...I remember seeing the advertisement for this toothbrush some time ago and thought.....just another gimmick that probably wouldnt live up to its name! The next time I saw it was in my sons bathroom, he told me he had been using it for some time and it was pretty good compared to the ordinary toothbrushes he normaly uses. So I decided to buy one and give it a try. The Aquafresh Flex Tooth & Tongue Toothbrush and Tongue Cleaner claims to remove 5 times more bacteria than normal tooth brushing. It comes in the style of an ordinary toothbrush with a rubber grip handle and flexi neck . On the back of the head of the toothbrush is the tongue cleaner which is made of rubber with raised grooves. After brushing your teeth and rinsing your mouth you turn the brush over and place the grooved side as far back as you can on your tongue...

Aquafresh Flex Tooth & Tongue Toothbrush : A magic toothbrush?

Advantages: Good cleaning action, bendy neck, made my teeth feel healthy
Disadvantages: Packaging almost impossible to open, difficult to clean the back of the tongue

Thinking it was about time I replaced my toothbrush, I studied a few in Sainsburys and the Aquafresh Extreme Tooth & Tongue brush caught my eye. I was particularly attracted to the claims on the rear of the pack that it is supposed to remove 5 times more bacteria than other toothbrushes, and I liked the idea of a flexible neck (flexible neck on the brush, I mean!). Tingly Tongue

Advantages: Cleans both teeth and tongue without batteries or electric
Disadvantages: some may struggle with the whole throwing up issue, not good for young users

...I needed a cheap but good toothbrush for my stay at my cousins, i orignally have an eletric toothbrush but its a little to much hassle to take on a trip. So why did i pick this specific toothbrush? Well it just seemed to stand out and it was only £2-£3 to buy so i decided to give it a go. Gagging to Shave my Tongue!!!!!

I have always been fastidious about oral hygiene and take great pains to ensure that my teeth and gums are in the very best condition they can be. I religiously brush my teeth after every meal and floss twice a day. After a recent trip to the dentist, to check on the healing of my gums after having had my two wisdom teeth removed, my dentist remarked that I am having a lot of build up of dental plaque. ...Okay so what I've decided to do is follow what happens during each day of a tongue piercing. Instead of just one day sitting down and writing the whole thing in an hour I will spend a few minutes each night explaining what the day was like, how it hurts on the day, what I ate, the progress my tongues made, any worries, and anything else I can think on that day. I think then this will give everyone a good idea as to what a tongue piercing is like and what may happen day after day. So In some ways it's like a tongue piercing diary haha. I know it's very long but this way everyone who is interested will get an in depth review and I have also tried to add a bit of sarcasm, wit and comedy so it will not be a long boring read. I asked my parents if i could get it done, but as I expected the answer was NO! Eventually, after 3 years of nagging, moaning and wining, they gave in to me and said I could get it done, but then I began to think. Dare I? I plucked up the courage when I was 14 to go into town and get it done. I had to have a letter from my parents to say they gave their consent, as I was only 14. Advantages: looks kind of cool, either scares or impresses people.
Disadvantages: long healing period usually 5-10 days and cant eat.

...After putting it off for 18 months I finally had it done! I'd been a bit sceptical before expecting loads of pain and stuff even though I have my eyebrow, lip, tragus and 20+ earrings. But I was pleasantly surprised at how little it hurt! I had mine done at Pierced Up in Bristol, they only concentrate on piercings and have one of the best reputations around. Pete the piercer sat me down and went through the procedure first. Then the nervy part. Pierced up will only put metal bars in piercings for optimal healing and less chance of infection. Nor do they use numbing liquids which can cause the introduction of germs themselves.
