The 'advanced planning' also allows one to browse a map of the route before the journey begins and the image viewer and mp3 player can keep one entertained on the jourmeys. The passenger can also operate the device using the bluetooth remote. The traffic receiver, with lifetime subscription to traffic updates, is useful. An FM transmitter is also featured, which can be used to broadcast music to the car stereo. Maps of europe, USA and Canada are fantastic for going abroad. The fast processor means that if you deviate from the prefixed route, an alternative route is calculated straight away. ...The TOMTOM GO 920T is an essential for people who travel both short distances and long distances in the car. I paid £353 for this beauty. I'm usually very wary, on what Im purchasing if its in the hundreds range as I want a good quality product if im going to splash out. I feel very safe buying tomtom product however as it has a very good reputation efficient navigation devices. And the GO 920T is no exception. What I love about this perticular tomtom is the 4.3" widescreen which helps improve what you are seeing and also i dont struggle to type the destination i am wanting to go to. Its an excellent communicator It lets you have text-to-speech which means the tomtom can announce street names, as well as sms and traffic messages. I myself have had no problems with it. The volume is also linked to the car speed so that the volume is increased at higher speeds to improve audibility. ...I purchased this product just over a year ago, and have had no problems what-so-ever. The tomtom GO 500 has an easy touch-screen navagational display, in which you can enter an address, postcode and its GPS will direct you to the location whereever you may be. You can also set your home address in, and wherever you are, if you click home, it will find the fastest route home for you, and direct you there, not to mention telling you how far away you are, estimated time of arrival, and will also give you the option if you want the route to include toll roads or not. The tomtom GO 500 will naturate your directions outloud on its built in speaker. The TomTom Go 500 can also direct you to whats called a POI (Point Of Interest) which can things such as nearest petrol station, nearest hotel, resturant, nightclub, supermarket etc... Read review

...I use TomTom Navigator 6 with my mobile phone - MDA. I have also tested nearly all other software for navigation so i will try to compare. TomTom has the best menu navigation - it has only 5 items menu so it is possible to browse in menus when you are driving even if you have got a small display on your PDA. The menus are simple and it is very easy to adjust something very fast. Maps for TomTom are made not by countries as it is normally done by the others but by packs of countries so you dont need to switch maps so often. On the other hand if you choose igo2006 for example you can have all the maps at once and then no need to switch anything - there brings TomTom some difficulties when you are passing borders between two map sectors. One more thing that is not a plus for TomTom is the space required for maps. The other software has got... Read review

...I purchased this through the TOMTOM website and downloaded it to my TomTom GO520 T. It downloaded really quickly through our 8 meg connection and I had it installed on my device within a few minutes. We used it for a driving holiday to Hungary in Feb 2008 and it proved fantastic - we did not come accross any roads (including tiny farm trtacks) that were not listed. All the POI's we used were accurate (petrol stations, shops, shopping centres, tourist attractions) and generally we could not fault it. It is especially useful for planning a journey as with all the TomTom products you can preview the map and route. In Mid June 2008, I downloaded the new updates Eastern European map and am going to test this out during August on yet another Hungarian driving holiday. Well done TomTom.
