The breast Tomb Raider to date
Review of Tomb Raider 2 (PSX) by  tom1clare

Advantages: Fantastic graphics, supreme scope and design, massive array of environments, huge challenge
Disadvantages: Increasingly becomes very tough, A.I. questionable at times, many prefer the first game

...Backtrack to 1997, and Core Design found themselves with bit of problem concerning their action/adventure sequel Tomb Raider 2. Usually, a sequel can improve upon its predecessor as in the intervening time lessons can be learnt; flaws can be ironed out, gameplay tweaked and expanded, and needless problems eradicated – it’s how things work in the game industry you see… But the original Tomb Raider didn’t have any problems. Well, nothing substantial enough to go into here anyway, but the prospect of improving such a clever, innovative and mammoth title must have caused many a headache in Core’s development house at that time. They also had one other major factor to deal with that wasn’t a problem before – the anticipation of the entire gaming-public weighing on their shoulders. Would TR2 live in the shadow of its older sibling, or could... Read review

Another Tomb Raider..............
Review of Tomb Raider Chronicles (PSX) by  jamespugh

Advantages: Lara
Disadvantages: Completly boring

...The Tomb Raider chronicle Its that time again, the middle of November, TOMB RAIDER MONTH. This time of year we have come to expect a release of the Tomb Raider series, but are they actually improving on it? Tomb Raider 1was originally, and in all cases an excellent game, everyone owned a copy it came out on all consoles, then Tomb Raider 2 came out. This was a better game, different story, new moves and better graphics. Lara now becomes very well known for here assets Then it all went wrong As Eidos began to cash in more and more on lara Tomb Raider 3 came out, which ran the franchise very thin. The usual Lara, somehow jumping about the planet at differing locations, and not doing any Tomb Raiding in the whole game, as the title may suggest. Oh no then Tomb Raider 4, it was now becoming very boring, just Tomb Raider 3... Read review

Tomb Raider Virgin
Review of Tomb Raider 3 (PSX) by  Mart

Advantages: Graphics and Playability
Disadvantages: Music

...I'm a Tomb Raider virgin. I've never played any Tomb Raiders before I tried Tomb Raider III for the Playstation. What was my verdict? Mixed. I was mightily impressed by the Graphics and the ingeniousness of the scenarios. Lara's house is a nice touch. All of the settings are well presented and Lara herself looks tremendous. However, I found that many of the levels were impossible to complete without the help of Cheats and Walkthrus which I discovered online. Sometimes I felt that TR III was less of a game and more like a addictive computerised punishment. This was worsened by the Save Game option (either only 1 game can be stored or I'm missed come instructions somewhere). I was also very disappointed by the (lack of) music. Surely a product of the calibre of Tomb Raider deserves to be more pleasing on the ears... Read review

Tomb Raider 4- Reviewed
Review of Tomb Raider 4 (PSX) by  Sazz316

Advantages:
Disadvantages:

...First of all I hope you find this review and the opinions in it very very very helpful! Tomb Raider 4: The Last Revalation is an excellent game, just like all of the tomb raider series. This is promised to be the last Tomb Raider game, and Eidos have taken Lara out in style. The graphics are smooth and brilliant and the gameplay is even betterm with the other 3 Tomb Raider games it was either action or puzzles, but this 4th adventure combines both which is great. I would recommend you buy this game, its excellent- but only if you have patience as it really requires it.... Read review

The last Tomb Raider - Hopefully
Review of Tomb Raider 4 (PSX) by  Timski

Advantages: Lara Croft
Disadvantages: Weak in places, impossible in others

...I have been a big fan of the Tomb Raider series of games. I loved the first one for it's originality, addiction and gameplay. The second one had me enthrawled too. I just could not resist the third one and became restless until it arrived though my letterbox. The thought of Lara on my screen again kept on giving me that Buz. However, I don't know whether it is because I have out-gamed myself on Tomb Raider or whether The Last Revelation is just not upto scratch but I feel quite dissapointed with the latest episode in the Tomb Raider series. I found it lacking to say the least. The story line seems weaker, the gameplay poorer and the tasks from one extreme to the other (too easy - almost impossible). I bought the walkthrough book at the same time as the game and even that is virtually impossible to figure out at times. However, I am... Read review

Lara - The Dagger Hunter And A Tomb Raider 2!
Review of Tomb Raider 2 (PSX) by  scream4bruce

Advantages: Solid platform environment, splendid lighting effects, a challenge
Disadvantages: Can be difficult going, fighting human enemies, a bit empty at times

