Tony Hawks Underground (PS2)
Review of Tony Hawk's Underground (PS2) by
ManUtdBoi
Advantages: fantastic gameplay
Disadvantages: cant find cheats that work
...having previously bought Tony Hawks 2, 3 and 4, I was always going to get this. The major advantages this has over all other TH games is the fact that on this one you can actually get off your board and go around on foot. Also the story mode on THUG is much more in depth than previously before.
The quality of gameplay is absolutely fantastic compared with the previous Tony Hawk games with very clear graphics and very few glitches, whereas on previous ones, I in particular, had a few problems with it freezing.
In particular I found that actually skating round corners was rather difficult to control whereas on THUG the controls are near perfect and a vast improvement. THUG is so enjoyable compared to the previous games because the entire gameplay is much smoother, slicker and just seems more realistic.
I havn't played any other...

Tony Hawk is back with another excellent game!
Review of Tony Hawk's American Wasteland (PS2) by
g-virus
Advantages: No loading screens, lots of unlockables and excellent gameplay
Disadvantages: BMX feature was laking, there's rap music on it!
...Game title: Tony Hawks American Wasteland
Format: PS2
Genre: Extreme sports/skateboarding
Certificate: 16+
Contains: Mild violence, mild language and a bit of blood
Developed by: Neversoft
Published by: Activision
Players: 1 or 2 players
Memory card usage: 134KB minimum
Other information: Network adaptor (Ethernet) compatible 2 - 8 players, Enhanced with Eye Toy USB camera
Well Tony Hawks American Wasteland which I will be calling THAW from now on is the 7th game in the series. It all started way back on the PS1 with the first in the series Tony Hawks Pro Skater. Tony Hawk was just making it big or (bigger if you like) on the skating scene by landing the first 900 degree spin air trick. This spun off the contract to make a game with his name on it. I came across this game from a friend when I first started skating...

Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3
Review of Tony Hawk Pro Skater 3 (PS2) by
AfroJoe_AJ
Advantages: Good graphics, loads of skaters and levels to plough through and a nice selection of songs to listen to while planting your kickflips
Disadvantages: We've seen it all before and the songs will get a bit tedious after a while
...Now when Tony Hawk signed a contract with Activision to make his very own skateboarding game, he thought it would be an OK game at the most but he, nor anyone else expected it to be the major hit that both the first and second installments of the game were. So does the third edition still rock? You bet it does!
This game, like the other two versions, starts off with a flashy intro movie to really get you ready for the game, but even if you were the best games player in the world you couldn't handle this first time round. It's that different. To really succeed, the Revert has been added as a move that should be done right after every trick and right before another one is excecuted. It doesn't only get you an extra 500 points or so each time you do it but it also multiplies your score and if you can excecute a whole bunch of moves...

Enter the Hawk
Review of Tony Hawk Pro Skater 3 (PS2) by
MR.COATES
Advantages: Pick up and go gameplay, packed with features
Disadvantages: Could have a few more levels
...The recent months leading up to Christmas have been exceedingly painful on the wallets of PS2 owners. Just one look at the shelves of your local Games shop will have you smiling from ear to ear.
SSX Tricky, Grand Theft Auto 3, Pro Evolution Soccer……so it’s quite likely that the last thing you and your bank balance need to hear is that there’s yet another PS2 title out there demanding to be purchased. My advice then, if you’re feeling the money strain, is to ignore this and watch some TV.
Right, for the brave ones who have chosen to stay it’s time to unleash the beast that is Tony Hawk’s 3.
That’s right, he’s back and bigger than ever and for the first time making an appearance on the PS2.
Tony Hawk has over the years become about as big as you can possibly get in the world of Skateboarding. He's won more championships than I...

A Return To Form For Mr. Hawk
Review of Tony Hawk's Project 8 (PS2) by
jking1988
Advantages: A more back to basic approach than the underground games
Disadvantages: Some sick scores are very infuriating to try and get!
...From the moment i put the game into my ps2 i knew this game felt right, the simple stylish packaging, the promised new additions, and the back to basics approach the game seemed to have taken.
To this day i am yet to be disappointed by the game, which suprises me as much as it may well do you, for i had almost given up hope on the Tony Hawk name...
Now to the nitty gritty anyway, this review is gonna be broken down into the main catagories of: Gameplay, Sound, Graphics and Lifespan.
Now firstly there is the Gameplay:
Tony Hawk's Project 8 plays like a mixture between the classic Tony Hawk's games (1, 2, 3, 4) and the later 'Underground' games. Players can get off their board as in the later games which can be very useful for scaling objects to do sick tricks off! An awesome new edition is that of the 'Nail-the-trick' mode...

