Oh dear me.. Tesco Value Tomato Ketchup
Advantages: Cheap in price
Disadvantages: Acidic taste, strange over powering flavours
...When it comes to eating my tea I always end up with a lot of sauces accompanying it. This can range from anything from mayonnaise, barbeque sauce to tomato ketchup. I don't think there are many people who don't like a bit of tomato ketchup with their chips (Unless you're my dad that is who gets in a panic if it ends up on his plate!)
I have always been a big fan of the Heinz brand of tomato ketchup but lately I have watched the price go up and up, the 570g bottle currently retailing in Tesco for the price of £2.00. I decided to try the Tesco Value tomato ketchup, the 570g bottle being priced at a fantastic 38p, after all, Ketchup is ketchup and surely they could not be that much difference in taste, a tomato is a tomato and I was only paying for fancy packaging and a brand name right????
The Tesco Value product comes in a glass...

Lidl's Hot Tomato Ketchup
Advantages: Inexpensive, great taste, glass bottle
Disadvantages: Not as concentrated as Heinz Chilli Ketchup
...I started buying this Tomato Sauce a few years ago from Lidl's.
Priced very affordable at £0.58p (Oct 2009) it leaves it's rivals for dust.
As for the taste it tastes a lot like Heinz Chilli Ketchup which is way more expensive.
The ketchup comes in a 500ml/ 560grams glass jar. I quite like this because it is old-fashioned.
It has 0.2% chilli in it and it's very low in fat.
The taste of the ketchup is not too hot, it won't blow your head off!
The texture is quite thick but not too thick and once eaten, leaves a lovely after-taste.
Maybe this is beacuse the container is glass and not plastic.
I've introduced a few family members to this sauce and they now love it.
I buy it quite often as I'm a sauce person not a mayonnaise person.
This product represents excellent value for money, forget Tesco Tomato Sauce, etc. You will not...

Tomato Ketchup with your ice cream sir? (Branston Tomato Ketchup)
Advantages: Good value, nice taste
Disadvantages: Doesn't go with ice-cream
...After being accused over the last couple of weeks of having ketchup with everything, I thought this brand of the red stuff deserved a quick review as it is currently has pride of place in my fridge.
It is presented in what nowadays seems to be the typical ketchup bottles, in a plastic container with a reseal able white lid. I believe these new designs of bottles have meant to be easy to extract the sauce. This have to say is successful in the fact that unlike the traditional glass containers you do not risk emptying have the bottles contents onto your food to make it into an undesirable tangy tomato soup. However, I find once you get to the end of the bottle it is incredibly difficult to get the last of the precious sauce out. The bottle in my fridge contains 720grams although I believe it is available in a variety of sizes...

Heinz Tomato Ketchup ... luuuvly!
Advantages: Everything!
Disadvantages: None!
...One product i simply can't live without during mealtime is Heinz Tomato Ketchup. Heinz Ketchup holds an almost iconic stature for the British public during mealtime, and I for one am no different. Heinz Ketchup sits at my dinner table more often than my own family, and it has done since I can remember.
Heinz Tomato Ketchup was first imported to the UK in 1896, but it wasn't until 1948 that it began mass producing in the UK. Heinz Ketchup was only available in the original glass bottles, that are still available to this day, that was until 1987 when Heinz first introduced the plastic squeeze bottle.
Today, Heinz Tomato Ketchup is available in a number of different styled and sized packaging. Heinz have also expanded the range of Tomato Ketchups available, from the organic range to the reduced sugar and salt range. Even more...

WALKERS TOMATO KETCHUP AND SAUSAGE CRISPS
Advantages: lovely taste and smell
Disadvantages: they are a limited edition flavour
...:
181kcal
Fat 11.4g
(of which sat fat is 3.5g)
Packaging - well the bag is the usual size for a small bag of crisps. It is white and brown with a funny banner like a chessboard on it. It also has the Heinz logo on it, just to prove its the real thing that is used as ingredients.
Of course, these crisps are no good for anybody on a diet, but we all need something nice now and again don't we?!
Walkers now claim that they are using 30% less fat in their crisps, so they are healthier!
TASTE AND SMELL
+++++++++++++++
I don't like tomato ketchup flavoured crisps, but I have always loved sausage and tomato. When you open the bag you get a lovely sausagey, tomatoey smell coming out. I think the smell alone is worth buying the crisps for.
The taste is really nice, they don't really taste of sausages but more a kind of meaty...

