same time. One is visual so that you can see which turning you should be taking if you are unsure, your speed how far you still have to go, how long it should take you without any problems and another is spoken. The spoken versions are all pre-recorded and you can choose to change it to someone that you might be more comfortable with. You can choose either a male or female voice. You can also choose where they are from. Some of the ones that are on the TomTom are from the UK, US and Australia.
Some extras that you can have on the TomTom one are traffic reports so that you can navigate around any traffic jams and the TomTom will take them into account when planning your journy, you can also have weather reports and speed camera positions. The only problems with these are that you have to pay extra...
