...The Navigator series of software allows your device (in this case an ipaq pda) to turn into a fully fledged GPS tracking system. Now, the spec: I am running Tomtom 3 on an Ipaq 36xx series with a dual CF slot jacket with a Pretec GPS card and and a 256MB CF card. This was the hardware I was using from navigator 2. I bought this a) portability - i can use it in the different cars I have b) updated maps - maps are only a year old(ish) c) cheap - cheaper than a in car dashboard version (esp the mercedes one at £1800!!) I had Tomtom nav. 2 on my ipaq and decided to upgrade to navigator 3. First thing to note is that it *will lose* your stored addresses/fav locations! so be warned! ...If you are looking for a Satellite Navigation system that is easy to use and reliable then this could be the system for you. I bought this product to use in conjunction with my 02 XDA exec mobile phone. The sd card (arrives as mini sd with an sd adaptor) installs the programme quickly and easily onto your device, all you need is enough free memory. After that, turn on your GPS reciever from the box, and your bluetooth and connect the devices. From here on you are up and running. You can store your home destination, and if you have added addresses to contacts in your phone, you can access them directly from TomTom. It can take a while to pinpoint your location from a cold start up, which can be frustrating if you are starting from an unknown location and are wanting to get on the go. ...I purchased TomTom Navigator along with my HP iPAQ 2210 about 10 months ago. I travel about 18000 miles a year and this product has been a great asset. It saves me having to make route notes and keep referring to road atlases. For town driving it is even better as road maps do not show all local roads. I initially purchased version 3.0 but have now upgraded to v3.03 (427). I use it with a wired GPS receiver which simply plugs into the cigarette lighter in the car. In most cases you run the application and then bring up the Navigator Menu. You can then choose where you want to go; a recent location, an address, a favourite location or even a Point of Interest (more on these later). ...When it arrived in the post, I couldnt believe just how small it was. It measures just 8cm x 4cm x 1.5cm, and drops easily into your pocket if you want to use it on foot. The setup instructions were simple to follow and got the software loaded onto my pc, and from there onto my ipaq within a few minutes. You have to charge it up for a few hours before you can go off playing with it, and so I took this opportunity to read the manual which is only on the cd, no hard copy. However, I have to say, the best way to learn how to use the navigator is by actually playing with it while you read. It all makes sense a lot quicker then. I soon got to grips with the basics, and powered the unit on in my office. I sat the little unit on the window ledge, and immediately it found 8 satelites up there in the cloudy sky, and pinpointed my position... Read review

..., well bar the little star telling me that feature available only on 910. It is a bit discriminating to ask me to buy the 910 (preloaded with USA & Canada as well as the EU maps) rather than the 510 the GB and MRE which are just fine. (For the record the 710 has Western EU maps but you pay £100 extra). I have a big enough card now. Let me play my mp3s, let me show this off to grandma and display the silly Xmas pictures. What makes it frustrating is that TomTom has put 1 mp3 and 1 wma song there just to rub it your face alles " You should have given us more money to play this"…GRRRRRRR Entering Destinations, Navigation It is such a breeze entering a new destination.