...Tomb Raider II is one of several titles that I played over at a friend's house then bought for myself. I remember playing it for the first time, where the game begins with Lara, the game's (female) protagonist, sliding down some slopes into a cavern. I hadn't experienced any of these 3D adventure games then, so the controls were an obstacle for me to overcome. It was clear that I had to climb up and out of the initial area, and to do that, I had to get a grasp of the controls, which I eventually did and I felt satisfied. That was only just the beginning. The game sees Lara in a search for the Dagger of Xian, an artifact which grants the power of a dragon to those who plunge it into their heart. It is believed that this is held in the Great Wall of China, and Lara is just one of the three parties interested, each with their own reasons... Read review

Tomb Raider II (Mediocre Length Review)
Review of Tomb Raider 2 (PSX) by  JWarner88

Advantages: game makes great use of the engine they had at the time
Disadvantages: human enemies look rather primitive (like apes)

...Tomb Raider II is the first sequel to follow the original game and was released for the Playstation in 1997. Eidos Interactive published the game whilst it was developed by Core Design. The story is based on the mythical Dagger of Xian, whose legend is as follows: "The ancient Chinese believed that whoever had the mythical dagger in their possession would gain powers beyond belief, provided they had the courage to plunge the dagger deep into their heart." The opening cut-scene shows a Chinese Emperor send his men charging onto a battlefield. Several Tibetan monks are struck down by a cloud of arrows. The Emperor holds the mythical dagger, which he then pierces his heart with. The next shot shows a dragon marching through the throngs of men breathing fire on the enemy. When the dragon is shot in the neck with an arrow, it staggers... Read review

Tomb Raider at its best
Review of Tomb Raider 4 (PSX) by  zarniwoop

Advantages: Great gameplay, will keep u busy for a long time
Disadvantages: not for people who don't like to think a lot over games

...of pulling and pushing levers and traps have been twisted and changed to make something that feels new and orinigal. There's none of the mindless running around that made TRIII the worst game ever and the blood thirsty blasting of TRII that ruined its atmosphere. Every nook and cranny is filled with orinigal ideas. The puzzles are the most orinigal thing in the game with no other game having the same kind of fun but hard puzzles to solve. Even the baddies have to be killed in their own ways; the skeletons can't be killed so you have to push then off a cliff so their bones shatter. Tomb Raider IV: The Last Revelation has everything you could ever ask for : puzzles, pitfalls, devious enemies, dramatic locations, intreguing plot and a big chunk of action.... Read review

Great for Tomb Raider Newbies
Review of Tomb Raider Legend (PS2) by  tieka

Advantages: Great Graphics for PS2
Disadvantages: Too Short

...I have been a fan of Tomb Raider ever since Lara Croft made her first debut in 'Tomb Raider: Featuring Lara Croft', but that was 10 years ago. 6 games later, Lara returns in her new adventure: Tomb Raider: Legend. Tomb Raider: Legend takes a new approach on Tomb Raider, and was developed by Crystal Dynamics (Best known for the Legacy of Kain series.) This is quite a major difference as all other Tomb Raider games were developed by Core Design, which Eidos decided to ditch after their last unsucessful Tomb Raider game 'Angel of Darkness.' Unfortunately, I believe that Crystal Dynamics did not fully understand Tomb Raider, and the spark and beauty of the old games dissapeared within this game. I cannot fault Crystal Dynamics on their graphics, they are beautiful and really add atmopshere to the game. This is specifically shown... Read review

Lara Croft PSX Sexkitten or big screen Starlet
Review of Lara Croft - Tomb Raider (Special Collector's Edition) (Wide Screen) by  wallstreetwannabe

Advantages: Girl Power, am I too old to say that? But genuine Bond meets Indiana with a touch of magic
Disadvantages: wanted to press cross cause she never shot quick enough for my liking!

...Lara Croft as we all know is the heroine from the Tomb Raider Playstation Games. When my younger brother got a PSX a good few year ago now, he introduced me to the high leaping, gun toting, long haired beauty and taught me how to play. I became so addicted that, well, the very next day, I bought my very own PSX and Tomb Raider I & II. Then came The last Revelation and again, Switch Card at the ready I was there. When I met my Partner I introduced him to the lovely legs of Lara and he became a fellow addict, so you can imagine his glee when, emblazoned on the side of Hull Buses was a huge Angelina Jolie in full Lara Regalia (or lack of it) pouty lips and legs that could crack walnut?s between her thighs. Yet somehow, I was a little perturbed about Lara on the big screen. I was used to having her every move at my fingertips... Read review
