Great toner for combination / dry skin
Review of The Body Shop Vitamin E Hydrating Toner by
lillamarta
Advantages: Protects, moisturises, just as good as designer skin care
Disadvantages: Not suitable for oily skin
...dirt and excess oil trapped in pores, as well as moisturises and protects the skin to leave it refreshed and cleansed.
How to use
The toner isn't oil free, but it is very soft and light to the touch and only needs as much of oily residue that the skin needs. It smells delicately of roses and of something that is a faint alcohol smell to my nose. It certainly doesn't smell exotic but it perfectly does the job.
I use it as a twice a day toning routine after cleansing with Elemis Tri-Enzyme Facial Wash. I use a cotton pad and wipe my face, throat and back of neck. I recently started doing it as I know that we ought to treat our neck area as well because it's just as delicate as the skin on our face and is prone to dehydration.
Results
- Before moisturising
The result is great, moisturised skin that feels...

If your skins oily enough to fry chips in.....
Review of Clinique Clarifying Lotion 3 (Oily Skin) by
April_Angel
Advantages: Sweeps away anything the cleanser missed
Disadvantages: Stings, and dries out the skin.
...Clinique Clarifying Lotion for oily skin is Step 2 of the "3 step skin care system" by clinique.
Clarifying lotion for oily skin is in an opaque dusky pink bottle, with a pistachio green screw cap. It carries the distinct clinique logo in silver print.
All clarifying lotions by clinique, are toning exfoliators, which lift away dead surface skin cells to make the complexion smoother.
This is step 2, as step 1 gets rid of dirt, oil and debris from the skin, and step 2, the clarifying lotion gets rid of the more stubborn dead skin, and any junk which the cleanser couldn't get rid off.
The oily skin formula has astringent properties, and it has a much stronger formula for getting rid of the extra oil on the skins surface.
It's clear that the clarifying lotion does work, because when using a clear cotton pad, you can actually...

Neutrogena's Night Pore Treatment for Oily Skin
Review of Neutrogena Products for Oily Skin by
robyn_phillips
Advantages: There were none
Disadvantages: Expensive, didn't do what it said it would
...I have very oily skin and mild to severe acne that goes along with this. I have used Neutrogena products in the past, but didn't really notice a difference. However, when I saw the above-mentioned product, I thought I had found something that would really work. This product said that it would work on my skin overnight and clear up my skin. How wrong was I? From the first time I tried it, I knew I had made a mistake. Within 5 minutes of applying the product, my face was even oilier than usual and when I woke up in the morning, you could have literally scraped off the excess oil. My skin was 10 times worse than before. My acne flared up and I ended up with pimples that took ages to clear up. I know that these products generally work according to the rule that things get worse before they get better, but I really couldn't live with it. I...

Wonderful fresh feeling toner
Review of Boots No 7 Soft & Soothed Gentle Toner by
KatieFizz
Advantages: Can use it all the time for clean fresh face
Disadvantages: Doesn't close pores
...This bottle of toner is a godsend!
I bought this toner a fair while ago and for some reason I stopped using it - I was going through a long period of trying lots of different lotions and potions. Thankfully i felt like using it the other day and now i'm using it like no-ones business!!
I have a combination skin, it's oily with the odd flaky dry patch, this causes me a lot of problems as you can imagine and I need products which can look after my skin whilst making sure i don't get clogged up - cue spottiness! I use this toner before my moisturizer but i find that it doesn't really do anything special in the cleanse-tone-moisturize routine. In fact, to use before i have used a moisturizer it can leave me a little red.
It's the rest of the time that this toner works magic! During the day, if I'm at home and not wearing make...

Almost 3 steps to perfect skin
Review of Clinique 3 Step Skin Care by
jo1l
Advantages: It works
Disadvantages: the price the moisturizer
...and sensitive skin.
Mild for normal or combination skin
Oily skin formula - for greasy and oil skin
As with all the products in the 3 step system they are hypoallergenic and unperfumed.
As I said previously Clinique products are not cheap and in the UK this is even more so. The prices here are the recommended prices from the Clinique website. Prices in dollars are done for comparison purposes.
Mild, Extra mild, oil skin soap -100g - £8.50 ( $10 - sizes not mentioned on the web site)
Mild, extra mild, oil skin soap - 150g -£11
3 mini soaps available in all formulas - total weight 150g - £12 ( $14.50)
~Step 2~
So this is where you slap on the stingy toner isn't it you're probably thinking. Now the bottle of water like solution you have may look like toner but according to Clinique it most definitely isn't a toner! It...

