Toni & Guy Shine Addiction Shampoo
Review of Tommy Hilfiger Insights Shine Addiction Silk Shampoo by
ktb20
Advantages: Shiny hair, easy to use top, elegant Packaging
Disadvantages: Expensive, easy to knock over bottle!
...I was wondering through my local Boots the other day after getting my hair cut that morning (not at a Toni & Guy salon I should add!) wanting to buy some nice shampoo that just might help me to keep that glossy shiny look you get after coming out of the hairdressers but can never usually achieve on your own until your next trip there! I came across the Toni & Guy range and was instantly attracted to the look and shape of the bottle. Although pricey at £4.99 for 300ml I was in the mood to spend.
The bottle itself is a tall thin one which is a frosted white colour with a silver lid and the words "Shine Addiction" on the side. The gel inside was a bluey colour and could clearly be seen through the bottle. The main things that attracted me to this bottle was the simplicity of it and also the fact that it promised "incredible softness...

Toni & Guy
Review of Toni and Guy by
Jordon
Advantages: Top Service, Professional
Disadvantages: None
...a wide range of products, from Shampoo, Conditioner, hair care products to suit all your hair needs they also offer a small range of make-up.
I do 100% Recommend Toni & Guy, I have never used any other salon since my first visit, and will continue to use them. I also use there products, and have been very happy with the all round service.
Anyone wondering why Billy, was nice enough to come all that way to sort my hair out? He’s my Brother, and I am also a Hairdresser.
Thanks for reading
Jayne xx

My mates, Toni and Guy
Review of Toni and Guy by
relentless_behaviour
Advantages: Stylish, friendly and funky.
Disadvantages: Perhaps a little too adventurous for the old farts of the office.
...A haircut is a haircut, no? Well, no, actually – caught you out there, didn’t I, huh? Last year, during troubled times was the first time I treated myself to going into Toni and Guy’s in the town centre of Hastings. I made an appointment and off I went. The reason I went there was because I was unloved. Ahhh. Nobody wanted to make me feel good about myself, so I was going to have to enhance my appearance so that I’d feel good about myself.
As I walked in I was greeted by a funky lady behind the counter, which itself was rather funky. Wouldn’t mind a shorter version as a coffee table, you know the sort. I told her my name and she asked me to take a seat. I had a look around, everything was spotless, more to the point, everything was hairless. There were people being served by other people, sat there in front of massive wooden...

Toni & Guy metrocentre gateshead
Review of Toni and Guy by
ladlee
Advantages: good end result, friendly & welcoming environment
Disadvantages: Not the banter of a barbour shop
...Since turning 20 I've been getting a bit sick of the old 'short back & sides.' I thought I'd try a more upper market salon than a barbour shop. There's a few of both in the metrocentre, the shopping mall in Gateshead, Tyneside.
I was just after an improvement but not sure what. I'd a recommendation of Toni & Guy. I looked around the metrocentre on a quiet Tuesday morning to check out all salons, not just T&G.
The others had groups of staff, who weren't cutting hair, crowding round a seat. This always puts me off any kind of shop.
However the few members of staff in T&G were cutting hair, with one sitting behind the desk looking busy. I went in, asked if you had to have an appointment, which you did and made one for an hour later.
Time passed & I returned to the salon. I was saw to pretty quickly & put on a gown & shown...

Fame Academy - Toni and Guy style
Review of Toni and Guy by
daisydaisym
Advantages: Freebie haircuts, friendly service,
Disadvantages: May take longer than a normal cut, as the tutors will double check everything!
...Before you read the rest of this review you need to know 2 things about me
1/ I HATE going to the hairdressers. Ever since a hideous haircut as an 8 year old that left me teased at school, and traumatised for life!!! And again, at 16 with a Toni and Guy's Stylist who just wouldn't listen to what I wanted at all!!! I left with big, bouffant, backcombed US soap star hair, which surprisingly didn't suit a 5 foot nothing school girl!
2/ I also hate people coming up to me on the street and trying to sell me stuff!
So, it was a very bizarre and unusual set of circumstances that found me this morning sitting in the Toni and Guy Training Academy on New Oxford Street, acting as a model for Rob, who was about to be assessed on his technique for cutting a classic bob! I'm not sure who was the most nervous, him or me!!!
HOW IT ALL...

Horror at Toni and Guy Victoria
Review of Toni and Guy by
just_one
Advantages: None
Disadvantages: Broken promises
...I saw an advert looking for model for colour, pasted outside Toni and Guy Victoria branch. I decided to walk in to enquire. The reception there set me an appointment to come in on a Thursday. As this was my first experience being a model for hair colour, I was a little unsure. Therefore I asked how experience the student who will be doing the colour is. I was given the assurance that Laura, the student is very good. However, I was prewarned that the whole process may take up to 3 hours.
On Thursday, the day of my appointment I was very excited. I had earlier applied for time off with my company in order to come in for the colour session. So, you could imagine my disappointment when I went into Toni and Guy and was informed by Catherine, a supposedly colour instructor that I would need to come in for a scalp colour test prior to my...

Toni and Guy
Review of Toni and Guy by
chazolate
Advantages: You can say you got your hair cut at Toni and Guy
Disadvantages: People wont believe you by looking at it
...My hair is the most important feature to me and therefore I was really upset when I started losing it due to years of straightening. I decided to try out hair extensions and went to toni and guy for a free consultation as well as S&I another near by hair dressers. After having a consultation with both I went back to Toni and Guy to book it with them however they informed me that the way they did the extensions had changed and i now had to pay £30 for a consultation and over £1000 for the work where as my previous quote was around £800.
I decided to get my hair done at S&I and I really like it there. When it was finally time to take the extensions out again I decided I would like to get my hair permanently straightened. Toni and Guy had two different treatments for this and at a consultation I was told they both worked about the same...

Toni&Guy Hair Scare
Review of Toni and Guy by
AmyS
Advantages: Can boost your hair-confidence
Disadvantages: Price, Staff, After-care
...Ever since my first trip around 3 yrs ago, ive been a dedicated Toni&Guy girl, even when thye messed my hair up! Howevere, i think now im starting to see the truth about them. Basically, the hype surrounding "Toni&Guy" overshadows the service. While you may get 9 out of ten people perfectly pleased with their style, you can guarantee that last person will not be pleased, and will be wondering how the hell the Stylist heard "Choppy bob" when they clearly asked for long layers. In short, sometimes it feels as though the stylists, although extremely skilled in what they do, are cutting your hair as if it were their own, as THEY would like, and not neccessarily relavent to how you have requested. The ever-so-stylish stylists can be somewhat overwhelming with their vision to create your hair into a catwalk masterpiece in 2 hours, while all...

Ex-Toni & Guy employee sets the record straight...
Review of Toni and Guy by
shinejunkie
Advantages: Some excellent, talented staff. Latest styles and techniques
Disadvantages: Staff often in England just for a year or two. Appointments too short.
...(Okay, so this was meant to be a response to "Conveyor belt hair dressing" but I exceeded the word-limit so I am instead posting in a new thread for all to see.)
It's not Toni & Guy salons that are at fault here - it's the individual colourist. You'll get good and bad colourists in any salon.
I used to work as a senior technician (colourist) at Toni & Guy and whilst I do have my criticisms of the company I feel it's unfair to assume that problems such as this apply to all Toni & Guy staff.
This stripey effect is something I saw a lot of regardless of where the colour was done. It is often laziness on the part of the colourist in colouring over the midlengths instead of just the regrowth. But there are a few things you can do yourself to minimise this, which is why I'm responding:
1. Keep to the same colourist. A different...
