...Toni & Guy I have visited a few of Toni & Guy salons, so I now feel that I can write this review. In 1963 Toni & Guy first salon opened in Clapham London. From there on in, there was no stopping them, nearly every big town has one. If I am correct they also have or are expanding abroad. If you have visited 1 or more Toni & Guy salon?s you will notice that they are all the same, from the chairs to the sinks, the walls to the floor. Each salon is identical, being the inside. They have a uniform of Black and White. Black bottoms with a White top, they do have their own logo t-shirts in which some staff do wear. The salons I have visited ? Chichester in West Sussex, owned by a man called Jeff. Basildon in Essex, owned by a man called Billy. This opened in August 1999. Billy is sponsoring Miss Essex at the moment...

Tony! Toni! Toné?

Advantages: Lots of big tracks
Disadvantages: Nothing specific

...The Oakland, California group, Tony! Toni! Toné!, released their second album, ?The Revival? in 1990. The R&B group dropped this album right in the middle of the New Jack Swing era of the genre, and so this is much of what you get from the band as well as a little Soul from them as you have Raphael Saadiq lead on the vocals with his brother D?Wayne Wiggins and cousin Timothy Christian Riley (in addition to many other people with instrumentals). 1. ?Feels Good? To get this album underway, you have a track which has the band getting down with their first chart-topping single. It has them work with Mopreme Shakur (stepbrother to 2Pac) in a banger of a jam which has them throw down some heavy, feel-good New Jack Swing to the listeners. It is just the right way to begin things as you hear that they choose to excite listeners on Breakbeats...

Even for non-Bennett fans

Advantages: Will last you a long time! Entertaining, humourous, and poignant.
Disadvantages: Not a quick read.

...Alan Bennett was unknown to me before I picked up this book. All I knew was that he was a playwright. I acquired the novel from Asda at a very good price of £3.99. I was looking for an intellectual, stimulating and humourous read. I definitely got what I asked for. The book is long and the print is small so it takes a while to read. It is what it says it is though - it is a mix of journal entries and musings. Naturally, it is very well written, and is easy to follow - but it is clear that this something written for adults as the language can be quite complex. Bennett does not leave much to the imagination, it has to be said, and he reveals a lot of personal insight on his family life, and can be at times very critical of family members. So much so that as a reader I felt quite invasive, almost like an intruder, knowing so much...

Bennett on holiday?...not likely...he's too buisy

Advantages: Brilliant music,wether you like Billy Holliday or Tony himself
Disadvantages: Unfortunately Tony cant do them all so well...after all there was only one Billy Hilliday!

...Its when you listen to Tony Bennett that one gets to realise that they just don't write them like this anymore.... This album- maybe not one of his best- still rings the changes, between the new and the not so new...it is definitely unique. The On Holiday refers to the incredible blues singer Billie Holiday. This woman has definite feeling and is the idol of many pop singers today. Tony Bennet, with his easy, lounge like style redoes some of her songs on this album. The songs on this album are the more brighter ones in Holidays repetoire, however, they couldn't leave out "Willow Weep for Me," and "These Foolish Things." Fame Academy - Toni and Guy style

Disadvantages: May take longer than a normal cut, as the tutors will double check everything!

...Before you read the rest of this review you need to know 2 things about me 1/ I HATE going to the hairdressers. Ever since a hideous haircut as an 8 year old that left me teased at school, and traumatised for life!!! And again, at 16 with a Toni and Guy's Stylist who just wouldn't listen to what I wanted at all!!! I left with big, bouffant, backcombed US soap star hair, which surprisingly didn't suit a 5 foot nothing school girl! 2/ I also hate people coming up to me on the street and trying to sell me stuff! So, it was a very bizarre and unusual set of circumstances that found me this morning sitting in the Toni and Guy Training Academy on New Oxford Street, acting as a model for Rob, who was about to be assessed on his technique for cutting a classic bob! ...I saw an advert looking for model for colour, pasted outside Toni and Guy Victoria branch. I decided to walk in to enquire. The reception there set me an appointment to come in on a Thursday. As this was my first experience being a model for hair colour, I was a little unsure. Therefore I asked how experience the student who will be doing the colour is. I was given the assurance that Laura, the student is very good. However, I was prewarned that the whole process may take up to 3 hours. On Thursday, the day of my appointment I was very excited. ...Since turning 20 I've been getting a bit sick of the old 'short back & sides.' I thought I'd try a more upper market salon than a barbour shop. There's a few of both in the metrocentre, the shopping mall in Gateshead, Tyneside. I was just after an improvement but not sure what. I'd a recommendation of Toni & Guy. I looked around the metrocentre on a quiet Tuesday morning to check out all salons, not just T&G. The others had groups of staff, who weren't cutting hair, crowding round a seat. This always puts me off any kind of shop. However the few members of staff in T&G were cutting hair, with one sitting behind the desk looking busy.
