I have always been fastidious about oral hygiene and take great pains to ensure that my teeth and gums are in the very best condition they can be. I religiously brush my teeth after every meal and floss twice a day. After a recent trip to the dentist, to check on the healing of my gums after having had my two wisdom teeth removed, my dentist remarked that I am having a lot of build up of dental plaque. Disadvantages: long healing period usually 5-10 days and cant eat.

It has long been my favourite as a kid and I sort of have to say it still is so as not to feel as if I have disowned it (sorry Mars Bar but I have found other favourites - I still love you though!). ...After putting it off for 18 months I finally had it done! I'd been a bit sceptical before expecting loads of pain and stuff even though I have my eyebrow, lip, tragus and 20+ earrings. But I was pleasantly surprised at how little it hurt! I had mine done at Pierced Up in Bristol, they only concentrate on piercings and have one of the best reputations around. Pete the piercer sat me down and went through the procedure first. Then the nervy part. Pierced up will only put metal bars in piercings for optimal healing and less chance of infection. Nor do they use numbing liquids which can cause the introduction of germs themselves. Advantages: FUNKY, LOOKS GOOD, NOT TOO PAINFUL, PLEASURABLE

If the person is professional he will talk you throuhg everything he is going to do and more than likely clean the implements before you to prove the point. My tongue piercing cost £25, and then I paid an extra £5 to have it changed after the swelling had gone down so i think it was quite a reasonable price. Before you sre pierced you will be asked if you'd like a metal or plastic bar put in straight away. I would reccommend the plastic option as the bar is so big for your tongue to have enough room to swell a metal bar can be more uncomfortable.
