...On buying my Tomtom one i was very excited and also a little disapointed with the size of the box, i purchased a TomTom one v4 europe with traffic updates. The set up was very simple no CD to mess about with and put in my "Man Draw" never to be seen again all the software for your pc is on the unit itself just plug the usb lead in and away you go. The new easy mount part is truly rubbish you click the unit into it and unless you get this right it will pop out, now bearing in ming you will be doing this on a windscreen of a car and if you have a car like mine a Ford Galaxy the windscreen is a mile away and proved fiddley to mount correctly also the USB leas from the charger just doesnt want to go in the hole so you have to take it off again and plug it in then try and snap the unit back into its mount fine on a nice cool day but not...

...at dirrections? In a word, Excellent! But I would temper that with one bad experience. It sent us to a ski hill via a road that is closed in winter! A bit of a let down, but the only bad experience in 2,300KM of driving over 10 days. So, a wholehearted recommendation. Its a great driving aid. I think it improves safety too, because there really is no need to be making sudden dirrection changes when you spot a sign at the last second! TomTom gives you clear and consise dirrections before and during route deviations. I love it!!...

... INTRO I do quite a lot of driving, and therefore owning a Sat Nav is an essential part of my life. I also find them helpful when out and about in places I'm visiting, so I can quickly locate a supermarket or a restaurant. After owning a fairly old TomTom for a few years, it was having some problems with charging, and instead of sending it away to get fixed etc, I decided to buy a new one altogether. I am quite loyal to TomTom's - I once bought a Binatone Sat Nav as a spare (it was cheap in a sale), which was absolutely useless and ended up being returned to the store for a refund - and find that the useless Binatone enables me to make comparisons with my new TomTom to other models. I purchased my TomTom ONE Classic from Argos for around the £130 mark, which is a good price. You can buy several Sat Nav's for a lot cheaper...

The RRP is a whopping £19.99, although it is good quality, I suspect it is not actually worth this, and you can buy cheaper on the t'internet. . You have several other cheaper alternatives, you could go for a non brand name, or you could support your local charity shop and buy an old camera case - I am perfectly serious, you would have more choice of styles and colours, and you girls could co-ordinate your outfit with a choice of "designer" named camera cases. OR you could buy one from Tomtom, using vouchers. These are given away free with Tomtoms, and can be used to purchase any accessory, including cases. ...I brought this as a gift for my mother last christmas as she doesn't often drive to far and, like me, is slightly geographically challenged Purchase and Price --------------------------- I brought the tom tom from Tesco, at the time I had a voucher for £50 off voucher which made it only £99 in price, very reasonable I feel for a sat nav. I did have quite a few problems with the ordering and collection of item, but thats a whole other Tesco review! The XL One comes in a pack with a small black pouch case, which is fastened by velcro, a mains charger, an in car charge (to be plugged into the lighter switch in the car) and the holder/stand that suctions the Sat Nav to the wind screen.
