...The Tomb Raider chronicle Its that time again, the middle of November, TOMB RAIDER MONTH. This time of year we have come to expect a release of the Tomb Raider series, but are they actually improving on it? Tomb Raider 1was originally, and in all cases an excellent game, everyone owned a copy it came out on all consoles, then Tomb Raider 2 came out. This was a better game, different story, new moves and better graphics. Lara now becomes very well known for here assets Then it all went wrong As Eidos began to cash in more and more on lara Tomb Raider 3 came out, which ran the franchise very thin. The usual Lara, somehow jumping about the planet at differing locations, and not doing any Tomb Raiding in the whole game, as the title may suggest. ...First of all I hope you find this review and the opinions in it very very very helpful! Tomb Raider 4: The Last Revalation is an excellent game, just like all of the tomb raider series. This is promised to be the last Tomb Raider game, and Eidos have taken Lara out in style. The graphics are smooth and brilliant and the gameplay is even betterm with the other 3 Tomb Raider games it was either action or puzzles, but this 4th adventure combines both which is great. I would recommend you buy this game, its excellent- but only if you have patience as it really requires it.... Read review

Advantages: Good graphics
Disadvantages: A bit repeatitative

...Tomb Raider The Last Revelation is possibly the most difficult one out of the Tomb Raiders. The gameplay is as good as the other Tomb Raiders, if not, even better. The graphics and sound in this game are superb, just what you need in a game like this. The game does get a bit repeatitative at some points, but it is still a very good quality game. In the game you have to get through mazes, solve puzzles and get pass some traps, this makes the game more of a challange.... Read review

...I don't think that tomb raider 4 is any better than tomb raider 3 which it is surpost to be. It is basicly the same, if you have completed one tomb raider you have completed them all. One thing that is better about is that the graphics are much better also the sound is better too. The only fun bit in the game is riding the vircles and that was it. I think that the age group is for anyone 13+. The game would be better if there was more things to kill like animals or something and also if it was more of an challange to get guns and to kill animals or what ever.... Read review

Advantages: Good idea if you've never played Tomb Raider
Disadvantages: more of the same yet again!

...Ok, so Tomb Raider has spanned 4 games already and none have really differed that much except for the graphical enhancements each episode. Tomb Raider, when it was first released, was one of the most groundbreaking games of all time creating a whole new genre, however, most of us have had enough now. The latest version 'Tomb Raider Chronicles' is more of the same, and to Tomb Raider regulars this will really bore you. The graphics engine has not been improved at all, simply pushed to the limits and so is overshadowed by many other games on the Dreamcast. Still, if you've never played TR before then why not give it a try!... Read review

Advantages: The game has good graphics and the weapons are good (although limited).
Disadvantages: The sound is poor and tries to scare you when a baddy comes along. The level editor is too hard to get to grips with aswell.

...Tomb Raider chronicles is the fifth game in the series. The graphics and gameplay are similar to that in all the other games. At the end of tomb raider: the last revelation Lara is presumed dead, but you must be thinking, how can she be alive in tomb raider chronicles? The answer is that she is not alive, tomb raider chronicles is just stories of her life. The game starts when Lara is retrieving an artefact from Italy. She has two rivals (who were from the first tomb raider) Larson and Pierre. The game takes place in many different areas around the world to recover famous artefacts. In one of the levels Lara is only 16 years old and has NO weapons, this may be a disappointment to some people. ...I'm a Tomb Raider virgin. I've never played any Tomb Raiders before I tried Tomb Raider III for the Playstation. What was my verdict? Mixed. I was mightily impressed by the Graphics and the ingeniousness of the scenarios. Lara's house is a nice touch. All of the settings are well presented and Lara herself looks tremendous. However, I found that many of the levels were impossible to complete without the help of Cheats and Walkthrus which I discovered online. Sometimes I felt that TR III was less of a game and more like a addictive computerised punishment. This was worsened by the Save Game option (either only 1 game can be stored or I'm missed come instructions somewhere). I was also very disappointed by the (lack of) music. Advantages: Improved game overall
Disadvantages: Still Tomb Raider...getting bored yet?

...Tomb Raider - probably the most original game when it came out and still going strong. Tomb Raider was a pace setter - slow, not too difficult. Tomb Raider II took over the baton, improved the missions and graphics a little bit. Tomb Raider III was just far too difficult for first time players and needed loads of patience and practice to get some of those tricky jumps and moves. Tomb Raider IV takes all that is good about the whole series, creates a completely different storyline, based in the past as a prequel as is the trend at the moment, and creates an almost totally new engine for Lara. The playability has improved and extra features like the improved inventory where you can pair up items like a flashlight and gun or scope and rifle to get those tricky long range shots. ...It may of been the first in the series, but the original tomb raider is still by far the best! Ok, the picture may not be quite as sharp, and there may not be as many effects, but the story and the game play are second to none. From the training area at the start, the opening cut scene, lara ooooozzzzes sex appeal, not bad for a computer character. There are plenty of puzzells, doors to open and loads of nastys to kill. Forget the rest and play the best. The rest in the series are also good, with tomb raider 111 being the next best thing. Long live Lara Croft and all who play with her.... Read review

...This is the without a doubt, in my opinion, the best tomb raider so far. The graphics are very good ,improving on TRII and the movement of Lara has been much improved also. The game is very hard, if you haven't played any of the Tomb Raiders before I suggest you do to get a feel for the game before trying this. I dont know anyone who completed it without some help from the walkthrough. Because of this it's not as much fun as the 2 previous TombRaiders. The selection of weapons is good (even though it takes around 15 shots of the pistols to kill someone) but there are not enough enemies to use them on. For me it is a very good game, but people I have spoke to have very different opinions on it. If you're into the TR series then give it a go. If not then I would think twice before buying....
