Tomy keeping a watch on baby
Review of Tomy Walkabout Digital Premier by
Proffles
Advantages: Fulfils all your needs
Disadvantages: AA batteries required in the baby unit
...airwaves are used for all baby monitors so be aware that you may be overheard.
5. My only complaint of the entire system is that the baby unit requires AA batteries, the parent unit has built in rechargeable batteries and as such is great. In reality you do tend to move baby around in the Moses basket and so on, so the baby unit travels with it. Sometimes near a plug socket so the AA batteries are not needed but sometimes you have to use them. The drawback then becomes that the nightlight does not work when you have the baby unit disconnected from the mains. Tomy should rethink this one.
The parent unit in brief has the following functions:
1. Temperature LCD display
2. Light display on/off
3. Moving light/audible transmission
4. Portable unit
5. Volume control
In detail
1. As discussed above the parent unit displays...

Tomy freestyle baby carrier with 2 positions.
Review of Tomy Freestyle baby carrier by
snaketracer
Advantages: You can carry your baby facing you or facing outwards in total comfort.
Disadvantages: None that I can think of.
...I bought one of these for my first baby, it was a god send, you can carry your baby in 2 positions - facing you or facing outwards.
I found facing them towards you when they are small is better as they cant see much from birth anyway. As they get older they can see better so changing the position means they can see where they are going.
I also used it with my second baby which helped me a lot as I didn't have to push around a double buggy, I had the baby in the carrier and my other daughter in a single pushchair, great for looking around shops.
The material inside is like a fleece, it is so soft and snug, it still feels like this now after lots of washes. (machine washable).
It also has a storage pocket and a dummy holder which is great for when your baby spits out the dummy!
It can fold out flat so you can put your baby...

Monitor Your Baby
Review of Tomy Walkabout Baby Advance Monitor by
newby2
Advantages: peace of mind
Disadvantages: none
...Baby Walkabout Advance from Tomy
Living in a flat I felt I did not really need the most high tech and expensive of monitors and just needed one that really did the job. I was looking at all the ones available to buy on Amazon and this one sprang out at me.
It was not the cheapest monitor going but it certainly was not the most expensive either. Monitors range from about £15 up to an astonishing £100 plus. The latest ones out on the market offer a television screen where you are actually able to see your baby as well as hear their sounds and monitor room temperature. I feel however the television screen is a little bit much and think I would find myself glued to the screen while all the time away from the baby.
This particular baby monitor set me back only £29. I think this is a fair price for what you are getting...

Comfy hands free baby transport!
Review of Tomy Safari Baby Sling by
Nikki38
Advantages: Well padded straps
Disadvantages: I didn't buy one for my first baby!
...I was given the Tomy Safari baby sling as a present for my second baby and it is great to use when out and about as it keeps your hands free for shopping or holding onto a toddler!
It cost £30 from Mothercare (they also sell them in Babies R Us and most other nursery shops).
It is predominately black but has a leopard "safari" print inside where the baby sits (so Dad's should not be embarrassed to wear it either!)
It is suitable for babies from 0 - 12 months or up to 21lbs, which means it should last longer than some other baby slings. It offers good support for a newborn and has fleecy padded leg holes.
The baby can either face outwards or towards you and there are sufficient fastenings to adjust according to the baby's size.
If your baby falls asleep whilst in it, you can remove it from yourself and just lie him down...

Tomy Happy Shape = Happy Kids
Review of Tomy Happy Shape by
star333
Advantages: Great shape sorter & design.
Disadvantages: None.
...for a great first shape sorter, look no further.
One end of the Happy Shapes yellow pipe has a teal green cap. This cap has the 3 shape cutouts for circle, triangle and square. Unlike the Fisher Price Baby's First blocks which removes too easily, this lid fits snuggly on the end of the pipe. Should you want to dump the shapes out, the lid can be removed. However, it doesn't remove so easily that all the shapes spill out (in the toybox) for example.
Tomy Happy Shapes contains 12 plastic shapes in total: 4 blue squares, 4 pink triangles, and 4 white balls. One of the balls has a sweet little happy face on it. The shapes themselves are 3-D and perfect sized for little hands to grab. In addition to sorting the shapes, my son loves to play with the shapes, bang them against each other, examine them and more. There is something very appealing...

is the baby crying?
Review of Tomy Baby Link by
sportyminx
Advantages: simple to use - no batteries!
Disadvantages: is not mobile
...I bought this monitor system from Tesco about 6months ago and it cost approx £15 which i felt was quite cheap for a brand new monitor (and a recognised name - Tomy - at that!)
This system basically comprises of two parts - baby has the microphone - mummy and daddy have the speaker! Both are built into a plug, and therefore do not need batteries, and there are no leads/wires! However due to this, in the plug is the only way you can use them, so they cannot be carried from room to room!
They have a variable volume dial on the parents unit and i have never had any problems hearing when my baby is awake (even if he is only murmuring away quietly to himself!
The only problem i have come across with this product is that when you are using some other electrical appliance (only certain ones e.g. a radio or the vacuum cleaner) you get...

Tomy happy, so am I!
Review of Tomy Happy Shape by
funkyjo
Advantages: Great for learning.
Disadvantages: None.
...Tomy Happy Shape.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
What is tomy happy shape?
Tomy happy shape is otherwise known as a shape sorter, you must remember these from when you were a wee one.
There are many shape sorters around these days, some more complicated than others.
The tomy happy shape is a very simple one and great as a babys first shape sorter.
The tomy happy shape looks like the u-bend section in a pipe, with a small tube as the base (see photos) and is yellow in colour. At one end of the pipe is a purple cap / lid which has 3 shapes cut into it, circle, square and triangle. At the other end of the pipe is a green cap / lid, under this cap is a thin sheet of rubber which has been cut in a way so that you can push your hand through into the pipe to re...
Tomy Walkabout Classic Advance - Hard to tune
Review of Tomy Walkabout Classic Advance by
gunner_mel
Advantages: Small size, easily carried around
Disadvantages: Difficult chanel tuning
...The Tomy Walkabout Classic Advance is described as the bestselling baby monitor in the UK.
I have had this baby monitor now for about 6 months and I must say it still hassle me although it does work. The monitor has 4 channels which the manufacturer thinks makes it easier to find one that's interference free. I can only disagree. Every time I turn the monitor on I need to search for the right channel. This can sometimes take up to several minutes although it is meant to remember which channel was selected when you next switch on.
The monitor has a 300m range, so it can be easily carried around the house and the garden for flexible, portable monitoring which does work. I have tried it out and even in the garden the reception is good.
Tomy has integrated a 2-way communication which is described as being "handy for when baby...
