TomTom ONE V2 Europe
Review of TomTom ONE V2 Europe Navteq by
runetune
Advantages: Easy to use, excellent screen layout, no lag.
Disadvantages: Some options not included, think carefully about which version to use.
...should be heading for.
It has software that is easy to use and allows you to connect to your home computer and update readily.
You do need to use the in car charger if going any distance, but its easy enough to use.
The sucker is very quick to put in place, and also take down again.
I like that you can have places of special interest, like petrol stations showing. Especially useful when going to an area that is remote (like parts of Wales and Scotland) so you have an idea of where a station is.
I have two memory cards, simply to ensure I always have a back up since all information is on the one card.
Route options are good, with more than just the quickest option available. Great if on holiday and you want to go off the beaten track a little bit.
I've tried a couple of other Stat Nav in car systems, and the TomTom is my...

Tomtom one V2 Europe
Review of TomTom ONE V2 Europe Navteq by
ace198
Advantages: Full street level maps of europe
Disadvantages: None so far!
...Easily the best Low price GPS on the market.
It's small, lightweight, easy to use and doubles up as a bluetooth hands free.
Aswell as having customisable voices, an updated speed camera database, thousands of POS's (Points of intrests) it can even avoid traffic jams iether through the Tomtom plus services which work through a bluetooth connection to your bluetooth enabled mobile phone or through a traffic ariel attachment.
It's quick and easy to remove from your car and small enough and light enough to carry in your pocket.
You can even easily move it between cars using an extra mount saving you from having to unplug everything and re attach the suction cup.
You don't have to worry about the device loosing suction and falling to the floor of your car when you go over a bump because the suction cup is tough enough to support...

Tomtom One V2 UK & ROI
Review of TomTom ONE V2 Europe Navteq by
es-vedra
Advantages: Size, ease-of-use, battery life, clarity of screen and speech
Disadvantages: awkward software for pc, no wall charger
...This little toy was possible the biggest revolution to happen to my driving in all the years since I passed my test. I had seen a friend use it and knew I was going to be happy with it.
The unit comes supplied with a software package to connect to your pc for updates via the internet, and a usb cable to connect and recharge the unit, and a cigarette lighter so you never run out of power on the move. Once connected to your pc, the unit is fully operational via your computer screen providing you can get a signal indoors, rather than through the tomtom's touch screen until you disconnect it. To be honest, it was that easy to use the first time I turned it on, I couldn't even tell you if it came with a manual or not!
The unit is simple, neat and effective. Finding your destination is pretty easy and can be done a number of ways...

The Real Tomtom ONE V3 GB Review
Review of TomTom ONE XL United Kingdom & Republic of Ireland by
NickUK
Advantages: Great features, Price
Disadvantages: None - Maybe battery life, restricted internal memory
...to get one and they were out of my price range but in August 2007 V2 got a price cut and V3 entered the market cheaper than ever at around £140/150, or now a bargain at £132.00 as shown above. It was a little steep for me but because the features all seemed so worthwhile I had to get it.
Tomtom have kept choosing simple with all the features on the ONE being the same as the ONE XL (just has a bigger screen) and also you can get one with Europe maps and one with GB. So there are four straight versions, easy (minus the expensive tomtoms higher up the range which have features most of us wont use). The other advantage of picking a tomtom is that they are market leaders and they seem to look after there customers, offering easily accessible software upgrades for the unit, decent support and map updates.
So which one to choose the new V3...

TomTom is Number ONE
Review of TomTom ONE V2 Regional Great Britain by
1st2thebar
Advantages: reliability easy to use
Disadvantages: large software files
...**TomTom ONE V2 Regional** >>>AWARD WINNER<<<
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
By being a gadgetty sort of person, I have been lured into the world of GPS well since the end of last year. The fact that this GPS system can save you time really appealed especially when good time management can make you lifestyle less stressful. It is very true that by having an effective GPS system in your car does all of above.
The TomTom ONE V2 Regional (UK) has been awarded in coolest brands log 2006-2007. Not a big surprise as the Christmas retail price was very well received at £199.99. Along with affordable pricing structure and a excellent selling product, this version is the most sought after Sat Nav system that is appealling and is efficient and graphically delightful. Personally, I will agree...

