The Real Tomtom ONE V3 GB Review
Review of TomTom ONE XL United Kingdom & Republic of Ireland by
NickUK
Advantages: Great features, Price
Disadvantages: None - Maybe battery life, restricted internal memory
...to get one and they were out of my price range but in August 2007 V2 got a price cut and V3 entered the market cheaper than ever at around £140/150, or now a bargain at £132.00 as shown above. It was a little steep for me but because the features all seemed so worthwhile I had to get it.
Tomtom have kept choosing simple with all the features on the ONE being the same as the ONE XL (just has a bigger screen) and also you can get one with Europe maps and one with GB. So there are four straight versions, easy (minus the expensive tomtoms higher up the range which have features most of us wont use). The other advantage of picking a tomtom is that they are market leaders and they seem to look after there customers, offering easily accessible software upgrades for the unit, decent support and map updates.
So which one to choose the new V3...

Tom Tom one V3 Europe with TMC receiver - Good VFM
Review of TomTom ONE V3 Europe by
P_S_Price
Advantages: Price, Free traffic updates, slimline, Tom Tom one home
Disadvantages: Accuracy of TMC (not tom toms fault), Map problems,
...I Recently replace my Garmin Street pilot unit with a TOM TOM V3 Europe (Traffic edition). I mainly did this because I wanted a low cost traffic solution, and I was able to get this from Halfords for under £170.00 (at the time of purchase) It came complete with the TMC receiver module.
Another reason for choosing Tom Tom was how disappointed I was with my Garmin, and how much better my Wife's Tom Tom one original was compared to it.
The unit is small and light, and the TMC receiver stays in my car fixed on with suction pads. It has a touch screen, and the menu icons are quite large. However I have thick fingers and I find that the touch pad keyboard screen used for Post codes/addresses is too small and I often get letters/numbers that I havent touched.
The display screen is smaller than compared to many other units, but I have...

TOMTOM or is it SCOTTSCOTT????
Review of TomTom ONE V3 Local by
tubster011
Advantages: Actually knows where its going!
Disadvantages: Not enough Memory space, and no expansion card slot
...).
And if any of you are wondering, YES it does fit in a volvo S60 cup holder, (bet your glad i mentioned that, you would have been thinking all day whether it would)
The Touch screen is superb, and the user interface works with it in a way no other Sat Nav could, we got fed up with the PDA with its tiny buttons and having to use a Stylus in order to put in a postcode.
TOMTOM boasts a full 6 digit post code search and puts you through the front door of the place your going, im not kidding. As soon as you enter the drive it politely announces that 'you have arrived at your destination' in its rather sexy woman voice, or for the ladies, whatever they please, american man, autrailian man, or even GERMAN MAN that shouts ACHTUNG LEFTZIG TURNUNG AHEADUNDSCHLAF!. (I made that up)
All in all, just think when you are browsing for one of these, it IS better...

Tom Tom ? - Ding Dong ! . .
Review of TomTom ONE V3 Local by
smudgeybabes
Advantages: Just Brilliant.
Disadvantages: Price, risk of theft, otherwise none.
...?" button, this is an obvious boon if you break down or have an accident.
You can charge this new version while at your comp, as the power lead is a USB. There is also a lead so you can connect to Tomtomhome, here you can "interact" with Tomtom's website, and download upgrades and extras.
I have had very few problems using this piece of kit, apart from the odd time when the road has been re-routed, and the software has not been updated, but on these new versions, you have the facility to report mistakes, road closures, one way streets etc.
I have avoided telling you how the device works, this has been well covered, and to be honest, it is so simple you just do it.
I nearly forget, the v3 comes with the speed cameras already installed. This allows you to decide on a warning tone to be sounded, and a display is given as to your speed...

TomTom Number ONE
Review of TomTom ONE Great Britain by
lizzie1963
Advantages: Easy to use, Lots of options
Disadvantages: None as yet
...I got the TOMTOM One from halfords for £179.99, although I am sure there would be a better deal on the net, I haven't been driving for long and hate not knowing how to get where I need to be. I picked a TOMTOM navigator because I had more about them and they were said to be one of the best and very reliable. I have only had it for a couple of weeks and it didn't take long to figure out how to use, its an absolute lifesaver for someone who has no sense of direction (like me!!). Definitely a great price from a well known satellite navigation system manufacturer.
* SOME USEFUL INFO *
The size of the system is 96mm x 82mm x 25mm.
It weighs around 174 grams.