Hawk Gets Triple
Review of Tony Hawk Pro Skater 3 (PS2) by
Fuzzmaster2002
Advantages: Realistic, good music
Disadvantages: Repetitive Challenges
...Bitz |
Developed by :: Neversoft
Published by :: Activision 02
Genre :: Extreme sports, skateboarding, Tony Hawk
Grind, lip, manual, balance. What the heck am I on about? Skateboarding, that’s what. And not just any old skateboarding, oh no, this is the best. This is Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3, no less. Stunned? Behind on one game? You will be!
Following on from its highly popular predecessors (cunningly titled Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2 and THPS), which featured on almost every format they possibly could have, it continues the steady format of being given goals in 'Career' mode, and a two minute time limit to complete them. 9 goals a level, and they require a mix of skill, com-trickery and plain luck. Impress skaters, rack up enormous scores, help really tall and thin people, soak poor, helpless, old people in water and grind...

Tony Hawk turns into a THUG!
Review of Tony Hawk' Underground (Xbox) by
Stunt101
Advantages: Visual great; amazing soundtrack; gameplay adds new moves, but retains it's charm; lots of modes.
Disadvantages: No online play, even though the PS2 version has it; storymode isn't a dramatic change.
....
As far as multiplayer goes, there's no online play, but there's a system link for up to 8 players. There's lots of multiplayer modes, including score competitions, best combo battles, graffiti, goal attack, and lots more. There's also a new mode called fireball, which attempts to turn your eight-player matches into a deathmatch of sorts by giving you the ability to fire projectiles at the other players. You're given a health meter, and the last player standing wins. It's annoying there's no Xbox Live, especially since the PS2 version has online play, but if you don't play on live this isn't a problem for you.
No Tony Hawk game would be complete without unlockable items, and THUG has lots of them. You can find at least three hidden skaters and four unlockable levels, three of which are from a previous versions of Tony Hawk. In the past games...

Tony Hawk 3 Another Activison Hit
Review of Tony Hawk Pro Skater 3 (PS2) by
ciaomen
Advantages: Smooth Gameplay, Detailed Graphics
Disadvantages: Soundtrack could have more songs
...After purchasing this game, I could not wait to rip it open and start playing. The graphics are amazing and the gameplay is solid and smooth. Tons of levels, tons of skaters, tons of fun!
After only a year of relasing Tony Hawk 2, Tony Hawk 3 was released and has already became one of the most popular games the Playstation has ever seen!
First of the Gameplay:
This is what makes the game fun, the gameplay. The gameplay is for the most part easy to figure out (just like anything else, takes a while to master). The trick system as you knew it in Tony Hawk 2 is almost entirely the same -- grind, flip, grab, manual. The new "revert" command is a significant addition, but it doesn't feel as big a leap ahead as the manual was in Tony Hawk 2. It's a new dimension nonetheless, though, enabling you to combine air and lip tricks off...

Tony Hawks 3 - My Views
Review of Tony Hawk Pro Skater 3 (PS2) by
Kyz22
Advantages: Very fun game with plenty of extras
Disadvantages: Not greatly original
...,000 points in 2 minutes or collecting the COMBO letters in one great big combo move, or the challenge may be quite funny like stealing 5 policemen’s hats or hitting a zoo mascot with different moves.
As usual the game contains a variety of levels for you to skate on and each level is progressively harder and a certain number of goals must be completed on one to advance to the next. A few secret levels can be unlocked or can also be bought in the skate shop. The skate shop is a nice addition to the game and lets you purchase anything from new costumes to new characters. Money is earned in the game for helping people out and also by collecting oversized dollar bills in the levels.
Tony Hawks Pro Skater 3 allows your creative flair to run wild in more ways than one. You can create your perfect custom skater with incredible details down...

Tony Hawks Remix for PSP
Review of Tony Hawk's Underground 2 Remix (PSP) by
Roguey-117
Advantages: Tony hawks portable!, Good as other tony hawks games, Cheap!
Disadvantages: Controls can be tricky, no level editor
...: High score, horse, tagging and many more.
One of the great features of the game is the create modes. Using the create a skater mode you can design your own playable character and even map your own picture of your face onto the character so he or she has your face! You can also create you own board by selecting the wheel colour, Design, Graptape design and style. The create a goal lets you create you own style of story mode challenge on your level of choice which is great if you want to give yourself a greater challenge. You can even create your own skate boarding special signature trick!
There are many many maps to play on so you wont be bored and you will spend a long time completing this game 100% especially on the Sick level of difficulty. Even if the game looks like a copy of the PS2 version of Tony Hawks...