A Toner You Can Trust On Sensitive Skin
Review of The Body Shop Aloe Calming Toner by
goldenc4
Advantages: Gentle, doesn't irritate the skin, a little goes a long way, Community Trade
Disadvantages: Bottle top design
...Why I Chose The Product:
****************************
A few weeks ago I felt like treating myself, so I popped into my local Body Shop to have a browse. I was quickly swooped upon by a friendly female sales assistant, asking me whether I required any help. I informed her that my skin was no longer in so much of a dry condition, but seemed to be more sensitive to facial products, and thus needed some skincare products.
Immediately the sales assistant drew my attention to the Aloe range. As I’d not tried the range before I thought I’d save myself paying the full whack for each large item, and instead purchase the wash bag full of miniatures of the range for £12. In this pale green bag were-
o 60ml Aloe Calming Facial Cleanser
o 60ml Aloe Calming Toner
o 50ml Aloe Soothing Day Cream
o 15ml Aloe Soothing Night Cream
o Packet...

Great product for oily skin!
Review of Dr. Hauschka Normalizing Day Oil (For Oily or Impure Skin) by
reviewkat
Advantages: Soothing, balancing, healing
Disadvantages: The price £21
...For the past 6 months or so I have had spots on and off on my neck and jawline. Not sure what the reason is - stress? It would become worse closer to the time of the month - hormones!!
At Christmas someone gave me a bottle of Dr. Hauschka lavender bath oil (very luxurious and amazing). I was so impressed by this product, I decided to look into Dr. Hauschka and their other lines.
This is how I came across the Normalizing Day oil (I also began to use the cleansing milk and cleansing cream). At first I was worried about putting oil on my skin. But after using it for about two months now? My skin has improved dramatically.
This oil helps to heal and protect the skin, it balances the oil production and reduces pore size. Amazing!
One thing that Dr.Hauschka says is that you should only use this normalizing oil during the daytime...

Murad Essential C Activating Toner
Review of Murad Essential C Activating Toner by
Sarahhhx
Advantages: It really does work
Disadvantages: Nothing
...As always Murad deliver yet another great product on the market.
I noticed my skin started looking quiet stressed and tired from the environment recently that's why I turned to the Murad Essential C Activating Toner.
Ever since my skins looked perfect. Its net weight is 6.0 FL OZ and it costs usually around £23
The formulae Contains orange & coneflower extracts which helps moisture and replenish the skin.
It has my favourite skin ingredient of all witch hazel; Witch Hazel is great for so many skin conditions such as acne, blemishes, black heads, freckles and brown spots, dry and oily skin. Witch hazel tightens pores without over drying skin and makes skin look fresh and flawless.
I've being using this product for about 3 weeks now, I have had trouble with my skin in the past its never being really bad but I can sometimes...

a great toner for men too
Review of Molton Brown Exfoliating Toner by
emmamcr
Advantages: Effective, good on combination skin, neutral fragrance
Disadvantages: not as 'luxurious' as some toners
...i initially bought this toner as part of a set that included the full beauty routine...cleanser, toner, eye cream and moisturiser. This was priced at £15 as a special offer in our local House of Fraser...it is a fairly regular offer, and I would suggest checking regularly if you want to try Molton Brown. They also sell on QVCUK.com at good reductions.
Normally, I use Decleor, which is a light and calming toner, so I was unsure about this on first examination. There is a slightly flowery scent, but my initial thoughts were that it was a bit 'chemically' smelling.
I used it after the cleanser and was impressed with its cleansing ability. My skin felt clean and fresh, and not dry, though i did feel I needed to moisturise!
After a few weeks of use I was pleased with the effect on my skin. Normally I have combination skin, and my...
