...knowing what I know now, after all it as accurate more than 95% of the time and when it is not it does get me close enough to figure location out, auto corrects if I make a trajectory error and is quite fast at doing this, very versatile and always up to date with all the updates, shame that some things that should be relatively cheap TomTom wants to charge a fortune...anyway that another subject not the devices fault lol. hope this helps you guys make your mind up ...BUY IT you won't regret it ...but be aware is not perfect ...most things are not perfect anyway....just put John Clees voice and you'll be happy PLEASE if you took the time to read, spend one ,more second and rate it....

...This little toy was possible the biggest revolution to happen to my driving in all the years since I passed my test. I had seen a friend use it and knew I was going to be happy with it. The unit comes supplied with a software package to connect to your pc for updates via the internet, and a usb cable to connect and recharge the unit, and a cigarette lighter so you never run out of power on the move. Once connected to your pc, the unit is fully operational via your computer screen providing you can get a signal indoors, rather than through the tomtom's touch screen until you disconnect it. My first impression of the unit itself is a nice size, lightweight enough to pop into your pocket and take with you as well as good easy screen to read from. ...at dirrections? In a word, Excellent! But I would temper that with one bad experience. It sent us to a ski hill via a road that is closed in winter! A bit of a let down, but the only bad experience in 2,300KM of driving over 10 days. So, a wholehearted recommendation. Its a great driving aid. I think it improves safety too, because there really is no need to be making sudden dirrection changes when you spot a sign at the last second! TomTom gives you clear and consise dirrections before and during route deviations. I love it!!...

Brilliant device TomTom ONE XL

...! Other features: There are lots more features to the TomTom One XL but I'm yet to experiment with them all. I just use it for the basics, getting from A to B. But I'm sure these other features will prove very useful to others. Overall: For technology whizzs and gadget nerds, this review probably hasn't covered enough of the elements for you. But for drivers hoping to purchase one of these or use for the first time I hope I've covered enough of the basics and given you a little insight into the wondrous world of the TomTom One XL. There may well be better models out there, but this one does a fine job and I will continue to use it....

...I brought this as a gift for my mother last christmas as she doesn't often drive to far and, like me, is slightly geographically challenged Purchase and Price --------------------------- I brought the tom tom from Tesco, at the time I had a voucher for £50 off voucher which made it only £99 in price, very reasonable I feel for a sat nav. I did have quite a few problems with the ordering and collection of item, but thats a whole other Tesco review! The XL One comes in a pack with a small black pouch case, which is fastened by velcro, a mains charger, an in car charge (to be plugged into the lighter switch in the car) and the holder/stand that suctions the Sat Nav to the wind screen. ...The Tom Tom ONE XL Europe is one of the easiest car navigation devices to use. It is mostly self explainatry but if you are unsure how to use it, the manual is very specific and very easy to understand. In my opinion the actual software that is installed on it is excellent. When driving, it is easy to follow all of the instruction that are being said by the automated voice. The one concern with this product is the very short battery life and sometimes, when it has been previously been connected to the computer to install updates, the system gets stuck and freezes. It has to be reset for it to function properly again and then it takes up to ten minutes!! There are many options that you can choose when planning your route so you drive the route that is most suitable for you. Other than the one disadvantage, it is a very good car navigation...
