...This little toy was possible the biggest revolution to happen to my driving in all the years since I passed my test. I had seen a friend use it and knew I was going to be happy with it. The unit comes supplied with a software package to connect to your pc for updates via the internet, and a usb cable to connect and recharge the unit, and a cigarette lighter so you never run out of power on the move. Once connected to your pc, the unit is fully operational via your computer screen providing you can get a signal indoors, rather than through the tomtom's touch screen until you disconnect it. To be honest, it was that easy to use the first time I turned it on, I couldn't even tell you if it came with a manual or not! The unit is simple, neat and effective. ...So there I was with a trip to Leicester from North Wales, so I visited a website to get a route map, OH NO! How confusing, so I bought myself the new TomTom One Local from my local Currys for only £199.98. After getting the TomTom home and unpacking it I couldn't believe how compact the new model was compared to the older models that I had used in the past the new TomTom One is about 2.8cms deep, 9.5cms wide and 8cms high. In the box you get the SD card with the UK map on it as well as a CD with TomTom Home, which I will mention Later, the in-car charger, cable for plugging the TomTom into your PC, windscreen mount, registration card and the manual that you need to get the TomTom running. ...be bought for little money now, so I can only describe the price as a bargain. I have never needed to send my Tomtom away for repair, but by all accounts the after asles service is pretty good. Mine has been used in wagons and taken some abuse, they are built to last. Go & get one, you will not regret it.. .... It is basically like having a brilliant navigator sitting next to you! The TomTom I got costs around £180 and only has the UK and Ireland maps so if you were to want to use it abroad then you would need to either buy a different model or buy the maps from the shop although I'm not sure how much it would cost. It does obviously have other features which I will come onto a bit later on. Inside the box is the TomTom, a car charger, installation CD, manual, cradle and window mount to stick it onto your car window. To get it up and running is very simple; plug in the charger to your cigarette lighter and the other end into the TomTom, clip the TomTom into the mount, and stick the mount onto the window using the sucker that is attached. Apparently older TomTom models used to be a bit of a pain to get the TomTom onto the mount but on the one I got all you... Read review

I picked a TOMTOM navigator because I had more about them and they were said to be one of the best and very reliable.
