...The Tom Tom ONE XL Europe is one of the easiest car navigation devices to use. It is mostly self explainatry but if you are unsure how to use it, the manual is very specific and very easy to understand. In my opinion the actual software that is installed on it is excellent. When driving, it is easy to follow all of the instruction that are being said by the automated voice. The one concern with this product is the very short battery life and sometimes, when it has been previously been connected to the computer to install updates, the system gets stuck and freezes. It has to be reset for it to function properly again and then it takes up to ten minutes!! There are many options that you can choose when planning your route so you drive the route that is most suitable for you. Other than the one disadvantage, it is a very good car navigation...

Versatile Road Cat - Tomtom XL Europe.

Advantages: fast, upgradeable, reliable, robust, costumisable, portable and much more
Disadvantages: confuses speeds at times, battery power loss while switched off

...knowing what I know now, after all it as accurate more than 95% of the time and when it is not it does get me close enough to figure location out, auto corrects if I make a trajectory error and is quite fast at doing this, very versatile and always up to date with all the updates, shame that some things that should be relatively cheap TomTom wants to charge a fortune...anyway that another subject not the devices fault lol. hope this helps you guys make your mind up ...BUY IT you won't regret it ...but be aware is not perfect ...most things are not perfect anyway....just put John Clees voice and you'll be happy PLEASE if you took the time to read, spend one ,more second and rate it....

Tom Tom one V3 Europe with TMC receiver - Good VFM

...I Recently replace my Garmin Street pilot unit with a TOM TOM V3 Europe (Traffic edition). I mainly did this because I wanted a low cost traffic solution, and I was able to get this from Halfords for under £170.00 (at the time of purchase) It came complete with the TMC receiver module. Another reason for choosing Tom Tom was how disappointed I was with my Garmin, and how much better my Wife's Tom Tom one original was compared to it. The unit is small and light, and the TMC receiver stays in my car fixed on with suction pads. It has a touch screen, and the menu icons are quite large. However I have thick fingers and I find that the touch pad keyboard screen used for Post codes/addresses is too small and I often get letters/numbers that I havent touched. ...I am hopeless when I am driving and I do tend to get very lost. I looked around for all the products on the market because I did have a strict budget. This fell into my price range of £50-£100 and so I thought I would go for this one. It seemed the easiest to use and also being fairly hopeless with technology I decided that this was the best product to go for. When it arrived it was really easy to set up. There are step by step instructions for you to follow from the moment you turn it on and if you follow them all it only takes 10 minutes to set up and then you are ready to go. On top of that it is easy to charge as it comes with an in-car chager and a USB cable that you attach to your PC and it charges from there. To get up to full battery you need to charge it for only 2 hours. The touch screen makes it easy to use...

...On buying my Tomtom one i was very excited and also a little disapointed with the size of the box, i purchased a TomTom one v4 europe with traffic updates. The set up was very simple no CD to mess about with and put in my "Man Draw" never to be seen again all the software for your pc is on the unit itself just plug the usb lead in and away you go. The new easy mount part is truly rubbish you click the unit into it and unless you get this right it will pop out, now bearing in ming you will be doing this on a windscreen of a car and if you have a car like mine a Ford Galaxy the windscreen is a mile away and proved fiddley to mount correctly also the USB leas from the charger just doesnt want to go in the hole so you have to take it off again and plug it in then try and snap the unit back into its mount fine on a nice cool day but not...

The only ONE you'll need!

...- I've seen some around £50 - but I do believe you get what you pay for, and as I only wanted a Sat Nav with UK maps on it (TomTom ONE Classic comes with Republic of Ireland maps too), it was a great price. You can get Sat Nav's with Europe maps too, but as my parents have one of these, I'd be able to borrow their Sat Nav when I drive abroad! IN THE BOX, AND THE TOMTOM'S APPEARANCE Included in the box were: * The Sat Nav * Car Charger * Instructions * USB Charger The best thing about the TomTom ONE Classic is the fact you can connect it up to your laptop/PC to charge it. Before, I could only charge my old Sat Nav via my car's cigarette lighter, but thanks to the USB cable, you can now charge it via your PC. To be honest though, I've only ever done this once! The Real Tomtom ONE V3 GB Review

Advantages: Great features, Price
Disadvantages: None - Maybe battery life, restricted internal memory

...get one and they were out of my price range but in August 2007 V2 got a price cut and V3 entered the market cheaper than ever at around £140/150, or now a bargain at £132.00 as shown above. It was a little steep for me but because the features all seemed so worthwhile I had to get it. Tomtom have kept choosing simple with all the features on the ONE being the same as the ONE XL (just has a bigger screen) and also you can get one with Europe maps and one with GB. So there are four straight versions, easy (minus the expensive tomtoms higher up the range which have features most of us wont use). The other advantage of picking a tomtom is that they are market leaders and they seem to look after there customers, offering easily accessible software upgrades for the unit, decent support and map updates. So which one to choose the new V3...

...at dirrections? In a word, Excellent! But I would temper that with one bad experience. It sent us to a ski hill via a road that is closed in winter! A bit of a let down, but the only bad experience in 2,300KM of driving over 10 days. So, a wholehearted recommendation. Its a great driving aid. I think it improves safety too, because there really is no need to be making sudden dirrection changes when you spot a sign at the last second! TomTom gives you clear and consise dirrections before and during route deviations. I love it!!...

TOMTOM boasts a full 6 digit post code search and puts you through the front door of the place your going, im not kidding. As soon as you enter the drive it politely announces that 'you have arrived at your destination' in its rather sexy woman voice, or for the ladies, whatever they please, american man, autrailian man, or even GERMAN MAN that shouts ACHTUNG LEFTZIG TURNUNG AHEADUNDSCHLAF!.