I'm A Tomato Ketchup Addict
Advantages: do taste like tomato ketchup
Disadvantages: no good if you don't like tomato ketchup
...When I bought a Walkers multipack which included 2 packs Heinz Tomato Ketchup, 2 packs Cheese & Branston Pickle and 2 packs Marmite flavoured crisps from Poundland my intention was to eat the Cheese & Branston Pickle crisps. That was until the rest of the family got hold of them and all that was left was the Heinz Tomato Ketchup flavour.
I must admit that I like Tomato Ketchup, especially on my chips so I thought I give them a go. The 25g packet has the usual ‘Walkers Crisps’ logo on it. It is red with a picture of crisps on it. Further down the front just like the label off a tomato sauce bottle there is a white background with a two-tone green border with black writing stating Heinz Tomato Ketchup flavour. Making it easy to see what flavour they are.
When I opened the crisps there was not a strong smell of tomatoes...

Heinz Tomato Ketchup - I can't eat without it!
Advantages: Tastes great. Goes with nearly everything! Good for you?
Disadvantages: You might not like it!
...For me, many meals would not be complete without a dollop of Heinz Tomato Ketchup on the side of my plate. I am one of those people that could eat nearly anything as long as it had been dunked in tomato ketchup!
Heinz have been producing tomato ketchup since 1876 and although normally I can not tell the difference between brand name products and supermarkets own brands with tomato ketchup I have developed a definite knack for it! Cheaper brands seem to taste quite vinegary whereas Heinz get the balance just right and produce a lovely tomato sauce that actually tastes like tomatoes...but sweeter! Heinz boast that 126g of tomatoes go into each 100g of ketchup to make the rich, tomato taste in the sauce. As the tomatoes are cooked they lose weight in water but keep their flavour.
Heinz tomato ketchup ingredients:
Tomatoes

Ketchup King
Advantages: Great taste to match a great price
Disadvantages: None
...More ketchup please MOM! is what I hear every teatime.
I was getting through a large bottle on a weekly basis and was paying a fortune for it.
On one of my usual shopping trips there were no large bottle of Heinz available only a bottle of Sainsbury's own brand so I decided that this would have to do.
I hid the bottle in the cupboard so my boys would not notice the different ketchup bottle and dolloped it onto their plates as usual at tea time. The boys just happily ate their teas and didn't even notice there was any difference.
I decided to try this one myself as I have tasted Morrison's own ketchup in the past and thought it was awful, it tasted to sweet.
There is a great taste to this brand and it is just the right consistancy. It is neither too sweet or sharp tasting. The ketchup smell in not overpowering either which can be...

Healthier Ketchup
Advantages: Lower in sugar and salt and yet still tasty
Disadvantages: None
...Having gone on a low salt diet to help lower my blood pressure and keep it down I was quite interested when I spotted that Heinz have introduced a reduced salt and sugar version of their Tomato Ketchup.
I do like Heinz Tomato Ketchup and tend not to buy any other brand and, although I use it sparingly, I thought it might be helpful to try out the reduced salt version as it would help me to have some seasoning on my food without loading it with salt.
I bought a bottle, took it home, and was quite keen to try it out, so I opened the squeezy bottle and squeezed some out on to a saucer to try it. On the other half of the saucer I squeezed out some of the traditional recipe and tasted them both to compare.
To be perfectly honest I did not notice and enormous difference. Both had the sharp tangy taste that I enjoy and although...

Heinz Tomato Ketchup Sauce
Advantages: tastes great
Disadvantages: bit expensive
...I bet for many of us Tomato Ketch up is a must-have on the table, whether you having fish and chips or simply to enjoy your food. But well as the saying goes ,"quality matters".Indeed it does, esp when I have to choose between the varieties of ketch up sauces available in the supermarket.Hein'z my favourite. It simply tastes great.
Personally I have tried different brands but at the end of the day I still find Heinz taste just better! They come in 57 different varieties and have simply revolutionised the way we enjoy our meals! The Heinz company has a very good reputation and established for over 100 years.
Satisfaction Guarantee.