TOM TOM Number ONE!
Review of TomTom ONE V2 Europe Navteq by
adamalewis2002
Advantages: Simple layout onscreen, idiot proof,
Disadvantages: optional extras not included i.e safety cameras, traffic alerts.
...So there I was Christmas Day dreading another year of unwanted socks and underwear. Why people still feel the need to buy more even when last years haven't been used yet is beyond me.
I sat down to open my presents and was very surprised to be presented with a TomTom One Sat Nav.
Great, something exciting and interesting I can actually use after Christmas Day. So after opening the box and throwing the manual back into the box I switched it on. Catching little greeting at the beginning I got a good feeling about this present!
On first set-up you need to enter a few details to get you started such as your address and name etc nothing too challenging and very quick. After that I was ready to go.
I decided to explore the menu and see what I was dealing with before I let myself loose on the roads. I was pleasantly surprised how simple...

Tom Tom 1, Western Europe, updated
Review of TomTom ONE V2 Europe Navteq by
paulhanton
Advantages: Really easy to set up, very transportable, easy to use
Disadvantages: Shortish battery life, takes a bit of getting the hang of getting to the right menu's
...the car, and can be used when walking around a town, though it is a little conspicuous, and the battery life seems to be quite short, though, like any piece of electrical kit, the more one uses it in battery mode, the shorter the battery life.
So far, everywhere we have set in as a route has worked out fine, can't wait for rural France.
Okay, postscript. We live in Yorkshire, so went deliberately away from main routes, onto small country lanes, typed in the navigate function to 'home', no problem, straight there, via some lanes we didn't even know.
Undoubtedley, the best function is the 'navigate home' function, doe not matter where you are, it's just like a homing pidgeon, and even tells you where the next petrol station is, fantastic.
So, I've had the TOMTom for a while now and have to say I am very, very impressed. I have...

Tom Tom One is Inexpensive Sattelite navigator
Review of TomTom ONE V2 Regional Great Britain by
ma_siddiqui
Advantages: Touch screen, Easy to use/install
Disadvantages: Has some bugs in map and direction, Low battery life
...to use and install: You can take it out of your car and put it into any other car in a matter of minutes. One just needs to plug in the car charger into the lighter socket and connect the cord to the sat nav. It's that simple to install. Using it is as simple and has a touch screen and one just needs to select or give the postcode or the street number. It also as a memory where you can feed the addresses or post code. You can also select the last 10 destinations.
2. Cost: As mentioned above. It was the cheapest and most cost effective Sat nav with touch screen.
3. Portable: It can be used in any way. One can use it in any car or can also carry it while walking.
4. Usage: It can be used anywhere in UK as well as in Europe or US (but one has to buy a extra SD ram Card which contains the maps of different countries). It comes preloaded with UK...

TomTom Western Europe, let Jane take the strain.
Review of TomTom Map of Western Europe Maps by
paulhanton
Advantages: Stress free travelling, comprehensive, clear instructions, cheap
Disadvantages: Some very minor glitches in confusing bends with turns
...I recently reviewed the TomTom one, which we bought with the Western Europe maps, and I have been waiting to put Jane (our name, after the voice) through her paces in rural France.
As with all TomTom maps, easy to see, easy to use, easy to understand, and easy to update.
Absolutely fantastic, I have no idea how we ever coped without her/it. From getting off the ferry, the map/navigation was spot on, good clear instructions, in plenty of time, and the first time I have ever got through Paris without a hitch.
To give you an idea of how good, we bought a local map of where we were going on the Limousin/Perigord borders, that did not have the town we were staying in (I call it a town loosely) as it was so small, no problem for TomTom, straight there, which was welcome after 7 hours of driving.
We spent two weeks in the area...

I bought this Tom Tom as every time I have to go somewhere that I'm not familiar with I get lost!
It cost me £299, which is a lot of money, but as it has the speed camera's on it, it helps me keep a clean licence, so to me its well worth the money. You can get them cheaper if you don't want the camera's on it, but as this was a treat to me I...