YES, I WANT THAT ONE...... Slimline V3
Review of Motorola V3 by
matthewitt
Advantages: Slimline, Lightweight, Great Camera, Great Display
Disadvantages: No Video, Little Storage, Markings
...Introduction
The Motorola V3 launched on the mobile market late last year, the revolutionary thing was that it was slimmer than any other phone previous. It was very stilish and modern and would soon cause a tir and become a fashion icon. With the new thin keys instead of conventional it become something that stood out and became probably the most popular phone on the market.
Syling
The V3 is very different from any other phone is the styling with it only being a mere 2cms wide it is one of the thinnest phones on the market. There are two versions the black and silver, the black is more popular with a great design clash. The new touchpad keys make the operation easy an this also complements the deisng of the phone. The look of the phone with the thin design makes it desirable and attractive with modern and fresh styling...

Six month ownership review - Sony V3 7.2mp Camera
Review of Sony Cyber-shot DSC-V3 by
alexpeck
Advantages: Excellent image quality and ease of use
Disadvantages: Size and weight
...The Sony V3 is one of the lastest in Sony's line-up of "pro-sumer" devices - a cross between features usually found on professional models and those expected by consumers.
Designed to replace the ageing V1, the V3 boosts several new features including the legendary Nightshot system. In reality I found this rather disappointing as after framing the picture in the pitch black (you can see everything in green on the 2.5" preview screen though), it lets off a mighty big flash! I was hoping for a capture of the original green image, but no =o(
Taking about the flash, it's hidden under a panel on top of the camera! When you are about to take a flash picture, it pops up and you must push it back down again to stow it when you switch off the camera. Other than that, the V3 is so simple to use - the mode wheel at the top is the same as for all...

TomTom One… It will change your life
Review of TomTom ONE Great Britain by
supreah
Advantages: Excellent navigation and GPS reception, portable, good value for money
Disadvantages: Poorly located charging indicator LED
...One to connect to a PC could be more user-friendly. It is definitely not up to the mark.
I have had to reset it sometimes when starting it up, but this is not a major issue.
I have heard people say that the TomTom One's loudspeaker is not as good as its predecessors'. I myself have had no problems with it. The volume is also linked to the car speed so that the volume is increased at higher speeds to improve audibility.

Motorola V3 Black
Review of Motorola v3 Black by
craggybuk
Advantages: Slimline, Light, Ease of use
Disadvantages: Battery life, camera, memory
...not so good. However, if you are like me, you'll want to load your own tracks onto the phone and use them as your ringtones. The software which comes with the phone is very easy to use and, after installation and connicting via the supplied USB cable, you'll be listening to your own tracks within minutes though, with the 5Mb memory limit, you'll be struggling to fit more than one full song onto the phone.
The memory, in fact, is probably the biggest problem with the phone. If you want to store numerous photos and mp3 files on the phone then you are likely to be struggling. Unfortunately, this model does not allow you to upgrade the memory.
The bluetooth functions as you would expect and has been compatible with every device I have tried to pair it to in the past. (Sony Ericsson and Nokia phones plus the TomTom SatNav unit)

Way to GO TomTom but...
Review of TomTom GO 510 by
Nick_Endeavour
Advantages: Screen Size, TMC, Bluetooth Hands free for Phone, Accessories
Disadvantages: Price, Extras at Price, Only GB and MRE, SD Card too Small, No Mp3 player facility
..., well bar the little star telling me that feature available only on 910. It is a bit discriminating to ask me to buy the 910 (preloaded with USA & Canada as well as the EU maps) rather than the 510 the GB and MRE which are just fine. (For the record the 710 has Western EU maps but you pay £100 extra). I have a big enough card now. Let me play my mp3s, let me show this off to grandma and display the silly Xmas pictures. What makes it frustrating is that TomTom has put 1 mp3 and 1 wma song there just to rub it your face alles " You should have given us more money to play this"…GRRRRRRR
Entering Destinations, Navigation
It is such a breeze entering a new destination. Just simply enter postcode or address which is quite simple and foolproof. It also recognizes full postcodes (well not on the map but as an add-on which is preinstalled...
