...I love our Tomtom! Its been excellent value for money, and very easy to use. My first impression of the unit itself is a nice size, lightweight enough to pop into your pocket and take with you as well as good easy screen to read from. From the moment I switched it on, I liked the whole layout and menu. Icons were easy to read and understand and I even managed to work out what to do to get from the house to my first location without the instruction manual. The voice isn't distracting or unpleasant, and the instructions given are clear, both verbally and from the screen. It has an excellent refresh rate, so that if you do take the wrong turn, or get diverted for any reason it very quickly picks up what you need to do to maintain the correct course! Aswell as having customisable voices, an updated speed camera database, thousands of POS's (Points of intrests) it can even avoid traffic jams iether through the Tomtom plus services which work through a bluetooth connection to your bluetooth enabled mobile phone or through a traffic ariel attachment. It's quick and easy to remove from your car and small enough and light enough to carry in your pocket. ...This little toy was possible the biggest revolution to happen to my driving in all the years since I passed my test. I had seen a friend use it and knew I was going to be happy with it. The unit comes supplied with a software package to connect to your pc for updates via the internet, and a usb cable to connect and recharge the unit, and a cigarette lighter so you never run out of power on the move. Once connected to your pc, the unit is fully operational via your computer screen providing you can get a signal indoors, rather than through the tomtom's touch screen until you disconnect it. To be honest, it was that easy to use the first time I turned it on, I couldn't even tell you if it came with a manual or not! The unit is simple, neat and effective. ...would be travelling 8 MPH faster. The big plus is the speed camera warnings. This can save you your license and of course points on the license. At last there is a device that is on your side while on the road, a real friend. I only wish it was available 10 years ago. TomTom sat nav system requires regular upgrades from online. The downloadable file is not too big if you have broadband, though can take 20 minutes or so for a dial up connection. The software is very easy to use and is worth having the £20.00 add on fee for all the speed camera alerts as the traffic police always change the locations of cameras every 2-3 months. This is hardly dealing with road safety is it! You don't get road builders swapping roads around making accident blackspots different every 2-3 months do you.....This is why the updates for the software... Read review

...We got this amazing peice of equipment last year before we set off for our holiday in France. ***My Story*** Unlike every single trip to France for the past 6 years, this one was care free and relaxed! No more fights between the parents about directions or asking how long it was until we got there from the kids (as it could be seen from the back seat and says in days, hours, minutes and seconds how long until you reach your destination)! After driving through the whole of Scotland, England and onto the ferry, we parked for 5 mins and changed the memory card to France... that simple and then we were back on the road. Once we were there the TomTom still got so much use: for day trips, directions to the beach or supermarket or even to remember your way back to your hotel/campsite after a day out. ...With some trepidation as Ive dealt with TomTom in the early days I ordered up the Go 720T. Ive read a few negatives but Ive used the tomtom software for some years on my PDA (after they got it right) and so am familiar with it The 720T arrived free overnight by 1pm from "The Link" for £256 and I set it up on my PC. It linked without problems via the Tomtom Home V2.1 The only item was the map update, it said I had the latest map 7.05 when in fact the website had 7.10 map. Ive emailed Tomtom so hope they will provide me with a link under their latest map guarantee. The unit has worked well and Im pleased I made the purchase. The Traffic addition linked up but as yet I havent completed any long journeys to see if it kicks in. Advantages: Looks good, comes with a good deal from BT [broadband option 3].
Disadvantages: Poor wireless signal, not compatible with printers.

...The BT Home-Hub v2.0 may look chic and stylish in comparison to previous models, but personally I have not noticed any beneficial differences between the v2.0 and the v1.0. Despite numerous claims that the wireless signal is 'twice as strong as other wireless providers', I have no reason whatsoever to endorse this. In my medium sized flat, I only receive good, stable signal in the rooms adjacent to the Hub, and in other rooms the signal repeatedly disappears completely. One of the Hub's main selling points is the many various connections which it boasts, including 4 ethernet connections and a USB socket. All previous versions of the home-hub have had the capability to connect a printer to the hub and therefore print documents wirelessly from anywhere in your home or garden.
